[Q] Clockwork Mod HD2 - HD2 General

Hi! I've got 2 question for everyone that could help me...
1) How clockwork mod work in HD2?
2) How could i remove it from my device? (task29/ rom Flashing / SD rom Flashing)
Thanks in advance!

Im no expert when it comes to CWM but I can give you a brief explanation....
You need to flash MAGLDR to your phone first (Assuming you already have HSPL 2.08).
Then flash CWM. Which you access through the MAGLDR menu to flash your ROM.
It can be removed by entering bootloader and flashing a WM6.5 / 6.5.x ROM...
See this thread for a complete guide to going over to the dark side...
Hope that helps..........

Thank you!
I was scared about removing the clockwork mod! There are tons of guides & videos about the installation, but nothing about the unistallation!
I've tried some DAF Android Builds, but now i can try .zip rom quietly!
Great!!

[Q] Can someone help me... please..

I'm here with one week old HTC HD2 (TMOUS) unlocked version (from BestBuy). I bought this to install Android. But after reading/searching hours and hours about installing instructions, I'm kinda confused now. I can install but don't know which one to begin and what goes after... pretty much the order of installation.
Currently, I have,
Windows Mobile 6.5 stock ROM
RAM 567MB
Flash memory size 1024MB
ROM version 3.14.531.1(04666) WWE
Radio version 2.15.50.14 (do I need to reflash radio?)
Manila version 2.5.20181424.0
Do I need to re-flash Radio?
I prefer to install cLK bootloader after reading 'senior member T-Macgnolia's' tutorial. Can someone kindly tell me, what to install and in which order?
How do I find cLK versions of HD2 Android ROM's? Any suggestions for better ROM?
Hi!!!
I don't use clk, I prefer magldr, but this is a guide to use clk:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=901305
hope it'll help you, otherwise someone else can help you better than me.
Your radio version I think is correct, I use it too, like all other people I think...
You find clk version of HD2 rom's generally in first posts of thread about NAND rom in HD2 Android NAND Development:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=928
Roms: if you want a Sense rom, this is the best in my hopinion, very fast and smooth for a sense rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1250703
I actually use this, has some problems (bluetooth, camera) but I like it very very much...
Otherwise, if you prefer non-sense rom, this is the best in my hopinion:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951
Your radio is correct, but you should flash HSPL before you flash custom WM ROMS or android builds. Ensure you flash the correct version of HSPL for your TMOUS. And as for the better builds, you should try them out yourself. It really depends on what you want.Sense,CM7,MIUI,MAGLDR,CLK...

Try reading the guides in the sitckies of the NAND Android forum, especially MSkip's tutorial on how to flash NAND Android with Clockwork Mod.
Your radio is correct.
Install HardSPL (HSPL) 2.08 first.
Then install MAGLDR (I would recommend this as it's easier than CLK from what I've read.)
Select your ROM (don't flash yet)
In the OP of the ROM there will be guides as to which CWM partition you need etc, just download the right partition size and flash it. One of the reasons I recommend MSkip's tutorial is that all of the files are at the bottom of the post.
Flash the ROM via CWM.
Seeing as in the OP you said you understand how to flash the things, you should understand that I hope. Good Luck.
Thanks Ty5982, I followed one guide and installed cyanogenmod 7 ROM. What I did was
HSPL 2.08
(didn't touch radio since it's correct)
MAGLDR Bootloader 1.13
ClockworkMod Recovery v1.3 (made v1.3 150MB partition)
then went to 8. AD Recovery and installed ROM on the SD card using ClockworkMod Recovery.
As you said now I'm really interested about PYRAMID ROM since it has SENSE. Can you please tell me where to start with now?
Do I have to remove 'ClockworkMod Recovery'? or do I need to install RECOVERY 2.4?

Thanks for the input. I did my first ROM installation... whhooohhoo . Thanks for all the help you all give here.
Now I'm really interested about PYRAMID ROM. But installation instructions doesn't say anything about CWM partition and it talk about different tools (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1185087)
Can you please tell me how I can remove this ROM and install PYRAMID ROM. Where should I start?
explanation made easier

then select wipe cache, wipe data-factory reset, then go back and select ADVANCED and wipe dalvik cache, then select PARTITION SD CARD, select 2048M then select 0M,takes about 5 min.
THIS WILL WIPE UR SD CARD,SO BACK ANYTHING UP U NEED
then put the rom on ur sd card
go to magldr menu AGAIN and select ad recovery but this time select install zip from sd card, then select choose zip from sd card, choose ur rom, should start with NDT if its the same as mine lol, takes 10 mins max..........then your all done.........
when it boots up and the setup wizard appears,DO NOT SET UP,NO GOOGLE ACCOUNT OR WIFI,JUST KEEP ON CLICKIN NEXT,NEXT,NEXT,then when the home screen appears finally lol go to ur apps and click on QUICKBOOT and choose reboot, this time, fill in everythin on ur setup wizard..........then when it goes to the home screen, leave it for a min,REBOOT FOR THE LAST TIME,then the rom should settle......hope u enjoy it as much as i do.........

Thanks for the instructions (hit the button ) and I greatly appreciate it. When I change FLASH file, how important is that numbers and how it change the behavior of my ROM?
I'm asking because I saw your first reply and went to SENSE 3.0 PYRAMID V 6.0 ROM and installed it. But original thread instruct to change " system ya 160M " and yours 180M.
Some how I managed to install it and first it was okay but I noticed ROM is kind of slow and Wi-Fi didn't work.
Any help with that issue??? (anyway I'm gonna re-flash it with your instructions)

Help - NAND installation MGLDR

Hi guys
Im currently an SD user.
I want to install this via nand: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1250703
I used to use MGLDR etc, is there an easy way to install this? As i cannot find exact info. As there is stuff like CLK and clockwork recovery mod.
Can anynone provide me an easy installation method to do this?
I will really appreciated. I love Android, i dont think i want to boot via WM anymore, and im sure this will also increase the performance? Thanks!!
Have you even tried to look for everything yourself?
I mean, you should have looked for "what is cLK, MAGLDR and CWM?"After doing that little search you should have known that the easiest way to do it is through the NAND toolkit stickied in the NAND forum after (of course) choosing which bootloader you want to use
I would start here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044830
If you get stuck on something, just ask and I'll see if I can help you out.
after install MGLDR 1.13, my HD2 Doesnt start
Hi,
After installing MGLDR 1.13 my HTC HD2 doesnt start, I have just the HTC screen(whit screnn with HTC in green), it's freeze no menu.... nothing at all, just the white HTC Screen
Can please some one help me
You need to install a rom... download a daf file rom for your hd2 on to your computer... unzip it... run the daf file... do all this your phone have to be plug in to your computer... in magldr... select USB flash... wait for it to say.... USB....USB. then run daf file that you just unzipped....
Or install clockwork mod recovery (install through USB flasher) with the right partition for the rom.... the rom have to be for magldr... the downloaded rom also have to be transfer to your SD... but into magldr... select ad recovery... then follow prompt... this is the best way to flash rom...

Google or Search here how to flash HSLP to a version needed for this ROM. Be sure also having the right MAGDLR version installed after HSPL. (easier to change than SPL).
I recommend using CWM. (press long red button while booting - go 8. Recovery AD - mount USB - get .zip of ROM on SD and install from .zip)
I recommend you to make sure your SPL version and MAGLDR versions are right before continuing. Also a total wipe or SD formatting (just search here for the stickies) must be (optional) done.
The white screen comes from ? Just guess ? Did you install a ROM ?
If it were no rom flashed, it would stop at the magldr menu. If a phone goes straight to bootscreen after flashing magldr it means either the spl isn't 2.08.hspl or the radio isn't a 2.xx.50.
@neolan enter bootloader, set 2.08.hspl, re enter bootloader, flash radio 2.15.50, the phone will now start into magldr and you can proceed flashing cwm.

How can I wipe my android rom from my hd2 and start fresh?

What I'm trying to say is, when I got my hd2 It already had magldr 1.13 and a nice gingerbread rom installed. What I want to know is how can I go back to a clean Leo and start fresh so that I can learn how to install android myself. I could use some help with the i android install afterward as well. thanks in advance.

You could use the hd2 toolkit from this post. It will wipe your rom (task29 option), install mgldr, then you would be good to go to install recovery and another rom.
I have just been using it, its a great tool. I think this would only apply to nand roms, sd roms maybe do it differently?
Peace
Edit: also, I found post #4 from this thread invaluable help for flashing my first leo android rom.
If you truly want to go to a "Fresh LEO" download a stock leo winmo rom, change the .exe to .zip find the RUU or something like RUU_signed.nbh ( should be like 270MB in size) and change the name to LEOIMG.NBH and transfer it a 4GB or less microSD card and insert into phone. Start the phone holding the red power button and the volume down button. it should go into the bootloader and flash stock radio/spl/rom and you can start from scratch. CM7 was the best thing to happen to the HD2. CAN'T WAIT FOR CM9!!!!
Okay people now I REALLY need your help, okay so I flashed clockwork mod recovery through magldr, and thats working fine, but after doing so, when it tries to boot it says something like failed to load kernel, so I figured that roms toast so I used the option in magldr to "Ad hard reset" because the hd2 toolkits task 29 wipe kept failing as well. So I need help finding a rom that will install from clockwork mod recovery. Im hoping it will take care if my kernel problem. Any links to Cwm roms would be great and thanks in advance.

Pretty much any newer ROM will be flashed through CWM. Just look at the OP and flash the correct partition size, then place the 'MAGLDR' version of the ROM (zipped folder) on your SD card and flash
Wait lemme see if I have this correct. When I see roms that say magldr version, I can flash THOSE through CWM recovery? If u could help me find cm7 that I can flash through cwm I'd be most appreciative. Thanks again.

Any CM7 ROM in the NAND Development section really. Typhoon, Hyperdroid, Dorimanx etc.
first check the CWM recovery requirements of the ROM(it will say something like CWM 5/120/5) then check your current recovery if its the same. If not you need to download the zip file for the CWM recovery required by the ROM. unzip the file on a computer and run the .exe and follow prompts on the screen(doing this will completely delete the current ROM install on your phones internal memory). Once the correct recovery is flash on your phone, you can flash the ROM itself

[SOLVED] boot loop on NAND Sense ROM

everytime I've tried to install Sense ROM(almost all new Sense ROM) on NAND its always bootloop or stuck on the android boot splash screen.
Have tried changing SD, task29, etc. but no luck with it.
does anyone have this problem?
I'm running Magldr 1.13, CWR 5.0.2.6 radio 2.15.50.14.
And this problem ONLY happen on Sense ROM, have tried others and all are working fine.
I'm not a dev or programer,so don't know much bout this.hopefully someone could help.thanks
[SOLVED]
Have tried most of the ROM install instruction (flash install task29) but with no success, then something old came across my mind, should try the old way, so I flashed WinMo stock ROM then install Magldr 1.13 directly and just follow with the instruction and its a success.
I think the ROM dev should put a Most recomended instruction with flashing stock ROM.thanks for the help to all

okay, are you following the guide exactly as it says? I'm assuming you have a European model HTC right? You need to create Ext on SD card.
I've tried all of these ROMs and I never had any boot loops. Make sure you do partition as it says on each ROM.
So for example on the first ROM you need to create 5/220/5 if not it will do BOOT LOOP

[Q] HD2 stuck at boot: bricked?

Hi,
a friend gave me an HD2 which stopped booting about three months ago, when he tried to install android on it, without really knowing what he was doing.
I have a bit of experience in installing custom roms in some android devices (HTC Vision, Samsung P1000...), but I know nothing about HD2 or any windows phones.
This is what it says after switching on:
tinypic.com/r/2hywdp4/5
This is after switching on with windows key pressed:
tinypic.com/r/29y43fb/5
This is after switching on with volume key pressed:
tinypic.com/r/25i3f9c/5
[sorry I can't create links because I'm new to xda]
Is there a way to go back to a working status?
If I fix it, I'll earn some glory and a free beer.
The final aim would be to install a NAND android rom, preferably CM7 or similar.
Thanks a lot.
Correct me if i'm wrong guys, but this pic :
tinypic.com/r/25i3f9c/5
is the bootloader mod and it says that you have HSPL 2.08
In my opinion, you just have to flash back a windows 6.5 ROM and follow the whole process to get android (Flash MAGLDR, [....] , and flash a CM7 NANDROID Rom using the clockworkmod) refering to the tutorials in the NANDROID section.
Its not bricked. Just restart the process to install Android as jediL pointed out and you should be good to go. Check here for a detailed explanation on how.
Ok the pictures help a lot. From what I see the first picture is what you see when you boot a HD2 that has clk installed for the custom bootloader but does not have as Android ROM in memory to boot. This is the only reason you well ever see clk at all if you just power on a HD2 with clk installed.
The second pictures is clk trying to boot into recovery but is not able to. It probably either has some kind of problem booting the flashed version or it just does not have a custom recovery flashed to it. My bet is it does not have a custom recovery flashed to it. As most people have problems Glasgow.g a recovery after flashing clk if they are not using the HD2 NAND Toolkit.
The third picture is the the stock bootloader of the HD2 and yes it shows you have HSPL 2.08 installed so you are good with HSPL and do not need to flash HSPL 2.08 to your HD2.
Now to get you on to getting Android up and running. Seeing as you already have clk on your HD2 you do not need to flash it. You do need to flash a custom recovery and you can either check out the guide linked in my sig to flash it via fasboot comands manually or you can use the HD2 NAND Toolkit to flash it in a more automatic way, or to be more specific a more noob friendly way. There is a link to the toolkit in the guide linked in my sig.
You need to pick out what Android ROM you want to use and read the first few post by the ROM chef to see what partition size you need to have and use the Toolkit to repartition the NAND memory to that size. Next download the .zip file for the ROM, make sure you get the version that is for clk. Some ROMs have only one version though that works with MAGLDR and clk. Next copy the .zip to the root of your SD card and then power on your HD2 holding down the home button and your recovery will boot up. Then just find the option that says install from SD card and then select the ROM file and flash it.
I installed HD2 NAND Toolkit.
I executed the following operations:
- Wipe (Task29)
- cLK repartition (150mb)
- cLK install recovery
then I rebooted into CWM recovery and installed the HyperDroid rom.
Now I have a fully working CM7-based android phone!
Thanks a lot!
