Hi,
After a lot of swearing because my text/mail didn't work anymore on my htc touch pro... I found out that my cemail.vol was the culprit, it seems to be corrupt.
The problem is that I would really like to get my text messages out of it somehow, is there any way to do this? Putting it back on the device just breaks the messaging app all over again.
TIA
PS: I don't know if this is the correct forum for this... so forgive me if it isn't
Hi!
This little exe (written by Nicolas Mauri, nicolasmauri.blogspot.com) my help you!
greatz!
Thanks, how should I use this?
Did you have any luck with this issue?
I actually don't remember.
But I don't think I did, didn't know how to use it and just did a hard reset I guess...

So, whenever I get an mms message from anyone, it shows weird characters in the name field, and will never download the message. When I try and send a message, it says " your message of *whatever*K exceeds the limit of 1k.
Does everyone have this problem?
I switched from my Treo 700wx to the 6800 and really like it, cept this little issue has me scratching my head. Gotta be something obvious, but Im not getting it...

Ugh, great. Anyone else?
So, I did a hard reset, tested before and after restoring my data, and still had the same problem. Guess Ill be trading it for a new one...
I got this too actually and I was wondering if this happened to anyone else as well. Have you installed any .cab files? When I first got the phone it worked fine, then I installed Touchflo, the cube, HTC Home, and the Audio Manager. Some time after that I had that MMS issue.
I did a master reset which seemed to fix it, and I've just reinstalled everything except for the cube. Also, did you do the registry hack to disable the sent message notification? I did that the first time as well as the second time, I'm on my 3rd clean attempt and I haven't done that hack yet.
I hope someone has an answer for this.
I actually had the same problem and finally narrowed it down (through a series of hard resets and individual .cab installs) to the HTC audio manager i had installed. I noticed today in the forums there was a new version (Although supposedly unchanged) and it works fine, i've been relaxing to Chevelle while sending pictures. Found it toward the end of the HTC Original Cab Files thread.
Noob alert here. Have pretty technical i.t. skills but somehow managed to blow this one big time.
Lost touch capabilities after running KaiserTweak to remove annoying SMS sent notification.
Is this a known issue? Did I do something dumb? LOL... any advice here would help, really don't want to hard reset after I got everything to work how I want.
**Just a thought, could it have been the sensitivity settings set to Ultra @ 600? I tried changing this key manually using Mobile Registry Editor but am not getting access rights to change it. Guessing some of these reg tweaks were designed specifically for the Kaiser? Maybe that caused a hiccup... help if you can-- Would REALLY appreciate it.
Will seriously Paypal someone 10 bucks to help me fix this LOL.
just do a hard-reset
Hmm....
Cabfile attached; see if it works
regards,
Merlin
Thanks Merlin... I went ahead and did a hard reset anyways, but I really appreciate you posting that app and I will save it for later use, just in case I fudge something up again!
Everytime i restart my phone, it starts the calibrating of the thouchscreen. Anyone else got this problem? Maybe there is a cab to fix it (i remember there was a similar issue on custom Prophet-ROMs).
thats a bug sometimes happens while making a hardreset.
just do another hardreset or search for the corrosponing key in the registry. dont know how its named though
I just installed all aplications on my new phone (no hardreset), so i would be glad if somebody can tell me the specifig regestry key.
I had have this bug a few resets before - i disabled the autostart of the calibration-tool with sktools. Any other autostart-manager should work too.
Can somebody suggest a free autostart-manager? Did a few searchs and found nothing.
Nobody got an alternative to sktools?
Nice idea...

I got one from this forum, it's called 'startup manager'. Upload from my X1 doesn't work, try a new forum search. I know that's
out there ...
why dont u consider buying sktools? i think it is good
hi, i tried searching before any seniors start getting annoyed..
but my diamond has very sluggish text messaging...i press one key and it take about a second for it to register it..
im a heavy texter so find this a problem..
resetting the phone works for about 5 minutes then it becomes slow again.
Also- how do i change my left home softkey to an action screen- bearing in mind i have touchflo 3d turned off
thank you everybody!
hey cmon guys! i like to think we're a community in this windows mobile... that help each other out..now im sure somebody knows how to help me.. so help me please!
Have you tried a hard reset ?
Assuming it used to work ok when you got it, a hard reset will get it back to its original performance
I think it's good to hard reset (or change the rom) every few months at least
It may help the techs if you can say what rom version you have
hard reset doesnt help. ive tried that and it still becomes sluggish after about half hour of it being on or after a soft reset
Time for a cooked ROM fellas. Best solution to most problems.
who will make me a cooked rom...i only realli use text messaging and intenet...thats it

Sounds like you have some reading to do...
Best to start here in the ROM thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=430
http://www.modmydiamond.info is also a good place for beginners.
AdamPatel - After the hard resets you've tried, have you restored all your previous sms messages back onto the phone.
One thing i'm wondering is, does having hundreds-thousands of text messages, slow down sending/viewing messages?
