So I downloaded and flashed the new EC05 deodexed zipaligned tar and installed the Genocide 1.4GHz Kernel and now my Camera FC's...I press the side camera button and all it does is vibrate like it wants to open and then it gives me 2 more vibrates and FC's!
I'll probably just re-Odin the tar and see if it fixes or maybe go back to a stock EC05...but just wanted to put it out there.
Oh, and I'm only running the kernel at 1120MHz and UV by 50...but I went back to the standard 1GHz with no UV and it still doesnt work.
Ya, I'm having tha same issue 2!! I jus installed the tar & no rom/kernel .. I was wondering if the EC05 made any changes 2 tha apk ?? If not, den we should b able 2 use tha EB13 version ?? I'll test wen I get home

That happened to me today. I got it working by going into Manage Applications and clearing data then it worked just fine
i am also having the same issue. i odin'ed using the stock ec05 deodex tar and i'm getting a FC when opening the camera app. I cleared the data for the camera app and it still FC's on me
i used the camera apk from EB13 and that fixed the problem. Place the apk in /system/app.
I also tried to clear data & reboot, but it didn't work. Thanks for tha apk nnaoumi!! It works now!!

I just reflashed the stock EC05 tar and rooted using the one click root method (2.5.5 version). Tested camera and it was working, then flashed the 1.4GHz Genocide Kernel...tested camera and still good.
I haven't adjusted an frequencies yet or undervolted anything, and camera is still working...so I'll make a backup and do some OC/UV later tonite and post my results...if it craps out then I'll try and load the apk that was posted and see what happens!
Stock .595 Framework with CRT Off for Rooted and DeOdexed Gingerbread .595 and .596 OTA
I followed this guide to enable the animation.
Zip Install
Thanks to gc14 for creating the flashable zip!
NOTE: You may have to mount system before installing the zip file.
Download the zip file here, save it to your SD card, and flash in Clockwork via 'Install zip from SD'.
ADB Install
--Download the attached 'framework-res.apk' and flash it via ADB.--
Code:
adb remount
adb push framework-res.apk /data/local/tmp/framework-res.apk
adb shell
su
stop
rm /system/framework/framework-res.apk
cp /data/local/tmp/framework-res.apk /system/framework/
rm /data/local/tmp/framework-res.apk
reboot
IMPORTANT: Create a backup in Clockwork before attempting to install this.
The animation was tested and is working on my Rooted and DeOdexed Droid X running Gingerbread .595, and on my Rooted and DeOdexed Droid X running .596, with no issues.
What is it with all of you and this damn animation? It's like the second coming or something.
Haha...dont u know its this best thing since urinals

Testing out an update.zip I made with the OP's framework-res. Will upload it if it works!
Ok, took the OP's framework-res and packaged it into an update.zip file that is flashable in Clockwork. Tested it out and it works. OP, feel free to link it in the first post if you want.
NOTE: You MAY have to mount system first before flashing, I did not have to though.
Has anybody tried this on odexed? I've had good luck in the past with the previous animations on non-deodexed setups but my experiences so far with 595 have me a little gun shy.
*Update*
Installing on 595 odexed seemed to freeze on the boot logo. YMMV
*Update*
Repeated and verified (at least with my device). Deodexed is definitely required.
Running .595 rooted and deodexed, crt animation just puts me in a boot loop, battery pull takes me to recovery. Tried a few times
Edit - nm the .595 crt zip works fine for me, my problems were using the old one I had.
DX 2.3.3
Yeah the older one you had used a different version of framework, thats why theres a new zip for. 595

Hmm...I had the same problem. Running .596, I used Clockwork to install the crt animation. I ended up in a boot loop. Pulled the battery, and it took me straight to recovery. What do you mean by saying, "my problems were using the old one I had."?
There was a crt before the .595 one, it boot looped me, then a battery pull took me to recovery. Then crt .595 came out and it worked. Then I went to .596 and crt .595 still works.
DX 2.3.3
Thanks. Did a little reading. My problem may be that the .596 version I'm running is odexed. Seems I need to be deodexed for the crt animation to work?

yeah, probably. I'm running .596 rooted and deodexed. I've always had the most success with that combination.

idk about that, i have seen a thread somewhere says how to manually deodex your phone, and also there is a version of 2.3.3 that comes already deodexed. got mine through the team black hat app. recommended, and well worth the 2 bucks.

people seem to be using this deodexer with success.
Personally, I applied the deodexed .596 over the two part.
I came from a Droid Incredible and before that the Eris (all HTC devices). It was simple to change the boot animation on those, all that needed to be done was copy and paste your new bootanimation with Root Explorer into the system/media folder. I came to the Droid X a month ago and was told that was not exactly possible. Was informed the bootanimations needed to be flashed in recovery. I have been doing that because I could not find the actual bootanimation.zip in the system files.
I loaded the Official .596 update yesterday that was posted by p3droid. Today, I noticed that the bootanimation.zip is now located in the system/media folder. Downloaded a new bootanimation, copied and pasted into that folder (overwrite is necessary) and booted right up.
I am not sure if this is any "new" thing with the .596 update, like I said I searched EVERY file in the previous 2.2.1 and could not find ANY "bootanimation.zip" file. I did find other bootanimation files..but no zip.
Again, not sure if this is new to the .596. I was told when I got the droid X (2.2.1) there was only one way to install a new bootanimation.
There are also zip files you can flash clockwork to change boot animation.
I flashed 596 yesterday and my animation stayed the way I had it, but I used team black hat's app to jump from 595. , I did have to flash crt animation again and droid x 2 sounds again, and re freeze bloat and re install busy box, but I think thats it. Pretty simple stuff.

Sounds like alot! Lol. Only meant by my post it seems that with the. 596 update Motorola made it easier to just copy and paste. Seems like Motorola promising to make development easier (without additional apps) is starting to show. To change bootanimation now..all you need it root access and any file manager. Even the preloaded file manager will do the trick.

I have both froyo and tbh (2 method) on my x's. In both cases root explorer works (at least with the animations I've downloaded; about 15). You just have to rewrite the one you want to bootanimation.zip (change out old one to bootanimation.bak), reboot phone, and it's up. I'm sure there are others ways to do this, but I've always used root explorer and never had to flash into recovery.

I haven't got root explorer to work on any version of 2.3.3 - only force closes for me.
DX 2.3.3
You can also put bootanimation.zip in /data/local/
Works for me

I have Root Explorer working on my .596. I installed all apps, then rebooted into recovery, fixed permissions, rebooted and I have no FC's. Try doing that if you havent already.

Hey, I'm on liberty 2.0.1and since the recent toolbox update, the file to update to rooted gb has been added to nightlies. I downloaded the file, but when I tried to install it, it says the phone will reboot into recovery and install, but my phone just reboots back to normal. I tried redownloading the file, but it just reboots normally. I've been having issues with my phone freezing lately, so I wanted to update to liberty gb. I tried to email jrummy and message him on twitter, but he never responds, which is **** customer service if you ask me. I just want to get my phone working again. Does anyone know about this issue? Any advice?
Thanks,
Garrette

I'm not sure about that. You could always update to rooted/blured GB then load up liberty from there.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
I did that last night. I had to SBF back to stock group though, reboot, then installed prerooted gb. Dl the Liberty toolbox, dl nightly version gb. O9, and it STILL DOESN'T FREAKING WORK!!!!!!!!
It still doesn't reboot into recovery and just restarts the phone normally. Can I just use bootstrap and install the file from there?
yes, u can use bootstrap
Recently my phone has been turning my 3G off by itself. When I turn it on, it stays on for about 10sec and then just turns off. I'm on Clean GB 1.1.2 and running Shadow kernel 3.0. Also I recently used the V6 supercharger. Anyone know anything that might be the problem?

Well I went to cm9 and clean gb back and forth for some time now and noticed that certain apps weren't working and signal was coming off and on solo, with out me pressing "data". And wifi was turning on and off by itself so I just used odin and reverted back to el30 and reflashed cleangb and no problems since than so I would definately recommened it.
And I did never find out why the hell that happened. I always wiped everything and never flashed data back to my calander, or messenger, or email app, etc.

Well nothing is turning itself on and off...the only thing happening is after i activate my 3G, it turns back off after a few seconds...i did find out it has something to with the V6 Supercharger, but its not that there is a problem with the supercharger because that runs great. Their is just something else on my phone that isn't playing well with the supercharger. I might just try to revert back to an old backup and go from there.

Some of the init.d scripts don't play well with all phones and the V6 Supercharger. Use Root Explorer and go to system\etc\init.d folder and delete all scripts in there, reboot then reflash the V6 Supercharger. That should tell you if the V6 is the problem or not.
Make sure you are on the RIGHT version of busybox. Latest CM9's Busybox is too up to date I believe, at least for the Zeppelinrox 3G Turbocharger script I use anyway.

No. Some ROMs don't even have an init.d folder. I recommend Odin to EL30 or FC09 to get your 3G going again and then move forward from there.
