[Q] Ultimate Droid 3.2.5 Ringtone Volume - HD2 General

Hi.
I've kindda new to this android on hd2 stuff, but i've got a clue with the whole Formatting and Flashing stuff,my question is the ringtone volume is set to maximum but still i feel that the ringer isn't like the volume in wm6.5,so i looked around and found that it could be fixed with dsp manager,i tried to modify the frequency response chart but it led to a sharp squeaky voice.
so any help would be appreciated.
my Rom is:
Ultimate Droid 3.2.5 v2 (NAND).

at&t 8525 Ringtone WAY too loud, unable to adjust. HELP!!!

Greetings.
After searching through the forums, I have what I believe to be a different variation of the volume issues with the TyTN models. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
When using .mp3's (and even preloaded tones) for custom ringer-ID's, my phone defaults to maximum blow-my-speaker and distort-the-crap-out-of-the-music volume. My device volume slider is set to the second notch, as in one away from off.
I have looked for a universal ringtone volume setting in "Settings>Sounds & Notifications>Notifications>Phone: Incoming Call" to no avail. When I play the same mp3 in Media Player, the volume is fine and sound is high quality. If I go to my contacts and tap the custom ringtone to play a sample, it is the same. When the ringtone is triggered the next time, however, it is the same unbearably loud squawking distorted crap.
Is there a registry fix for this? Maybe a setting I have overlooked? I am considering cooked ROMs, but until I decide which one I want and see a need to change, I'm sticking with this one.
Thanks for your time!

I am running the latest official at&t WM6 release
(About screen)
CE OS 5.2.1622 (Build 18128.0.4.4)
(Device Info screen)
ROM V. 3.62.502.3
ROM d 10/11/07
Radio 1.54.07.00
Protocol v 32.86u.7020.23h
You coulda just told me I'm a moron with no brain!
That slider on the right that looks like a phone ringing, and lowers the volume of ringtones... I thought it was the in-call volume.
Sorry for the waste of time... Thanks for the forum.

System Volume Max x10

Hi Guys
When I have the HTC earphones plugged into my diamond, the volume CAN'T be changed.
It's extremely loud and therefore hurts my ears and damages the speakers.
The volume does NOT go softer when I change the system volume or the volume of Windows Media Player.
This happens ONLY when I play music.
The volume of videos and the radio CAN be adjusted - no problem!
I've never had a decent portable music player.
I really want to listen to music.
Somebody please help me!
got almost the same Problem. I found out: it depends on the rom you are using. With Aztor V7 I could adjust it, and thanks to some configuration tool (Advanced Config or s.th. like that) I could reduce the over all sound volume to an acceptable hight.
With bepes Roms the sound volume was too quite.
My solution: I ordered bluetooth headphones now - with tunable volume. Hopefully that will help, but the volume problem on the Diamond really is nasty....
Well I dont have this problem so it is not a diamond issue, maybe the image you're using?
I seem to remember that at some point I had a similar problem with a previous image but it is gone now. I am running the latest panosha
Of course the volume cannot be changed if the device is in stand-by, you need to turn on the screen and then change it.
I have NOT messed about with the ROM.
Still running the original HTC Rom.
The problem is probably somehow linked to Diamond Tweak or Avenced Config Tool.
I've checked and re-check their settings time and again.
I am stumped.
What 2 do... what 2 do...

Calls are unbelievable loud with JFv1.5

Hi
I flashed my G1 with the lucidREM Mod of JFv1.5 and since then calls are unbelievable loud. The volume is as low as it can be for calls and I have to hold it about 2cm away from the ear, as the speaker is still so loud anyone in the room can hear what the person is telling me on the phone.
Is there a way to lower the volume besides the + - buttons?
Thanks in advance

Sounds like it may be in speakerphone mode. Start a call, open the menu, and switch it back to normal.
No, the speaker on the back is off. The small one you hold onto your ear is that loud!
I've recently updated to JFv1.5 as well and I'm not having any issues with volume. Admittedly the sound volume is louder for voice and media but when the volume is set to it's lowest levels it's a normal volume for phone calls; definitely not ear-splitting or anything.
Maybe you're hearing has improved dramatically overnight; been bit by a genetically-modified spider lately?
Hmmm... spiderbite, that would explain this huge red and hurting bitewound... i don't know. Unless I find this spider I would say it's the phone, not my ear
I'm running JF 1.5 ADP and in-call volume does not actually adjust here either - even though it shows it adjusting on the screen, the actual volume remains the same.
THAT sounds more like an explanation. Any solution?

I'd like to know myself. A friend with JFv1.5 says his in-call volume control is functioning properly. So what did we do wrong?
I am also experiencing the same problems.
Updated the radio, updated to JF's1.5, had to do an erase and all seems fine, just having this problem of volume in-call.
I can confirm its not in speaker mode and volume doesn't seem to change at all.
Help!
Hey all,
I swear when I first rooted and installed JF1.5 I had followed the directions and completed the step to update my radio to 2.22.19.29I - but I just double checked my baseband and it wasn't right - I reinstalled the radio update from http://android-roms.googlecode.com/files/ota-radio-2_22_19_26I.zip - and now the volume works.
Go to Settings > About Phone > Baseband
Make sure it says 2.22.19.26I
If it doesn't, update your radio again.
Make sure it says 2.22.19.29I
I think you mean 2.22.19.26I
I'm also having this problem on the dude's cupcake - really just in general over all phone firmwares, stock and modded. The call volume is on the loud side - but tolderable - on the lowest setting but UNBELIEVABLY LOUD in headphones on the same setting. My god, my friend said "Hey!" and i instinctually ripped off the headphones and threw them on the floor because of the volume. It really p*ssed me off. This is a phone for f*ck's sake. This is it's primary function. Get it right.
also, the media volume is not loud enough on it's loudest setting.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, the volume rocker worked just fine. I my options ranged from unbelievably loud all the way up to "hear it in the next room" loud.
Did you folks who have loud volume wipe (alt+w in recovery) when installing JFv1.5? What applications did you install? What other hacks (a2sd, htc components) have you installed?

yes, wiped in recovery (when installing the dude's build, that is).
Apps:
Marcus' Appstosd 2
SETcpu
GPS Status 2
PDF Viewer (standard with the dude's build)
Advanced Task Manager
WiFi Tether for Root Users
Toggle Settings (cupcake)
and other rinky dink little apps like Astrid and OI shopping and Labrynth and stuff like that
Other Hacks:
The Dude's default theme/template (i didn't dig the default Manup theme...too blue for me - although the transparent notification background was really cool)
HTC Components:
latest radio update 2.22.19.26I

Have you tried wiping and installing a completely bone stock JFv1.5 (no a2sd or anything else) and then checking call volume?
Flashed the radio update, since it wasn't on the phone.
Still doesn't work.
PS: Using the lucid modded version. But even with everything on the phone it wont change the call volume.
Have you tried re-flashing the ROM?? .. I had an issue before and just re-flashed the ROM and worked great!

You mean fre-flash the whole 1.5 firmware?
+1
a while ago, but to sum up:
installed radio 2.22.19.26I from htc webpage.
wiped
installed jf 1.5
very loud, even if volume control shows minimum.

Incall volume too low

Unfortunately the in-call volume of my htc touch dual (xda star) is very low. I have no probs with ringtones or other sounds, just the volume during phone calls. I already tried the diamond/hd tweak to remove the 100db limitation, but this does not seem to be the problem (had no effect).
Also a radio update (1.65.29.22) and the switch to a wm6.5 rom did not help.
Did anyone had success using a patched audioparam3 for the niki? I tried a patched file from the diamond which led to a volume increase in phonecalls but unfortunately now the ringtone volume was to low now
Anyone got an idea?

[Q] Dutty's HD v1.7 - unable to change in-call volume

I've been loaned a Blackstone running Dutty's HD V1.7 (which I know is a bit old, but it's not my phone so I can't really go updating it unless I get the owner's permission).
The volume app is quite nice, with the System Volume & Ring Volume tabs, but I can find no way at all to raise / lower the actual in-call volume. As a result I always have to clamp the phone to my ear to hear anything, yet sometimes some calls distort if the other caller is loud.
I'd like to be able to adjust the in-call volume of calls but can see no way to do it - was this a known bug in Dutty's HD v1.7 or is there a separate app that can do this for me?
