To start with, I couldn't post a reply in the topic forum because I am still new apparently.
I am wondering if there has been any news regarding the bugs on this rom? The only bug that I am aware of that is stopping me from putting on my phone is the camera bug. I need my camera.
Question 2: Is there any other Roms that share a basic Gingerbread OS with something similar to sense? I don't want a rom that tweaks everything from looking like the standard gingerbread w/sense. What I really want is a rom that is close to the look of the evo and gingerbread. But something that clocks speed. Any recommendations?
Sorry for the stupid questions, I have been reading and reading and reading and I can't find a single post that talks about definitions and recommendations for users. Its hard for the normal noobs to grasp the lingo in place
Thanks again
hi,
gingerbread with sense is still a work in progress, and no the camera does not work properly yet.....

Hi All
I see now we are getting quite a few custom ROM's from the likes of bepe, panosha and other.
Great Work Guys.
But i would also like to be able to build or a least edit a ROM to exactly meet my requirement. Like adding or removing certain CAB files and making reg edits.
Have been reading a lot of other threads on the site put none seem to deal directly with the Polaris.
So i was hoping some of you great cooks (grovel grovel grovel) would wight a description on how to take a nbh file and extract and edit the different nb parts and then rebuild back to a nbh file ready for flashing.
Thanks
polaris kitchen
sorry......wrong answer
I'd love that too! I want to mod an existing ROM and make it specific to my needs.
Will anyone be so kind and post a short guide how to do this? And make the topic sticky!
First, you can start with Kaiser's Kitchen...and at last, use Dark Simpson tool (htc room tool) to make nbh file (config add Polaris device in tool config)
Cheers,
ouioui
Good place to start is here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser ROM Kitchen Tutorial
Yep , good one, but everything is based on Kaiser.
I don't have a Polaris Radio, neither does the HTC Rom Tool allow to cook Polaris Rom's.
Any other ideas ? Or could someone help ?
Thanks a lot in advance
The Kaiser kitchen works fine and all you need to do with the Dark Simpson ROM tool is change the Model ID from KAIS***** to POLA*****
As always read the threads before you start cooking and make sure you have Hard SPL!!
Thanks
I've been reading all night ;-)
In the HTC Rom tool there is no Polar***** , strange, although I thought I downloaded the newest ini. I've read in another thread that I could use the Kaiser one as it was basically the same device, is that so ?
Other question though:
Talking about Hard-SPL- I've Hard-SPL'd mine , but do I need to include that one in the rom as well ? Like while using the HTC Rom Tool , in the SPL section ???
Second question, where can I find the radio.....nb ?
Thanks for your help, I appreciate that.
As I said set the ROM tool to Kaiser then change the Model ID to POLA***** and use as normal to create the nbh image.
As for Hard SPL... once you´ve flashed it that´s that, no need to flash it every time you change ROMs or radio...
id love to see the guide for polaris aswell.
and oem packages as well.
i did everything as it was sowen in kaiser guide, but i got an error on building system. have no idea why..
was saying that something is missing or path is icorrect smth like that
post here exact errr.U got.
here is htcrt.ini for polaris (only Polaris Option is active) simply rewrite htcrt.ini in folder with htcrt.EXE
It's not necessary to include Radio ROM when building? Right?
nope, its up 2 U what 2 include (SPL/Radio/OS/Splash)

Thanks for the guidance. The tutorial is great but fails to mention specifics if you are not cooking a Kaiser Rom. For example, does the baserom have to come from a shipped Rom? I was using the 3.02 Kaiser Rom as my baserom. Can you do that when cooking a Polaris rom? How do I get the RUU_signed.nbh out of any other Rom. I thought about using the WM6.1 19716 Rom but couldn't extract anything. (Probably stupid questions but cant find answers in the wiki). BTW, I was getting same errors about half-way through compiling process. If I try again today, I will record the errors and post. Again, thx for help.
sgreenwood99M me i have 19716 WM6.1 for cooking. U can Use some part of any ROM but U have to be sure exactly what. In general U can Use OEMpackages freely, but be aware with drivers, baseapps....(i have perfect CZECH 19199 WM6.1 but w/o working SMS)
Hi,
i've read through the Kaiser kitchen guide and it all seems to make sense however i'm not sure how much is relavent to the Polaris, for example the ingredients section talks about expanding the radio file and the rom files to folders, from the Kaiser files on rapidshare etc.
Do us Polaris users do these points too? or are there specific Polaris Radio and ROM files we use?
I have my base ROM file called RUU_signed.nbh and i've also managed to use pdocread to get the RAW files too, but just not sure where to go now?
All i want to do is remove a few cabs and add a few cabs and EXEs to my rom.
can anyone post comments on exactly which parts of the Kaiser kitchen guide need to be changed to use on a Polaris?
thanks.
dont need raw's. simply put *.NBH(polaris) to BaseRom folder. Run begin.cmd(or bat?) Choose option 1.
click......... then start cook.cmd(or bat)
Do we replace the KaiserCustomRUU and the BuildOS files with ones specific to Polaris? Thanks.
yes, take udK CustomRUU & replace kaiser one, u dont need to replace anything else(except htcrt.ini ||KAIS**** replace with POLA***). And of course Polaris' *nbh
Whenever I put a Polaris nbh in the BaseRom folder, the process gives me an error that it cannot find RUU_signed.nbh.
hy all. i have a problem (wish): i want to install a clean rom ( i have it allready) and i want to customize it with the programs that i want to, and then, to save this rom (i supose that i have to dump it and reconstruct it) exactly with my settings/applications/etc. can i do that? if I can, how? thx alll.
When you customize your polaris on the device itself, it doesn't change the ROM on it. So dumping it will not give you a new ROM. You'll have to change the ROM on the desktop, and upload it afterwards. There are a lot of topics about ROM building.
ok. thx. i will go then to that topics. thx.
Yes but the problem is that all those posts are about porting a 6.1 rom from another device to polaris.
Now that we have a 6.1 rom how exactly do we cook it and flash it back?
Here's my problem: I have the PTG 6.1 rom, but I want to replace the CF2 with CF3.5 and replace TTN6 with TTN7, and flash it back.
I already have Kitchen 1.3, extracted the 'RUU_signed.nbh' and a dump of 03_OS.nb.payload.
Now, where do I go from here?. I want a rom that's exactly the same as the official one but with the changes I mentioned above.
I'm a complete noob at this cooking rom issue. I've read lots of threads but I've only gotten more confused about all the XIPs, SYSs, OEMs and stuff, and I think the same happens with other users.
I know that some of the actual cookers were once in the same place I'm now, so can someone point me out the rigth way and if possible post a detailed tutorial on how to extract, cook and flash back a rom on POLARIS, me and lots of users would apreciate it a LOT.
Second That Thought.
What would be nice to see (if possible) the following,
as an example:
1. Download Polaris ROM Kitchen v1.3
2. Extract to c:\Kitchen
3. Copy your ROM image (*.nbh) to X:\
4. Run command
...20. Install Package (M2D.cab) by doing the following ...
21. Recombine the ROM by doing the follow commands ...
22. Flash your ROM to your Polaris
23. Hard Reset and verify that the package you installed is in your ROM
Congrats
A step by step like that, which walks a user though the process of a demo ROM and a demo *.cab for learning would be FANTASTIC!!!
Thanks in advance to whoever can help us out!
Juxtyce

Any help from the professionals out there?
Look here:
1. .Net2.0 => .net3.5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2685138&postcount=22
2. replace the ttn.cab file in the folder "\kitchen.work\Build\OEM\OEMAPPS" with the TomTom7 cab. If it don't have the same name, rename the new cab or edit the file 'config_AP.txt' in the same folder
hope it will help you I managed it this way.
P.S. I didn't change the XIP as mentioned in the given thread. See following posts
I will dump the wm6.1 rom for you guys, and provide you with a kitchen with some packages you can use.
I will do so for all available languages that is available with official wm6.1
But,that is gonna be quite time consuming, and I hope that you understand that I ask this in return:
Any small donation for the time I use on that will be of help.
I dont say that its required, not at all. I am not doing this for money.
But the number of hours I spend on this is getting pretty high.
I will do this project either you donate or not.
cheers
thank you a lot itje. can you make in romanian also?
dunno if it's the good topic to post but let's try.
I see many fantastic people cooking excellent roms (i wish i could do the same...), and, in those roms, a lot of softwares.
Isn't it possible to just have a rom with the bare minimum?
and seperate cabs to install what you want?
for example, manilla 2d is cool, but many people like spb mobile shell better, so it's wasted memory.
May be i'm just wrong, don't understanding how it all works, so plz explain to me !

There is a large choice of ROM's, some loaded with extra's, some very minimally equiped. There are so many that your favorite must be out there already. Just search for it.
Hi everyone
just bought a G910, i was so enthusiast of my bargain...UNTIL I SWITCHED IT ON... It's like an obese elephant disguised as an handeld [and i have the latest official rom, the .36 one]. It's slow, really heavvy, it crashes continuously, ecc.
I've searched for something that could help me, but i haven't found absolutely nothing about cooked stuff or similar for my G910.
I need an help, if it doesn't exists anything already done, and is it possible to create a cooked rom for the g910, i'm ready to learn.
In addiction, I have some troubles that i'd like to clarify.
1) Does it exists a REALLY WORKING fix for the annoying low volume?
2) Are there some rom for others handeld that could fit and work with succes on my G910?
3) Does it exists some software for overclocking my device?
4) Are there some kind of updates that i can do? I've got WM6 installed, i was asking myself if is it possible, in some way, to install WM 6.5 or similar.
5) Please HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP me
It's a watch, that's a phone.... how can you expect it to do much?
Thanks for your reply but... i've not understood what do you wanna say :/ Sorry but i'm not english ))
Little update.
Found "TSW TOOLS" software, from Cotulla [the forum doesn't allows me to post links but it's so easy to find]
This tool decrypts/encrypts .bin to .tsw and .tsw to .bin.
So now i have a .bin file with my rom.
Tried to "split" it with ImgFstools but it says
"
ImgfsFromDump.exe G910_Software_IT/prg/G910SW.bin out.bin
ImgfsFromDump 2.1rc2
Compression DLL does not support compression type '\AMSS\products\7'!
"
...could someone help me?
HERE IT IS
INFO
Now what does this do. Well people we all hate having to re install our apps when we do new roms. We hate having to using programs like astro it back up and restore well this does it all for us.
How to use is simple place the applications you want in the APPS folder
Place the un zipped rom you want to install the system folder
Run the batch file and it will add the apps where its needed.
If it asked to hit a key click D and A when needed.
Zip up the 2 folders in YOUR-ROM and flash the rom if you get errors try re-zipping the rom again and install.
Future updates i want is this.
GUI screen
Ways to get updated roms that will download for people so they dont need to do anything but select like the online rom maker.
I will be getting this a lot better once I get more free time it only took me about an hour to get everything set up. It will be better soon.
I want to thank jombeewoof for the updated kitchen.

HELP
Ok android guys I am over at SDX since I'm a moment guy but I have been really wanting to have a Android Kitchen just like we have for windows BuildOS. Looking at a few roms for the hero, moment, evo, and droid to me its looking like its the same basic set up for all roms.
My friend and I have been making a CLI kitchen but we would like to have a GUI screen like BuildOS.
So Im asking for some help with coders to help make this.
How we have it set up right now is.
One folder for the ROM you want
Another folder for all the apps you want in it.
if you want a custom kernel.
then it will make all the required files and ZIP everything up.
then you can flash it in recovery.
I want people to select what device they have
what apps they want
if they like a rom all the roms to that phone. that are updated every week.
Im willing to go around looking for roms for the phones if people can help me get this program up and running.
Can some people help? I want this to be a great as Build OS for use android people.
I'd like to have the app coded in html so that as the roms update it is a super easy fix. I have a folder on my web site with a lot of APKs that I can get links to also free apps no paid. And Im willing to even download even more if needed. Please help I want this to be the greatest kitchen ever.
First of all thanks for your hard work, I'd really like to see a kitchen like the Ervius Visual Kitchen for Android.
I'm no programmer, but if you need any help testing our whatever just let me know.

That looks like a good start! Very similar to the EVKitchen for WM. I did notice though that in your how to section on the first post it says to place the ROM you want to flash into the system folder, but there is no system folder that I can see in version 0.1.5
I have APPS, OLD-ROM, KERNEL, and YOUR-ROM. No system folder in the kitchen.
if you extract your rom you want there will be a meta-inf folder and a system folder take the system folder and place it in the old-rom folder. I just added a new version of the kitchen to have my friend look at and if so then you should be able to select a droid with a few roms and a evo option also with some roms. i will be updating more as i find direct links to rom not on sites like rapid share or mediafire places.

At this time im going to just focus on samsung phones since im not getting a lot of help from any one but samsung people. Once i get done with the samsung part depending on what i have option wise ill do droid or htc.
If you can code it would help me a lot as there are only 2 people and we really want this.
hope i can get this set up
I can't code to save my life, but I have a samsung phone (captivate) and volunteer for a tester if needed. Would love to have this.
Evo people are very helpful and they just put up an online based kitchen this could be helpful to that cause
ya i saw joey's kitchen go up about 2days ago. im trying to get him to help with a few things.
we did get the moment all set up now its just time to work on other phones. so for the next little bit to day i will be getting download links for a few more phones and add then to it. if you can help post up download links to roms. mediafire type sites some times have issues so if the rom uses it some times the rom wont download.
Ok so I was able to get some EVO/Droid/HERO roms/radios in this kitchen still would like to have a GUI screen but for now this will work. Uping tonight should have it out for tomorrow reason it takes so long is because im in the middle of the ocean on deployment.
just a question. can i add apps to automatically be installed into the ext partition with apps2sd
not at this time. thats going to be in the near future. we are trying to get a base of a few phones then start working on others
alright, thats still brilliant. keep up the good job guys!

Hi
Is there a ROM Upgrade (ANDROID 2.1 or 2.2) for HTC TOUCH HD?
I know there are some files like haret.exe but i like to do it with this
program: rom update utility
( you can search it on google images)
I have upgrade my HTC TOUCH HD to htc touch hd with sense
and now i like to do that but than with android!
Is that possible????
Thanks a lot
and so sorry for my english !!
no, currently there is no complete stand alone nand android rom for the blackstone since it is not yet stable and many features are not working (like bluetooth or 3.5mm). but afaik it is being worked on so there might actually one day be a full android rom for the nand instead of the sd card.

Hey,
I'm sry about my question (and my english, just got "school-english-skills" from Germany, a few years ago ), tried to do the search but found nothing I'm able to understand...
A good friend of mine has a HTC HD Touch (Blackstone?) and wants to flash a "stable" Android Version on it. I'm able to flash the HTC Magic, Wildfire, Desire & co. but I'm not able to understand what I've got to to, wich files I need and what I should do with that.
Could anyone help me ? Linked files that I need and a short instruction would be very very great !
(Please do me a favour and don't say something like "use search" and so on, I need to understand what I have to do with wich files )
Many thanks in advance
There is no flashable android rom for Blackstone yet
exactly. as of now, there is no android rom for the internal flash (nand) to replace the current windows mobile os. but there are still ways to get android working alongside winmo, by simply putting it on the sd card.
basically, what you need is a rom, haret and ts-calibration+startup.txt.
for the rom itself, there are dozens of different roms around this very forum section. look for the most recent ones and compare them by the features needed. some of them hardly have any support for the blackstone hardware, when it comes to camera, sound, BT, 3.5mm jack, calling... and are purely for fun and apps, some others are more suitable for everyday use. make sure to read a few posts of user feedback to get what you want.
most roms come with their own haret package (the winmo program to boot android), which, like the rom itself, needs to be extracted to the sd card root.
ts-calibration is the file needed to store the touch screen calibration, so you don't have to align it yourself, which can be tricky in android.
startup.txt stores the boot commands, which can be altered to your needs, have a look at a few of them and pick the best one (which seems difficult at first, but you can search any command in there to find out what it means). some come with overclocking or different values which can speed up or slow down the device, it set wrong.
and, to sum it all up, here is a tutorial thread describing the whole installation (well, copy) process:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=959831
it is not completely up to date, but you can use the same tutorial, the same haret, ts-calibration and startup for other, newer roms, like blazn 2.2.2 or whatever you want.
