Nope, but I have an Epic which I think will make a "epic" combination... har har LOL Anyways yeah I will prob use mine to tether my Eee pad once it actually released here.
+1, though i may be moving on to the a500 if they dont announce something soon...
The Evo is one of my 15 smartphones in my collection in fact.
yep yep
also have an evo
Evo here!
10charmander
I have an evo and i am looking at getting the Transformer.
I primarily want a Ereader to read books.
I almost feel that you can do all the same things with your evo that you can do with the transformer.
games, pictures, videochat, email, facebook, watch movies.
Mainly I see the pros to get it is.
Bigger screen: better for movies and ereader
Keyboard: document editing, emails
Battery life: is the main reason for me.
I like the idea of a tablet but I have a laptop and a evo.
Pros over a netbook/ laptop that the transformer has is easier ereading and battery life, and portability "weight."
I was just wondering what are you guys using it for?
HD2 FTW ;-)
(But with Evo Rom )
Evo here also.
Evo here as well
just curious, what does the [OT] added to the post title mean? sorry if I should have known didn't see anything about it in the stickies
Off Topic since it's not eee focused.

Evo & Nook Color - both rocking CM7. The wife actually monopolizes the NC, so I'm thinking the Transformer will be my personal device.
How will we tether Evo with Eee Transformer?
I also have an Evo and plan to get the Transformer when its released here in the US.
How do you guys plan to tether the transformer to our Evo?
I have been searching around for a solution, and so far my findings.. is to use the Bluetooth. Found an application called pdanet that will enable BT DUN in the Evo (without the need to root the Evo, or subscribe to the Sprint tethering plan).
But will the Transformer support BT DUN? I read somewhere, they said Honeycomb only supports BT PAN instead of BT DUN.
Any other ideas will be greatly appreciated.
I've got an EVO and patently awaiting the release of the transformer in the US.
I'll be using mine both at work and at home. Will let the fiancee keep recipes on it, and use it when she's cooking, or for ebooks. Although I'm sure this will result in buying a second transformer....but that's all good if it ends up meeting all the hype
Another US EVO here (and a gtablet..)
Just waiting for Asus to let us pull the trigger!
<---- Evo owner here, can't wait for Transformer!!

After reading all the problems people were and are having. I was very nervous to receive mine. But I have had it a few days now and am in love with my xoom. I haven't had one reboot or anything. One force close on an unsupported app. It has played ALL my videos so far. (Rock player) I don't have high quality 1080p videos though. Anyone else not having problems? Or is the xoom a bust?

i love your xoom too
I've had minimal issues with mine. I already started a thread for those, however they were just minor glitches that a simple reboot solved. I have been unable to get 1080 to play on my xoom though, so I'm currently rocking 720. Maybe I should look into rock player, I'm just using stock.
I love my Xoom too. I've had it since Thursday and have been playing with it off an on. I'm impressed with the battery life. I haven't had too many problems with it so far just one browser force close and the Weatherbug app misbehaved so I manually closed it causing its widgets not to show up properly on the homescreen until I rebooted. Other than that it has been smooth sailing. I can't wait to see more tablet apps!
Only 3 peoples love self xoom? This is so sad! I just wait GSM version and realy think, maybe select another Tablet?(((

My xoom is beastly yo. Lol and I work for t-mobile hehe
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
The Xoom is probably the best tech device I've ever bought. It's blazing fast, easy to use, top quality device. Great hardware, and fantastic software, that should only improve additionally. No real problems whatsoever, even if there were some hiccups the overall experience would push that aside. Only minor quibble I can even think up is lack of Google Voice support at launch... but that's just being picky. Family and friends flock to use it or just watch whenever I pull it out. My favorite way to browse the internet and use Google Reader, compared to either my Captivate or my MacBook Pro... there just isn't a comparison, the Xoom blows them anyway. I love this thing.
I tried doing a search and I don't think it has been posted but out of curiosity, anyone who has a Xoom - what is your phone model? I'm curious what the combo of Android devices are.
I have an EVO. I'm guessing EVO, Epic, the Droid 1/2/Global/, and Droid X will be what people carry the most with their Xoom.
And I can honestly say yes, the Xoom is really, REALLY, fast. Oddly enough, however, it doesn't make me feel like my EVO is slow as hell. That's usually what happens when I get used to a fast computer and then have to use a slower, older machine. Of course the EVO isn't that old, but the main difference between the processors seem to be the fluidity and quick/sharpness of opening programs, moving from screen to screen, etc.
Does anyone's Xoom make you wish your phone upgrade was just around the corner?
I was actually wondering what phone I'll get next. I think I'm eligible for an upgrade in the next 3-4 months. Since it's a company phone I have limited say in what the choice will be. At the moment I have the iPhone 3Gs and it works nicely with the Xoom. Let's see what will be out in summer

Using the Droid X. Had it since it first came out and am currently running Liberty 1.5. Always loved it and didn't feel like rebuilding things to try out CM again -- I tried CM when I first grabbed the X but ended up switching to Liberty after it's release -- I was very ROM trigger happy... After a quick 1.5 release I never looked back. Since the Xoom came out I've left the X alone and moved onto configuring the Xoom.

I see the last thread with questions like this was from March, so I just wanted to get the latest about the EPIC...
Are there GPS, wifi, or keyboard issues or these are fixed by one or multiple ROMS available?
Are many devs still working on this device or had it been somewhat abandoned?
is CM7 pretty good without major bugs ?
will the battery last a full day with most ROMs with regular use (i.e. checking email, some web browing, maybe an hour of music streaming, etc)
Netflix works on some ROMs, right?
I have a Hero with CM7 and I like, but amazon still has (and BB just ended yesterday) free EPIC for upgrades, so thinking about getting one. I would get the EVO, but it's still $150 almost anywhere and at that price I would rather pay $200 for the E3D...but from $0 to $200 there's still a big difference
Thanks in advance

1. No problems with those in almost any ROM.
2. Devs are still around and work is still being done.
3. CM7 is still in Alpha 4 but its being worked on by TeamHacksung.
4. Cant really answer about batter since there are more factors than the ones you mentioned like signal quality in your area. Battery has gotten better though.
5. Yes, Netflix works on some ROMs.
Side note: Hero development was and still is pretty big compared to the Epic, dont expect the same amount of development for it.

Thanks for the answer, but wow, Hero has more development than the Epic? I wouldn't have expected that. I was going to get the Epic from BB yesterday, but the one I went to sold out and the next one only had two and I ran out of time, so I either get it from Amazon or wait for another sale
The Epic is a very awesome device and is adequte for your your eveyday uses on top of mods. The Epic has tons of ROMs, themes, and other customization tools that have been worked on the past few months which made many of them "bug free". The full QWERTY keyboard comes in hand which really makes this device "EPIC".
If you are a real hard core developer and wouldn't mind living without the keyboard then I would recommend the Nexus which is very simular but with monster hardware, like the dual core processor for increased speed and performance. The down fall to these new devices is that there has not been as much development put into them yet, so customization is not as optional compared to the "Epic". The epic is an advance telecommunicational device not a cell phone but unfortunately there are more cell phone users on the sprint network that don't understand the power of the Epic. I hope this clearifies your decision. I hope that you decied to live the "Epic Life".

Nexus S has dual core? Since when?
Also, Hero has more development since it was one of the first Android phones for Sprint, it was one of the nicest ones for its time and it was an HTC phone. Samsung tends to keep away developers. After the Evo came out, a few devs jumped ship to that but there were too many devs to let the phone die. Hell, look at Deca, I was so happy when he said he got an Epic knowing all the stuff he did for the Hero, I still cant wait what he can do for the Epic.

The keyboard was a big factor for me in choosing the Epic over the Evo. I still think I made the right choice, but I *never* use the keyboard. It's just too easy to type with swype. Whenever I ultimately decide to upgrade, it will be to a phone with no keyboard.

If you root it, its a good phone.
GPS Aids is a must, GPS is golden now.
4G only works outside...
The Viper Rom is the best, just use Root Uninstaller to delete the teams bloatware.
Dont overclock (only fun for benches), its not worth the battery lose/glitches.. Just use setcpu to change the governor to Performance.. Alot of games play good with Performance gov. and clocks set to as low as 400 mhz.
Only complaint: No gyro. Dont give me any lines about this! I wanna play Nova with a gyro not a touch screen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I WILL MOVE OVER TO IPHONE JUST FOR THe GYRO, if still no phones/apps on android support it in Nov.
the keyboard is great for using Terminal Em. or punching in passwords. But ya it might not be worth the bulk..

which ones better i kno the shift has better support and stuff but i really wanted the tmobile g2 but they dnt sell them any more so i was wondering between these three which is the best and the shift is more like the g2 except for sense
If you google 'phonearena *phone model* specs' you'll be able to see some of the differences between the phones. I was stuck between the Transform and EVO Shift myself a week ago when I picked up my new phone and silly enough the EVO won because HTC shipped it with a word processor app (I'm big into using my phone for rough draft documents). This was the big seller for me since I came from using winmo which always came with a mini version of MS Word.

The epic and shift blow the transform out of the water. But my wife has the epic, and the software for it sucks. Not as much custom stuff out there for it, and the stock software is so buggy. That screen on the epic is sure nice though...
