Trouble with SE - XPERIA X10 General

Hey folks!
It seems that my X10 is dead. I can't charge it anymore. I tried another wall charger and usb charging and i only get the red LED flashing 3 times. When plugging in the cable, it seems very loose so i guess the micro-usb port is broken.
Many people are having this kind of problem and i think it's caused by a constructional flaw with the plate and the charging port. it's very sensitive for shocks.
So ~1 month ago i sent my X10 to SE for fixing the problem, i still have my warranty. They sent it back saying that it hasn't been fixed becuase i dropped my phone and so it's my fault.
Well i did never drop the phone and i always covered it in a protective cover.
They sent a picture with it to "prove" it. Here it is :

The red stuff is some stabilisation and it's broken.
I've been in contact with SE lately and i literally begged them to fix it using my warranty. Today they denied it saying once again, it's my fault because i dropped it.
I've been reading through many forums and i read that it's a common problem with the X10. They have to burden to proof that i REALLY dropped it (there are no marks on there because i did never drop it). I have the idea of point out that it's a common problem with that *** micro usb port (constructional flaw).
What should i do? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

The X10s body easily shows signs of being dropped due to it being plastic (i.e if you drop it onto concrete ). I've dropped my X10 several times and the plastic is dented and chipped all over the place.
I don't know if I can give any suggestions as to what you can do, but if your phone's body is pristine then that should be proof enough that it hasn't been dropped.
If you have any consumer protection agencies in your country, contact them.

yeah we have some kind of that here. that would be my last option.

If you got it on contract chances are you can get a replacement through your carrier (in Canada I think its for 1 year)

Battery cover clicks, cracks, pisses me off

Hi guys,
I'm having this problem and I would like to know if it's happening to someone else. There are certain parts of the battery cover that will click and crack when pressed. They're basically the phone's "temples" (the top part of the phone's sides) and the area around the headphone jack, as shown on this pic:

It's pretty irritating, since that's basically the area I use to grab the phone and get it out of its case. Do you get it too?
I don't have this problem. But I expect people will get the same problem if they open the battery cover too many times. You can try calling HTC to see if you can buy a battery cover from them.
mine does it. Didn't at first, now it does. No big deal.
Thanks for your replies guys, glad to know that at least one more person has this problem too
Rvinny, have you ever dropped your phone? I have, and fear both things might be related.
I've dropped it like four times now and mine doesn't creak. I am probably the pickiest person in the world too, but I have to say... the build quality on this phone is pretty solid... its just too bad they used the worst speakers ive ever heard in a mobile phone before. Bet the speakers on the desire will be good though ... bastards...
mine clicks in the same spots.
i've been thinking about getting a replacement battery cover.
easy fix - put a miniscule amount of electrical tape right under each of the corner tabs on the battery cover to use as a padding/buffer. result - solid feeling phone, no more flex.

Power Button Crack and Vol. Button Crack - Both over night!

Hmmm, so last night, I left my phone sitting on my desk in perfect condition, got up this morning, put it in my over-coat pocket and went to school. When I got home to use it, there was the famous power button crack, which I know wasn't there yesterday because I cleaned my whole phone really well (eww, germs), and then I found the much worse crack by the volume button. I never even took my over-coat off today, and my phone has never been dropped. ;( What POS.
Do you think the hardware warranty will cover this? I'm sure my AMEX card warranty will, but I'll have to wait until June of next year before I can use it.
I'm worried that the piece by the vol. button is going to snap off randomly. It also seems like the plastic just does this at random, from my personal experience, and others have said the same thing.
Here are some photos, if you haven't seen the vol. button crack before...

Sorry about your misfortune my friend. Seems that the otterbox cases have taken to long to come out for some...
Damn, just saw your headline and looked down at my phone to find that I have a crack as well at the same place by the volume button. It's not coming off, but thats not to say that it won't in the future.
Unfortunately a few weeks ago I dropped my phone, and there's a scuff mark on the top. I'm sure if the crack worsens that they'll claim it was from abuse and won't cover it.
Got the two same cracks. I am not too worried about it.
I'm just worried about other cracks showing up randomly...I don't think this phone is built for more than a year of easy usage. I don't use a case, burt I'm not throwing my phone around it dropping it either.
Sent from my Warm twopointtwo EVO.
I just got my phone replaced for the powerline crack
The sprint employees said they did it as a "courtesy" because it's not a known defect. When I told them it's all over the web, they said HTC has to issue it as a known problem.
"courtesy" my ass, I pay for TEP every month and I haven't even used it yet!
This its old news, lol, op should have serched, and yes I have this to, iv had them sense the phone came out, and no further damage has happend.

My hand broke before my M8 did

Well, I fell snowboarding the other day with my phone in a chest pocket. I caught an edge and sandwiched my hand between my body and some ice. Needless to say I broke my hand and completely bent my phone but miraculously my screen didn't break, so at least I have that going for me which is nice.
Kind of sucks because HTCS 6 month manufacturing warranty only covers cracked screens, fml
Here are some pictures, I figured somewhere here might enjoy this.

Hope you have a speedy recovery!
Htc One wave (tm)
On a serious note that should be easily fixed just by replacing the case. That is if everything works fine inside
I got pain on the chest by looking at those pictures.
Hope you can fix it soon.
Yeah, ordering a new backside should be the cheapest way. Replacing it is not hard - all you need is a bit of patience and a source of heat. Order the top and bottom of the front aswell, those are bastards to remove and replace properly - other then that it sounds more dramatic then it is.
remove tops and bottom, heat and remove back side (there is guides on youtube/interwebz). The internals and screen is the expensive parts and those should still be allright for you.
Yea I've thought about replacing the case., I was able to bend it slightly back into place which makes it at least fit in the case again.
Everything works, for now. The only problem I've noticed is two bright spots in the center of the screen most likely from something pushing on the backlight. It's only noticable when looking at dark content which I can lI've with.
I must say HTC did a pretty damn good job engineering this phone :good:
if HTC-LG have a baby...this is the HTC G-flex
@popwarfour At least you managed to answer the question. "HTC One M8 - Does it bend?"
Hope your hand recovers okay.
I actually bent mine as well somehow and I sent it into htc for repair, they fixed it and didn't charge me anything for it. I can't even tell it was even bent. Mine was not as severe as that though.

Dust under back of frosted glass - Yet another QC error.

After being happy for a few days with my second Z5 (First one had backlight uneveness, changed out next day), I stumbled upon yet another QC error by Sony. This time around there is dust stuck beneath the frosted glass. Now you might say "Oh it's just a scratch!" I looked at it from multiple angles, under bright light and also with an electronic microscope. There are no indentations to the surface, which leaves me just as baffled as most of you on how this happened . This is a REV4 model, everything else works wonderfully though, barely any camera fringing and no uneven backlight, haven't tested water proofness yet, but that wasn't important to me. Needless to say I'll be exchanging it tomorrow because the shops that have it in stock have closed for the night.
So just a warning on another thing to look out after buying your new Xperia Z5!
Why do you do this to us Sony, we only want your products :crying:.
PS: Here's the unresized images if you want to peep: Image 1, Image 2.
You bought it that way for sure. This ''thing'' can not go almost to the middle of the phone by itself.Just one more thing that we need to look closer before buying. And Sony is not doing this intentionally, bro. ( : Just bad luck.
No disrespect intended but the absolute last thing I am worried about is a piece of dust under the back glass. In my opinion, trivial.
return it. if you're spending $400+ usd on a phone it should be pretty darn near perfect.

See I fully agree it is trivial. But the fact that is there will drive me crazy. Considering cheaper phone manufacturers can deliver better QC, I expect cream of the crop from Sony. Call me picky or pedantic, but for a price of the phone there is no excuse.

Transferring NFC chip to a different back cover?

So I used to have a Galaxy Note 3 and the NFC chip was on the battery. I thought the same was the case with my V20 until I bought one of those extended 6600mAh batteries (because I dont really care about the thinness of the phone) which doesnt support NFC. I noticed the lack of the black ribbon around the camera and the 2 contacts on it. Im assuming this is the NFC chip? Do you guys think it would be possible to peel it off and stick it on the new back cover that comes with this extended battery? NFC is something I use daily for NFC payments (since its widely available in Australia) and would love to still be able to use it.
Pic for what I mean

Splitting hairs, but what you see around the camera cutout on the cover is the antenna for the NFC chip. Chip is on board itself.
Honestly, I would imagine it would work, were you to be really careful about pulling the ribbon off..
That said, practicality of the matter is another thing entirely. those damned ribbon cables are crazy fragile. like, dont look at it too long, or you'll tear it fragile. and, i imagine it is stuck to the original cover with some sort of adhesive or another.
tl;dr
the odds of a botched removal are too damned high!
I'd actually like to know about this myself. Considering the v20, with the extended batteries as a main point as I hate being grounded to a charger, but NFC seems like something i would like to start to use as mobile payments are being accepted at more and more places. If you try it, let us know how it goes. Maybe you can put tape on the sticker to give it more support? Who knows. If you mess up, I'm finding spare back covers with NFC antennae for around 20 USD on Amazon.

I have a post in section for accessoires for backcovers could u please post the shop at Amazon there. I'm looking for them. https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/accessories/backcovers-shop-t3582813
