[Q] Why no new builds? - Epic 4G General

In the weeks and months leading up to EC05, there were tons of links like this one:
http://device.sprintpcs.com/Samsung/SPH-D700/EC05.rdf
With EC05 as the build number [E = 2011, C = March, 05 = Build 05]
I've tried everything from EC06 to ED09 and there's nothing new. Why haven't we seen new build numbers popping up? Did Samsung/Sprint discontinue these sites? Are they afraid we'll notice Gingerbread in newer builds?

who said they are making new builds?
and really if they are jumping to gb then it will be a while before they "build" it to test out

I've always assumed it was a mistake that those little files were being posted publicly, anyway. So it means nothing to me that they stopped appearing other than that they probably now post them on an internal server.

Stable OS Build

I know this might end up being a opinion question, but im okay with that.
I see all the builds in the post with a ful list, my question comes based on useage and everyone's opinion, which of the builds would be considered the most stable out of all of them? I have tried different builds, but I'd like to settle on one build at this point that has the features, and the stability to work with. I have already tried these builds:
21887 (Came with TP2 Rom 2.07)
21895
23113
23114
24614
28236
Still going to try:
21905-07
22021
23569 (See alot of talk about this one)
24609 (I know its an HTC Build)
Out of the ones I listed tried and still going to, is there any build anyone would recommend over the other? Or is there a build I didnt list?
Again I know its probably going to end up being an opinion, but I am trying to find the balance of features and stability and use that to build from, since some packages it seems are starting to be build dependent I want to get ahead of the race.
Thanks to all who respond.
The last 5-10 I've tried have all seemed pretty much the same. I'm using 24563 now, and don't see much point in trying anything else. I used 23547 before for maybe 2 months, and the difference between the two was nil (the same goes for the two other 235xx builds I tried, and the 4 or 5 282xx builds I tried).
235xx is good for me. On 23569 just now. That build seems to need the least amount of 'fixing' - just a minor fix to the dialler to get rid of unnecessary scrollbar. Good stability, no major issues on the topaz.
Farmer Ted, I know I read in Da_G's post that 24xxx builds were HTC branch, and the 23xxx is where threaded email is, did that get carried over to that build or is it non-existent? Also is the 24xxx builds 6.5.3 or 6.5.5? And is there are significance?
chris5s, the 23569 build I have been seeing alot of, and alot of talk about stability, I just recently took that build and was looking to see about using it to try out and see.
One question is the 28236 Build that I am currently using seems okay, but being that its a higher build number I guess I am curious as to what the drawback of this build is that most are sticking with the lower builds.
The build number doesn't make it 'higher' just a different branch, that's all.
so much discussed topic:
its the opinion as you said OP, but popular opinions says the most stable ATM is the COM5 branch, and one of the most updated AKU, ( we saw this AKU version in newer HTC build number now) but dont speculate.
COM8 Branch just comes to change the way how the Messaging titanium shortcut views the SMS... then it dies.
All others are diying even more. guessing that the most stable at the end will be Carriers Branches like HTC NEW UI branch, SEMC, LG bla bla bla

Froyo firmware silence??

Does anybody have any clues why we haven't seen any new froyo firmwares so far? (we had a wave of jp1 to jp3 and then silence)
Is it because
a. Such new firmwares exist but are not leaked anymore (samsung detected the leak) or
b. Such new firmwares do not exist in the sense that they are still being developed and not even nightly builds exist? (which I doubt).
I would have expected Samsung to have given something to its beta testers to play with..
Just a thought..
There were a lot of tweets about your question.
Sadly, the correct answer is A.
Here is the latest:
http://twitter.com/SamsungFirmware/status/21474133152
It's probably more complicated (and I have a theory).
Firstly, the firmware's were probably leaked because Samsung got sick of the people who kept running around saying they were liars and were simply telling people what they wanted to hear. So, they possibly released JP# themselves. It's also possible a carrier requested them for internal testing with Froyo, and they were leaked by the carrier (after all, carriers also want to work on their own customisations, and leakers get an adrenaline rush).
Secondly, having hung around the Songbird project before, Songbird stopped releasing early betas because people are morons. People would post duplicates of known bugs dozens of times wasting resources, and would make ridiculous assumptions based on unfinished code.. It's probable that many people are returning their phones in part because they don't see evidence of change in leaked firmwares. Even now, despite saying they are still working on the GPS fixes, there are a few people running around screaming "it wont get fixed, because Samsung are only making minor changes in leaked firmware".
Then, it's also possible the tree is too broken at the moment to release to anyone, some of the programmers are on leave (it isn't impossible to believe they were working 24/7 up to the launch date of the phone), or they are working on GPS problems and such, which are so complex that they need to be merged in one shot.
Anyway, we can't know for sure, but its a good thing actually if Samsung don't release every single build they compile..

[Q] XOOM HMJ37 update to 3.2 anytime soon?

Any word on when the 3.2 update for those that have build number HMJ37 will arrive?
Just got it. So far I noticed it has a compatabilty option for apps not made for a large screen. I literally just downloaded it so havemt played with it yet. In fact I was coming on here to see if any one else has got it yet. Never mind I I'm tired and didn't read your statement correctly, I have a different model number htj85b

I was wondering why I hadn't gotten the update but since I replaced the data plan on my Xoom with MiFi, I seem to have gotten build HMJ37 somehow. Is this the WiFi only build?

Might be possible. Mine is wifi only with the same build
Thankfully I already got this update and yes it is a bit smoother, yes many apps made for phones will strech to fit(disable spare parts), and yes the sdcard but read only
which build you have?
Xoom wifi only
Android 3.2
HTJ85B
My xoom is 100%stock and is not rooted.
Got my XOOM updated!!!
for those of you stuck with the build HMJ37 and wondering why you can't update, here is the solution I found after scouring mindlessly through webpages:
1. keep your XOOM plugged in or fully charged (for installation purposes)
2. Change your current date (Date & Time) to sometime in the future.
(I changed mine to July 30, 2011)
3. Your update should start working.
@ cappah78
what city do you live? This is a great news.
Just a quick one from a UK User. I was sick of having a device that, whilst identical to the US in terms of design, was not considered a GED device here in the UK (so I have read on numerous forums).
I took the plunge 2 days ago, and flashed US Stock 3.01. Immediately got a request to update to 3.1. Installed, rebooted and immediately got a request to update to 3.2.
So far I've noticed that it's a bit speedier....the Sd Card works, which is amazing for a UK user who hadn't rooted!
On the downside however, it seems it manages to break a few key applications. Adw Launcher Ex 1.3.3 doesn't seem to work (settings are missing etc).
I'm sure they'll catch up again.

[Q] cycle of developement

I've not watched development like this before, mainly because i've only had my evo since august and things were already running for a while.
What I'm wondering though is what the usual time frame is from new version release to fully functional rom? Looks like we are getting close with only a few things missing at this point for ICS.
Thanks
It could still be a long time before we see a final build with everything working since the evo4g is not officially supported for ICS the devs are having to code and compile drivers from scratch, if you've ever written any kind of code from the ground up then you know how long it can take you run into unforeseen errors, problems with code, typos that need to be corrected etc.

Video cast not working

Hi all I have redme 2, with stock rom ,rt now 6.7.1 version, but since the beginning there videos from phone are not playing on my Sony TV, but photos will.!! anyone having this issue ??
Another question the version which I'm having I'd the latest one?? For India ? Mine is running miui 6 still
Thanks
After so many days,& 152 visits,no one have this issue?means only I have !! ??
I have no way to try to reproduce the issue as I do not possess a device capable of recieving video cast.
But wait - you say 6.7.1? How did you get that? The first number usually means the last number of the year it was released, so 6.7.1 would be from July 1st 2016.
5.9.26 is the newest build, but I do not recommend it. There are more things it wreaks havoc in than things it actually fixes. On en.miui.com forum search for version that is about two weeks old, that should do fine
I can't tell the exact number 'cause I use localized miui and the builds are numbered slightly differently.
I, too, had some weird miui version when I turned my new phone on for the first time. It did strange things but after flashing more up to date version it worked.
