Played with 2.1 on x10 today!!

Visited a friend who works at the head office. Got to play with 2.1 on the x10 there. Very smooth, seems almost ready. Looking forward to its release

The last person who started a thread saying they had been using 2.1 on the x10 hasn't been seen in over 2 weeks.
Make sure they havent tapped your phonelines

Tell us is it has MT and if there is changes on mediascape and timescape .

The status bar is bigger, which I don't like. The star wars style animation on the menu is removed, the colour seems to have been extended, no banding visible at all. It was running the latest build, called update 2

You mentioned the star wars menu animation is removed? how does it look like then, slide up drawer?
I dont like the status bar bigger either, its like the leaked screen shots we had long time ago.

You know when you scroll in eclair through the app icons, they kind of flip over at the top and move into the distance. They removed that. Don't know why.

Haha thats funny The x10 colors are limited just try to change the wallpaper to anything besides the one from stock wallpapers and you will see the colors gradient is just bad

Can u guys share some samples ? pictures and hd videos, one of the things im most concerned about atrix aside the glossy plastic body is the camera, my god my milestone's camera is horrible! im so mad that the droid bionic got an 8 mp camera

The camera is ok but not great. Compared to the 8mp one on the inspire it can't touch the inspire. I wouldn't depend on it solely but Like I said its just ok.

I absoluterly DO NOT agree with you. I had 3 inspires (for various reasons) and I thought the camera (like every HTC device I have ever owned) was thoroughly dissappointing, especially the flash. Once you figure out the Atrix camera, its very good. I find you need to push it one stop as it tends to underexpose, but some of the images I have taken have been great.

I also believe the quality is better under 5MP than it is on Widescreen

Yea, seriously...and that was VGA. For real, who cares? In reality I doubt people use their phone camera THAT much, or at least as much as they thought they would. For me it's nice to have one JIC. But overall, I HARDLY use it.

I tried douzens of camera app 360 HDR FX etc
but they have either too much option or not fit for atrix screen res
it's a shame,...
camera is the only downside on atrix imo

leegoon84, try wiping the camera lens glass clean, I suspect you have a finger print or something on it to cause the haze. Also, determine where bright lights are coming from and use your other hand or something to block that light from hitting the camera - put a shadow over the lens.

You have to clean your lens before you take pictures silly willies!

I also wanted to restate that our lens tends to pick up fingerprints like crazy. The haze is mostly due to that issue... it's annoying but just remember to wipe the lens before photos...

+1 on that. The evo's 8mp cam was a huge let downit always had that annoying blueish hue to it even after I adjust the settings.

It wasnt even the blue hue to it that bothered me, It was the fact that even when it was focused the images could have been crisper.

Wow. I haven't had a chance to play with my camera yet but those are some phenomenal pictures, I agree about the EVO I really didn't like the camera on that. 8MP of crap isn't very good...

This is exciting i just got the S2 for my bro and found that the Arc's performance is no way near to S2's performance - i credit TouchWiz - something i feel SE should definitely improve upon

SE is definitely ready to show us something new, maybe another Xperia which suffers from cracks on plastics? Or previous year's hardware..? We will all find out soon!

That's my opinion too, it seems like X10 but in the second photo??

to be honest, i did not get the S2 for the same reason - i like the SE UI better, but after 2 days of use - i dont mind on the UI when i get the awesome performance

These pictures were taken with both firmwares about 8 minutes apart (updated in the park) on the same phone and in roughly the same light. I would have been faster but there was a Dutch family taking pictures and I didn't want to have them in the picture.

Perfect! I was wondering if the improvement only applied to Superior Auto mode, Burst, Panorama and what not but not the Manual. Turns out it seems to really be on their post-processing software and not just the various modes!
This made my day and I'm excited to shoot even more stuff with the new firmware. Thanks!
P.S. 8 Minute update time is really fast! I updated mine through SUS around 2 hours

I had the download finished, all it took was the flash and reboot. Was amazed, too, considering it takes about 3 hours for my HTC phones to upgrade.

It seems that the old version can't focus accurately, or it was a Gauss Blur filter in the old algorithm.
