Hey Guys, How are you all doing, hope all is well at your end.
Since I got my DHD, I'm Suffering to find descent quality Ringtones, they are so lame and poor, that made me COMPOSE These!
-----------------------
I have created some Exquisite Ringtones for myself using my Musical Gear and Keyboard, and people started asking about these Tones, and I used to Proudly reply them back with
"These are My Compositions"
Since many people liked them, I thought that I should share it with my XDA Community.
All composed and created using superior quality, and has been amplified as well, to cover for the Low Volume Syndrome (lol) of the Desire HD, except for Rooted users with modified Kernels that has increased Volume levels.
Some Info:
1. Average file size = 500 KB
2. Average file Length = 28 Seconds
3. Various Genres for various tastes
4. I gathered them into an Album to make it easier to find them
5. Album Name = Limited Desire HD Ringtones
6. If you like a Full Version of Specific Tone, I mean the Full-Length Song, then just ask for it
7. I have given each tone a NAME, its basically the name of the Full Length file
8. Encoding Info = MP3, 128 KB Avg. Stereo
9. Tones can be used as ringtones, Alarm tones, or generally Notifications
10.Included 2 SMS, Shorter tones, if you Like!
Installation instructions:
Create the following directory structure on your SD Card root folder (all lower case):
media/audio/notifications
media/audio/ringtones
Put the mp3's in these folders, depending on whether you want to use it as a ringtone or notification sound. Go to Settings -> Sound & Display -> "Phone ringtone" or "Notification sound". Your newly added mp3's should now be available for selection in those lists :
Final Suggestion:
Just listen to them using your Stereo Headphones first, you will be able judge better which one you like more, if at all (lol).
Feedback are more than welcome
Wael
Thanks!
Thanks. There are some very nice ones here.
Forgot to say
If you want to be able to easily find all the tones and not spread-ed among the default ones, then try to rename them like the attached photo, just a suggestion.
You can use Rename Master (FREE) to do that!!
Thank you!
Thanks!! They are perfect. I really liked "Rock you" and "Rock 'n Roll".
May I have full length versions of those?
Will do my best to upload them asap.
thanks dude awesomeness

Very nice tones but I would never use them as a ringtone or notification, it's too much. Also my ringtone position has been filled long time ago Moorea

I'm glad that I could contribute to XDA, and happy that you guys liked them.
Will upload some new ones soon.

Coupled with a "Hello Kitty" theme?!?
That has to be the most nauseating Universal yet....
Here are two of mine.
The "Numa Numa" Dance is still very popular around here, so, here's Dragostea Din Tei by O-Zone.
Also, the dance version of "California," the theme to the teen show O.C. on Fox, is pretty cool sounding.
Both in WMA format.
I have the Codec "chirp" sound from Metal Gear Solid
I have also the final fantasy advent children ringtone
ctu ringtone does not work...can somebody plz post it here?
I have the MTV ringtone .
Starts simple and not loud, and the longer you wait the louder and cooler it sounds .

Answer me
I use this....
What an ANNOYING ringtone that last one is - and fancy getting a chap that can't pronounce his R's/W's to record a speaking ringtone!
I liked the intro theme to 24 so I've sampled it from an episode, and have attached it - enjoy! Great to use as an incoming SMS tone.

BTT, i actually downloaded the OC ringtone from your site and it's still my main one! kind of embarrasing though when the OC ringer goes off in public and everyone gives you that look - we all know how loud the Jasjar's volume is.
Try doing that with the Numa Numa song and you'll get snickers like I do.
Perhaps I should make one for the "Chronicles of Narnia" rap by SNL.
That is hilarious!

Bit boring but I'm for the old style business ring tones. The ones you used to get on phones!! There are a few via link to choose from

Is that the Bernie Marsden/Bryony "Pick Up The Phone" you're using?
Ringtone is theme from lone ranger.
Text alert is a small clip from monty python - arrow sound hitting body then voice saying "message for you sir".
Alarm is robin williams "good morning vietnam"
I use this one...
makes ya nervous.. hehe
Anyone got an old SMS tone - like the old Nokia phones have ?
Cheers
Mark
You mean the 'beep-beep, beep-beep' one? If so I think I might have a midi of it somewhere...

Would be grateful if you have !

Could easily make your own with e.g. Audacity...
Generate > Tone...
Waveform: Sine
Frequency: 1750Hz
Amplitude: 1.0
Length: 0.1s
End key
Generate > Silence...
Length: 0.1s
End Key
Generate > Tone...
( Next bit is if you use a repeating sound for text messages only. )
Generate > Silence...
Length: 0.5s
Hold shift and press the play button for repeat play
beep-beep .. beep-beep .. beep-beep
Obviously you can easily change the tone of the beeps, the pause between the two, the pause before playing again, and the volume, by just varying any of the above.
File > Export as WAV...
beepbeep.wav
Copy "beepbeep.wav" to your PocketPC's Windows folder.
You can now pick it as the tone for your incoming text messages.
One note of warning - these simple sine waves play back very well on the tiny speakers, so expect them to be quite *loud*.
Further notes: you can probably use lower sampling rates/bits, and even save as an mp3.
Result of the above steps is attached.
Mark, try this one. Took the original Nokia 'Message' tone and converted it to .wav. Then ran it through Audacity (thanks for the walkthrough, ZeBoxx, very useful) to up the volume a little and tweak the speed.
Sounds pretty good IMHO and is now my text message tone of choice. Hope it's what you were looking for too.
Cheers
PS I know it's too big but I don't have enough skill to reduce it, sorry. ZeBoxx???
Alt SMS Tone
I use the attached intel ditty, seems a good one for SMS and no-one else uses it
Until now !!! but I know we users are a select bunch, so no worries
Hays
Here's the morse code type one, using Audacity.
These "classic" tones are great. Does anyone know of a site that might have more?
I'd be particularly interested in .imy tones from Motorola phones. They're kind of like midi files in that they only contain musical notes rather than digital sound.
Cheers Guys - mucho appreciated
These are just what I need - plain & simple (and also loud) tones.
Thanks
Mark

Pretty easy
Click on the down arrow next to the Message2 track title
pick "Split Stereo Track"
close one of them ([X] button on the left of the track)
Click on the down arrow next to the Message2 track title again
Pick "Mono"
Size is cut in half now
Then select the bunch of silence at the end - WM5 doesn't repeat the SMS sound ('repeat' option is disabled), so there's no use in that pause being there..
..therefore, hit Del.
Now save again, and you should get pretty much the attached file.
Audacity is really great for this - you can easily add tremolo/echo/fades/etc. and get nice and clear, loud (due to the simple wave form), distinctive tones.
Of course it's not as 'hip' ( do they say that anymore ? ) as the latest $5 RealTone from Jamster!, but I say: screw that.
I searched the registry, found nothing, searched through some folders and found nothing either.
So as the subject says, is it possible to change these types of sounds? I've got some great sounds in mind. E.g. the sonic the hedgehog ring, for this event in particular.
... For new text I have the sonic 2 - 1 up sound
If you could help that would be great!
Hay there, yep this can be done, thou first you need the new message or notifcation clip to be a .wav file type, so you need to convert the items to wav first.
Once you done that place the newly converted wav file into the windows folder, not into windows>rings like you would do for ringtones.
Then goto settings, and notifcation and sound menu and select the new one there.
Hope this helps.
Ooo
I've been trying to figure this out, how could I change the sound that plays in my ear for callwaiting? lol i feel stupid because I can't figure this out!!!
Thanks!
Yup, I am not too happy in this realm as well. My busy tone sounds like a Modem that is trying to handshake, and that is when it decides that it is going to alert me. I would really like to swap out some of that stuff.
I beleive my expertise will come in handy here
There are many sounds which can be changed which ARE NOT visible in the "Sounds And Notifications" control panel. They can be accessed by pointing your reg editor of choice to...
"HKey_Current_User\ControlPanel\Sounds"
We'll take the busy tone as an example...
Navigate to "HKey_Current_User\ControlPanel\Sounds\BusyTone"
In there you'll see:
(Default)..................(value not set)
Catagory..................InCall
Script.......................apr
Sound......................HTCBusy.wav
Change the sound one to any file on your pda. (Must be an mp3 or a wave file) (Include the full path if the sound file isn't in "/windows") The changes should take effect immediately, if they don't you've not done it correctly...
Hope this helps you all...
Note: To my knowledge, you can't change the message sent tone, sorry...

Rusty
Hi all,
Maybe a silly question, but I did a search and couldn't find anything really
I'm trying to get a sound into the drop down menu in (sounds & notifications) the notifications tab.
It was a MP3 file, which I have converted to a wav file, but this still won't be picked up by the menu
I have the O2 XDA Mini S...
Any help most appriciated
put them into \Windows
Cheers hanmin...jobs done
Another noob question please...
is it possible to attach a ringtone sound to a contact...I know you can add a voice tag, but I want to attach different ring sounds to different name contacts
In WINDOWS/rings add your ringtone clip there. Then in contacts, when you edit or make a new contact, just below the name it says picture, then work, cell, etc numbers, then ringtone...click that and a list should pop up for you to choose from. Keep your ringtones to about 20 second clips, and reduce the size to 100-200kb per clip. I found these things work best, and I've been making ringtones for a few years now.
akashastrega, that brill...many thanks for your help.
Just got a sound that says "warning, warning, its the wife, its the wife" with a siren in the background...absolute brilliant
Hi Everyone,
Getting my phone ready for use means every thing from installing the softwares, reloading contacts to themes to ringtones.
Thanks to HTC MP3 trimmer software, I made 3 superb ringtones to honor the King of Pop today. I would like to share them with you.

They're good but I'm already using one that I made yesterday.
Its from the song Leave me Alone.
It works really well as a ringtone because its only 35 seconds long kicks in right on the chorus and fades out on the last 2 seconds.
Obviously if this is problem from a copyright point of view then I apologise and feel free to delete the post.
cool
Thanks , I need more
