Hi,
I'm currently using Indroid 3.0, and would like to flash the Apocalypse beta rom. But now i've seen in the Apocalypse thread that I have to flash the official XXJPM rom first. I've looked at samfirmware.com, but I can't find the one-package flash files.
Isn't it possible to flash XXJPM on the easy way? If yes, where can I find the files? ^^
And if no, will it be possible to flash Apocalypse from Indroid 3.0?
Srry for my bad English
Thanks for your reply!
Give it a try if u want....but it clearly says Flash from Stock JPM to have least problems...by the way you could have asked this on apocalypse rom thread itself

JPM is ONE PACKAGE.
Even if you have other version. Whats the difference?
You can select in Odin PDA, PHONE and CSC files instead One Package - all the difference.

Thanks! I thought that flashing with the one-package file is the safest way, and I don't wanna brick my phone you know!
And do I need to wipe data/cache before flashing JPM?

Don't flash 'boot' file.
In that case you're never brick your phone.

Here is what i got to say for all these questions :
Stick to Stock JPM if your lazy to flash Indroid,Lestatious,Kyrillos, etc. and decide it for your self..
If you want a very stable awesome custom rom..
Then you must download all available custom roms from development section take some time and try out each of them at least for 3 hrs..
If your happy with some custom roms performance then stick to it
ANd that would be your best stable,etc.. Custom ROM
-Peace-
well.. m happy that somebody else started this thread...
i recently flashed kyrillos rom as according to most of the members it is the best rom available.....
IMO.. it is a very good rom.. bt i found it lil bit laggy(it runs out of ram if u use ur phone continously for 15 minutes)....
i was on official froyo (indian version), and i was very disappointed with audio quality of stcok froyo.
kyrillos rom has awesome sound quality...
nw i want to switch back to best STOCK rom which has sound quality equivalent to kyrillos.
plzz suggest me the most stable STOCK rom.(audio quality is top priority)

The excellent audio which you admire is all thanks to Fugu Kernel Beta 3 which has voodoo sound.
to have the same experience in stock rom do this
FLASH XXJPM(Stock from samfirmware)
Then flash FuguMod v4.3 Beta 3 from fugu thread
Install the voodoo app
Enjoy music n stock rom
thanx buddy....
there are several things that i want to know
1>>whther XXJPM has that audio issue as in indian froyo(i.e. while listening to music, if we lock or unlock screen, sound is disturbed)...??
2>>where can i find the XXjpm without the files responsible for hardbricking(boot.bin and one more file i guess)..?
3>>can i flash xxjpm over kyrillos 5.7 directly......????
4>>mine is i5801.. its fine naa
5>>do i need to check "protect OPS" in odin(coz i m flashing second time.. and the guide is confusing me as it says dnt check it if u r flashing i5800 f/w on i5801 for the first time)
ya i know that i ask too much questions... [:-D]

Not sure, but some of the custom roms have links to the stock as they recommend putting that on first. I think Apocalypse has a link.

The i5800 and i5801 are the same so just use a i5800 ROM and it'll be fine.

Hey. If you want Stock roms without the bootloader then you can download it from hereor here. No bootoader so no hardbricking possible.
And you can flash fugumod 2.4 over stock.
EDIT : - If you have already downloaded JP2, just remove boot.bin and sbl.bin from the tar using Winrar. Or total commander or any other util.
thanxx buddy..
hi i just want to know that i m using criskelo JVQ rom the latest one can u plz tell that i can flash any of semphore kernel on in i m planning for latest samephore kernel......plz if anyone know then give me reply
one thing i forget to mention the semaphore has only JVP kernel........i want to know that can i flash this one on my JVQ rom
Hi Ali,
You've probably read up already and found your answer but if not just know that it is good practice to only flash kernels designed for the build. IE JVP = JVP Kernel otherwise you will or can run into problems.
Hope this helps.
Samephore 1.3.0 is designed for JVQ. It should work fine.

I rather trust odin to flash a kernel than an app ...
Why is is it the safest way?

True, semapfore 1.3.0 here on my custom rom based on JVQ.
The only thing that bothers me is that BT doesn't work properly in combination with this kernel.
I use darkcore 2.8 now and everything is fine again.
Use Odin
As you know, I'm new.. I wanna know how to install a custom Kernel.. I have Kyrolls' now.. If I just flash it, will it run? It will boot into Kyrolls' ri8? Sorry for n00b questions, but I'm totally new to these things... Thanks in advance.. Anyone who gets to help gets a thanks!
to flash a kernel, u need to flash .tar file of the kernel using odin or apply update.zip of the kernel using CWM
here is the link for the files:
http://code.google.com/p/g3mod/downloads/list
here is the thread:

I know that.. The easy question that stands first is - Do i need to flash the kernel first and then the ROM or we can do it any way? I'm in Kyrolls' integrated FuguMod Kernel..

hi
1. read carefully on how to use Odin
2. it is always advisable to do a factory/Data wipe and wipe delvi cache and then flash the ROM via odin and if u want to go back to the stock rom dont worry just look in the rollup thread and u will see some links with stock rom with out boot loader for u to flash
good luck and be care full read carefully before attempting to flash
Like it has been said before, it´s ok.
Just remember to follow the guide and you´ll be just fine.
I recommend to flash the Kyrillos Rom 9.2 with G3Mod 2.2.2 noc oc.
Hit thanks if it helped you anyway.
Best of luck
Thanks alot harree.
Also what about the Overclock thingy? and one more question i read in one of the threads that a bettery stats wipe should be done after installing the rom. Well i searched around and i couldn't find a thread on how to do that. I would appreciate if someone can help with that.
@iam_dragonmaster, how can i install the g3mod 2.2.2 non oc (i figure this is a kernal? how can i install a kernal when installing the rom?) with kyrillos rom? besides i can only install kyrillos 9.0 i think then have to use the update.zip thingy to update.

Boot into recovery using the extended boot menu and apply the update for kyrillos 9.2 by selecting zip from SD card and of course you need to put the update in your SD card. You can download g3mod kernel and flash it via Odin one package and it does not wipe your data . Also you can download the battery calibration app from the market and install it and follow the instructions. For me i use Zeppelinroxs die hard battery calibrator script. Can be found with the beta/test releases of v6 supercharger.

Hi,
I would like to get specific instructions in installing kernels, which i couldn't find anywhere.
I just installed CWM and want to install forumber2's kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1912714
is it just like move zip to sd card and flash it, dont i need to wipe caches or anything? just choose and flash?
thanks
You should wipe cache first.. but you want to flash a kernel over and official rom? why dont you try a custom one?
