i have just requested this
Watching the youtube video and without any explanation from devs yet, makes me really confused.
First we see a X10 running SE 2.1, then he reboot the client, then its custom 2.2 ROM, then reboot again.. press button while booting, so it goes to recovery/safe mode? then it comeback to SE 2.1.
Anyway, its great progress from devs
Now i wonder, as far as i know this custom rom is achieved without unlocking the bootloader, right; or i'm wrong that the bootloader is uncloked.
Well anyway, want really bothering me is that if we unlock the bootloader, do we get "open padlock" icon like Nexus One? I really cannot stand that icon, lol. been trying to find a way to remove that from my dad's Nexus One.
we will not release an incomplete work
thread will remain closed if this is wham moderators want
whose day is today. I like that thread to be re-open as I didn't get why it was closed if he had problem with donation link he could just simply remove the links...
Thanks Jerpelea for makeing progress on this as we do really care about this.

+ not to forget that looking at those screenshots on the other post makes my X10 happier than ever.
I don't get all this thread closing thing that has been going on here... did they at least have an explanation as to why the thread has been closed?
I am sure that I am not at position to discuss this but some of these closings are really unnecessary but Mods know what is in the best interest of this community.
To clarify the reason for closing the thread temporarily, please see the last post in it.
It will be opened again at the request of the OP, as soon as he wants it. I am in contact with him by PM anyway, and the moment he is ready to release, it will be opened up for him.
Hope that clarifies things.

Thats what the mod wanted to say. This thread should have been locked as well.
This new custom 2.1 rom is quick, just looked at the results on the 1st page of the thread showing the rom's, it is over double the speed of my x10i as it is now!!
That is some massive improvement.

It seems to be about the same as the SE 2.1 with jit enabled. That would also have jit enabled so I would think they would be roughly the same.

Sorry I do understand the devs are working hard but progress is slow
Okay, no offence...... But clearly you can't read, have you not seen the many threads to bypass the locked bootloaders. These threads have hard working devs attempting to make custom rons even with the difficulties at hand. I understand that progression is slow due to the lack of.devs but we are truly blessed to have devs like racht, jerpelea, doixnah, povanovn, artoseven (sorry if i missed anyone out, you devs are all included). The effort these devs have put in to make this phone a little better is amazing and i definately believe they deserve a round of applause. Not only are there workaround custom roms but there are modules which are made to help OC and add more features to our phone than Sony would have provided us. Furthermore devs are slowly finishing tweaks on cracking the x8 bootloader. These devs and everyone who has ever provided something to improve this phone deserve a round of applause and i think you should apologise for your gurtful comment, cos at the end of the day the devs are helping us

Gosh...WTF...are they blind???look overall the threads..developing isn't easy work and need much time for it.i ever try to build rom but it's failed and now still learning and learning...the Devs is a human being and their time is not just to build/porting a rom

Are you a Dev? Because i can't seem to remember seeing your name anywhere near a ROM upload.
@Administrator. I humbly request this thread be deleted or moved to the General section since it has nothing to do with development.
up :===> 100% agree
I think he means the lack of progress lately, which is somewhat true. I haven't seen ratch update his ROM in a while, and the 'SD card is safe to remove' still exists, and it's been around since the creation of custom ROMs.
Please note I'm not agreeing with the OP, just putting this out there.

If you look around all devs are focussing on kernel building and loading and behind the scenes activity, instead of posting half baked stuff they are posting tested and stable roms
Look at minicm its almost perfect, only one main bug and tethering feature is not available.
Don't worry and have patience.
And if some mod can close or move this pointless thread it would be great.

you only really need to unlock your bootloader if you want a custom kernel or rom, I've unlocked it to install ICS alpha leak build but I relocked it again and went back to Stock, Root is a must though, Android is a pretty nice OS so just take advantage of the modifications.
Also install Xperia Tweak 2.0, you can find it in the dev section and install the Bravia, Rendering and touchscreen tweaks.

I do alot of dev work I am always decompiling apk from other users and editing the class file and recompile and sign them
i always find out how thing work.
I am always working hard.
you just haven't looked for the good in people
you are nowhere near advanced. you need to bring that ego down a few notches. all i've seen you do is whine about how verizon ruined your life for locking the bootloader (even though you can unlock it easily) and talk down to people. quit going around like you are king ****. you are low tier. know your place.
Looking for good in people is one thing, but all you've shown me is words - Usually *****y, annoying words.
Get your name on a release and maybe people will start to overlook your glaring personality defects.

Since X8 and X10 are close relatives, I think you should contact with the MIUI for x10 ROM developers/porters and ask them if you can base your ports on their, or use some stuff from their roms. I think it will ease up the porting process.
To jahlovePL, and others:
Please take a look at these threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540716
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295089

I look forward to see a stable and fully working MIUI port for our lovely X8.
Btw, thumbs up for jahlovePL. You did some great job. Thanks
x8 and x10 aren't close, x8 is armv6, x10 is armv7. this is a big diferrence. this is the reason why there were miui ports for x10, but there were no working ports for x8. miui was closed source and it was only for armv7. but now, it has changed
I hope that is to take advantage of these links to get to Rom is complete and stable,This Rom like a dream for x8

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't know, but this thread may be closed if there is no use. Because I saw so many MIUI ports there, and I thought hey, Xperia X8 is somewhat related to X10, so porters can take advantage..
EDIT2: Thanks for letting me know though.
And since I couldn't reply to jahlovePL's tread, thanks to him for the great contribution. I just wanted to say that I can help you test your MIUI roms.

I don't mean to s.h.i.t. on your parade brother but what does compiling something that someone else made have anything to do with original android development? I mean, I admit you're doing a great service for people who are unable to compile CM10 themselves but all you have to do is wait a day or two for TeamHacksung to make a few changes then repo sync and then compile. This should be in general discussion at the very least.

You should add "unofficial" to the thread title. It's currently a bit misleading if you ask me.
Plus, you should ask a mod to move this to the "Android development" section.
This morning I tried Cyanogenmod10 (v4.1.1) in my sgs2 and given me some poor results:
Total 4150 vs. 5880 AnTuTu of I9100XXLQB
and 2420 vs. 3750 Quafrant of I9100XXLQB.
So far I have not seen any problems other than that I see very slow the JB and drains much battery.
I wait for a more successful version.
Out of curiosity, do you think you could do builds with the Linaro toolchain? Would be different from the other builds.

I won't really test these, first because he is really like a noob (no offence in any kind) as I remembered so much spamming question in Jelly Bean threads before CM10 released, second because I have own box to compile CM10 with latest changes (or prefer to use more experienced devs builds like PieR's or D4rkn3SyS's), third this isn't any helpful for CM10 developers and not any more for users, you won't probably know how to fix any problem.
I'm not saying I'm better either, but some porting teached me something and I don't want to publish my work, just to don't read under it what's not working/is bugged 100x and people flaming & asking the same with new nightly & flaming again. Yeah, but for people who can't compile ourself, this is good just in cas they want up to date CM features.
good luck mate
