Last night my wifi stopped working. I turn it on, it scans for a minute and then turns off again. No changes between the time it was working and when it stopped working.
Just a few hours before that, my TMO tab wouldn't turn back on after turning the screen off. When it eventually did, it would reboot instead of resuming. That behavior stopped, but I thought it might be related.
I'm on Overcome 1.4.4.
I guess it could be a hardware problem and I should get a replacement, but I'd like to try and fix it first.
Should I reflash Overcome? If I do, is doing the update again alright or should I do the full version? Do I need to flash it back to stock first?
Thanks folks!
Hope this is a help to you. I just do the factory data wipe, reboot and use titanium to restore data. Overcome
1.4.2 is the Rom I'm running.
It might be a router problem too. Did you power your router off then on?
Thanks for the advice. A wipe and reflash did the trick. I guess using the Overcome update was the problem. (Thank goodness for Titanium Backup!)

Hi, about 5 days ago my wifi stopped working. I'd turned it off a few days earlier since I didn't need it. When I try to turn it back on now though, it takes a few seconds and then says error. I'm not sure what's wrong with it.
Since then I've reflashed my phone rom (leedroid), factoryreset it, and updated the radio. nothing so far has fixed it. Mobile data still works so I wouldn't think it was hardware, but a software error shouldn't have survived the wipe and the radio update.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I had similar issue when flashing another kernel on my stock ROM. Maybe your kernel isn't compatible with the radio or the kernel modules haven't been applied correctly. Hardware error should be presumed after flashing original RUU.
The thing is that I hadn't played with my phone since last year. the wifi just randomly stopped working. It was still on 1.22ghz kernel 1.0.2. It got reset to stock kernel when I factory wiped it.
I've gotta go travelling again for work tomorrow so I'll try flashing the original ruu back next weekend. Would it just be a case of restoring the original nandroid backup I did before I first h-booted/rommed it?

As far as I know, factory wipe deletes just the user data. I might be wrong though, because this is my first android, so I'm still learning the basics on rooting, kernels, etc. But from your first post it seemed that you updated your radio in that period, so this might be the clue to what happened. I don't know if the nandroid backup would restore everything to stock, but I'm pretty sure that the original RUU would. Still, you should follow a procedure that would allow you to keep your root (I think if you have radio S-OFF, you'd be able to flash 1.32 RUU and just root it). Anyway, you can't return the phone for warranty services with a custom ROM, so you still need to flash a stock RUU.
Sorry, I should clarify: I did the radio update yesterday to see if it could fix it. It wasn't the cause.
Hey ! I today had a problem with my transformer. I was on stock ics rooted rom and I wanted to give a try to the CM9 with cornerstone rom.
I made a nandroid backup before wiping everything. When it launched, I wanted to connect to internet as usual. But I encountered the problem wich is the topic. The wifi icon (I'm talking about the color, not the toggle button wich was stucked on OFF) was stucked between the OFF-ON step, you know when you click on it, the color change a bit before being lighted wich mean it's on. When I watched Wifi in parameters panel, it was stucked on : Wifi activation.
I waited some hours but nothing happened.
So I tried to come restore my last rom, so I performed a wipe (even if it is maybe useless) and then I backed up. But the problem remained on my back up!
Finally I installed the same rom as the nandroid backup on the back up and it worked.
I just posted this cause I did not find anything on google or xda, so I hope it will help someone a day.
I'm having this problem as well. I'm trying various combinations of flashing Revolver 1.3 and back to my NAND backup. So far, everything restores just fine but the WiFi is still an issue. I may have to try an ICS stock ROM then back to Revolver and so on. I'm sure one of those combinations will work.
Ironically, I used EOS Cornerstone and got back to my Revolver backup without issue but using the CM9 Cornerstone seemed to give me the problem. I'll post back if something works.
****************
Ok, I got WiFi working again without issue. After numerous attempts of using the Revolver 1.3 and 1.3.1 update, the only thing I did differently was install Revolver 1.3 ONLY. I didn't flash the 1.3.1. Upon bootup, I got the typical setup screens and sure enough WiFi was good and it picked up my Adhoc tether without issue and I connected successfully.
I then rebooted into recovery to restore my NAND backup. No issue at this time that I can tell.
I can't tell anyone for certain if this will work but if you are using your NAND backup of Revolver I would:
1. Boot into recovery
2. wipe data/cache
3. Install Revolver 1.3 only. Then reboot like normal.
4. Go through setup screens upon reboot and make sure Wifi works. If it does, don't restore settings and apps from Google, there is no point.
5. Reboot back into recovery and restore your NAND backup.
Hope this helps anyone else. I may shy away a bit from the Cornerstones until we can see some more WiFi stability on them.
Wifi Issue
I had the same issue, I had to flash the Full ICS Rom from asus then restore my nand backup. Seems like going from cm9 back to another rom breaks the wifi even after you wipe. Let me know if this fixes your problem.
Heres the link for the ASUS stock ICS Rom.

I'm actually experiencing the same problem.
I don't know how long it's been going on, as I typically don't use BT. I'm experiencing the same symptoms as the OP - I try to turn it on - it tries to come on - then goes back off.
I've disabled much of the bloatware, so I opened TiBu to see if there's anything that I've frozen that might cause BT issues. None of them would seem to cause the BT issues I'm experiencing.
Any ideas for me/us to try?

How did you get this fixed, I'm having the same problem: Edited file to allows 3rd party apps to write to the SD card, but had issue so reverted to backup file I created prior to editing original. But BT still not functioning even after numerous reboots.
same here
Same problem here. I noticed bluetooth stoped working after installing juice defender. Dont know if thats the cause. But clearing cache, factory reset, uninstalling apps, etc. Hasnt worked.I read where someone reflashed in odin and it worked. Will an odin flash void knox or my warranty? Sprint galaxy s5 rooted. Stock rom
Same problem here...
I have done factory reset, clean wipe via recovery and reinstalled rom.
Still the Bluetooth acts as if it is goona turn on but does not.
Problem fixed but at a cost
I had the same problem thats being discussed in here.
I was rooted with stock rom on the latest build NK2, I also modified the xml file so I could write to the ExtSdCard and it didnt work so I put it back to original and somehow my bluetooth got messed up after that. I would attempt to turn on but would only go back to off.
What I did was I unrooted by going into CF SU settings and chose the unroot option, I flashed the stock nk2 firmware and did a factory reset and that got bluetooth working for me again.
I'm going to stay unrooted until lollipop drops for Verizon S5.
Hope this helps somehow.
Rooted Vz S5 and about a week ago, updated Kernel via Odin (OTA updates were frozen). Worked fine, seemed to have no issues. Last night, however, any connection to Wi-Fi network forces a soft reboot. Leaving Wi-Fi on but unconnected does not cause the problem, but anytime it connects to router, every 30 seconds or so, it rolls into a soft reboot. So, for now, stuck sucking data. Any ideas on what may be the problem? I noticed also some odd looking artifacts on screen when the phone goes past the splash screen to lock screen. Bit of an android noob, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Not sure if this was just a coincidence, but I had also received a notice from Google "advising" me to uninstall towel root.
Cheers

Did you update the rest of the system, or just the kernel? System version must match kernel version.
Thanks for the reply. I update the system as well. However, I did not do a complete wipe at the time. So, I went back, wiped, and flashed over again to the updated system and kernel, re-installed towelroot, flashed the old kernel, and then back to updated kernel again. Pain in the rear, (as all the apps and data had to be restored), but it looks like everything is working as it should now. Kind of an odd bug as nothing else appeared to be causing problems other than connecting to Wi-Fi.
Hi everyone,
i am having a SM-G900F (it is t-mobile). It is on stock lollipop LRX21T.G900FXXU1BNL9 with modem and bootloader BOB7 (which i flashed a week ago).
I have problems since the last 2-3 days, my phone is connected to a working WiFi or mobile data and everything seems alright, but it isn't, i don't have any internet access. I have to turn of WiFi or mobile data and turn it on and eventually it starts working again :S
Does anyone has an idea what the problem may cause and how should i fix it? Thanks in advance
EDIT: Also if i take out the battery of my phone and turn it on afterwards, it turns off but with a black screen, and i get a "System fc", and i have to try to turn it on a few times to get it work like it should, but if i turn off the phone without taking out the battery it turns on just fine everytime
First thing Id try is clearing CACHE from Recovery
Did you factory reset after updating to Lollipop from KK? It is needed to get rid of left over bugs / files from KK

When i bought the phone (used) it already had lollipop on it. I tried clearing cache+dalvik cache but still the same, but didn't tried a factory reset, right now i am downloading a custom rom, will wipe everything and see what happens after that.
Some strange thing that i noticed is, that the internet now won't work for any app escept for viber, on viber it works without problems
Right now i have flashed another ROM with wipe-ing everything before and i have still problems with the internet :S
i don't know what do to now :/
EDIT: Data is working, but wifi connects but no internet :/
EDIT2: I've found out what the problem is, it wasn't my phone, it was some weird virus which changed my routers DNS settings
