If you buy a streak from someone you must have the warranty switched into your name otherwise dell wont even talk to you; well they will but just to say we cant help you. So go to dell website to do the transfere you must have the persons name that you bought it from there adress email and phone number. Just fyi

When you check for updates, what is the exact address - including BB - th streak is sending to the Dell web site? I know the last part of it identifies your BB and I want to send mine manually.

Thanks this is exactly what I was looking for.
I need to get my streak replaced, as it does a hard reset every week (more or less).
However, when I enter my service tag in the "technical support" page in dell.co.uk (00-EU version), I get "Please ensure the service tag entered is valid."
What should I do?
How have others gotten their Streak replaced?
Call dell. It sounds like your streak isnt activated through them. Its not one of the beta units right?

Have you called dell support? Like I said it sounds like it isnt an activated unit. A call to dell should solve that issue. Probably will have to get a supervisor involved tho.

Hey is there a way to find out what version of the streak I had?
I bought my second hand and already had 2.2 on it and it was unlocked. When I turn it on it has an O2 logo but when I go the dell website it says its a US phone.
The baseband is 319 US

Got it off ebay and now that I left the person a good feedback already he wont respond. I will check the service tag later cuz if I take of the battery cover phone will turn off.

Service tag is found also in Settings, about and it should be listed there along info such as imei number etc.

why not just go to settings/about phone/status and second from bottom will be your service tag.
I hve an o2 lock dell streak, I am an Indian nd not an o2 customer.. When mailed o2 regarding unlock code, they replied that they cant provide the code to a non o2 customer. I want the code ASAP.. also they are providing codes to o2 customer very easily nd withput questioning. Can any o2 subscriber can help me by mailing o2 and asking for unlock code for my,dell streak?? Plzzz!!! It wuld be a gr8 help..

I live in greece, i have a locked to O2 phone, and they deny to unlock it because i am not an O2 customer!!
Sagar send me the mail... they told me to find the first owner of the phone!!!! stupid....things!
I don't see why o2 should unlock the phone for you. As they say, you're not an o2 customer, you're not contributing revenue to them and never have. Why should they unlock the phone for you to use on a different network? No-one forced you to buy an o2 streak after all

I'm sorry for not being supportive, but as an o2 customer I would effectively be subsidising his/her phone being unlocked. o2 are running a business after all, which makes them very unlikely to start giving stuff away for free. I feel more supportive towards o2 for protecting their revenue stream and (hopefully) in turn keeping my costs as a customer down.
My suggestion for the OP would be to sell the locked Streak and get an unlocked version, or to pay a commercial site to unlock it as suggested above.

tried quite a few of them...none of them worked for me
which one unlocks O2 locked ? I can't find one!
Hey guys I just got a replacement streak due to my my wifi not working. They said they would send me a new one and a packing material to send my broken one back but there no return info or packing info. Ive even check to see if they sent an email with the info and nothing. Should I keep my wifi broken phone or conact them and send it back? Oh and this my 3rd phone replacement.
