Recently my phone has been turning my 3G off by itself. When I turn it on, it stays on for about 10sec and then just turns off. I'm on Clean GB 1.1.2 and running Shadow kernel 3.0. Also I recently used the V6 supercharger. Anyone know anything that might be the problem?

Well I went to cm9 and clean gb back and forth for some time now and noticed that certain apps weren't working and signal was coming off and on solo, with out me pressing "data". And wifi was turning on and off by itself so I just used odin and reverted back to el30 and reflashed cleangb and no problems since than so I would definately recommened it.
And I did never find out why the hell that happened. I always wiped everything and never flashed data back to my calander, or messenger, or email app, etc.

Well nothing is turning itself on and off...the only thing happening is after i activate my 3G, it turns back off after a few seconds...i did find out it has something to with the V6 Supercharger, but its not that there is a problem with the supercharger because that runs great. Their is just something else on my phone that isn't playing well with the supercharger. I might just try to revert back to an old backup and go from there.

Some of the init.d scripts don't play well with all phones and the V6 Supercharger. Use Root Explorer and go to system\etc\init.d folder and delete all scripts in there, reboot then reflash the V6 Supercharger. That should tell you if the V6 is the problem or not.
Make sure you are on the RIGHT version of busybox. Latest CM9's Busybox is too up to date I believe, at least for the Zeppelinrox 3G Turbocharger script I use anyway.

This didn't start happening till I used the supercharger tho...is there anything in the init.d folder i needed that i deleted? I have a backup from earlier today if i need to go to that.

No. Some ROMs don't even have an init.d folder. I recommend Odin to EL30 or FC09 to get your 3G going again and then move forward from there.

I just started having this problem also. In addition to widgets failing to load my settings reset to default and contacts erase after every reboot. I'm probably just going to do an odin restore unless anyone has any other ideas.

are you running a voodoo kernel?
i think it has something to do with either red cwm or voodoo. i disabled the lag fix and flash a non voodoo kernel with green. that fixed it. using green i flashed another voodoo kernel. when i restarted the phone it did not apply the lag fix. si i rebooted into recovery and got red right away. i enabled the lag fix. restarted and lady android applied the lag fix. when it was done my booted up with all my widgets!!!!!
let me know if anyone else has this problem or theory.
Yes at one point I had run one of the froyo roms/kernels and yes I'm running voodoo. An Odin restore seemed to fix it. Not sure what was the problem.

Several folks over on account had this problem. Getting of red so far has fixed it for everyone. I'm back on voodoo and every thing works great now. But I had to disable lag fix and flash green and flash new voodoo in green before it worked. I have red back but its over green. I didn't even have green before.

I'm having nothing but problems with this update. Feels like samsung just took dk28 and renamed it eb13. I went back to di18 from dk28 so that my phone can work properly thinking that eb13 would be worth the wait but nooooooooo now I'm back to frustration I felt using dk28. Damn samsung did y'all even try to test this or did y'all just rename and called it official?

Here go. Bluetooth once again will not stay connected. Facebook sync force closing checker board web is back wifi is dropping 4g is not worth a damn. volume levels adjust for no reason sms app hangs when sending a text gps takes for ever to lock. I installed EB13 using the windows installer, which totally wipes the phone and I'm having none of those problems. Not knowing how you installed the update it's hard to know what happened but perhaps clearing the caches would help.
i used odin which does a full wipe and im having no issues. im loving this
I updated using the .exe file on the Samsung site and I'm not having any of the issues you listed. And after wiping my memory card it would appear my issues with my media files are gone as well...
Sounds like you should wipe, reinstall and see what happens.

The more I'm reading the more it sounds like the safest, cleanest way to go is the full flash/wipe. I guess I'll have to test how good my data backups are after all...

Basically the full Sammy installer through a PC *sounds* like it will do it. But the recovery boot menu also has an option for clearing the cache and I wonder if that is good to do also before that, just to be thorough.

I think that's true about the full wipe method. The update.zip method assumes that you've got a fully stock phone that you haven't messed around with. That assumption doesn't work all that well with the types who visit xda.
On the plus side, I was using a DK28 rom (quantum) and did a backup in clockwork. After I did the "full wipe" (.exe) method and then did the old 1-click to get root and clockwork back, I was able to go to "advanced" restore in clockword and restore just my data. It worked absolutely perfectly.
Please...please. I beg of you haha. Explain howexactly I would wipe my phone so that I would be able to get te update. I was fooling around and deleted the nascar app and because of this I'm not able to dowload it without and error messege.

sleven, you really should do some reading on the forums and you could easily figure it out: [GUIDE] How To Update Your Samsung Epic 4G to Official "EB13" Android 2.2.1 in the Epic 4G Android Development forum is a pretty damn good place to start. I'd use the Last Resort (Easiest) method if I were you, since you don't seem to be big on figuring things out. CAUTION!!! All three methods listed here will reset your phone to stock, though they will leave your SD card and it's contents alone.
If you want to "upgrade" rather than do a clean install so that you can save your settings & programs, follow this guide:
Download the update.zip file from http://www.multiupload.com/K1MHLS6SNX
Boot into recovery by
Power off your phone
Hold [Volume Down] + [Camera] + [Power] until you're in recovery
Clear cache 3x
Apply update.zip

Droid, from what I understand the "full Sammy installer" completely reformats the partitions and installs a fresh copy of EB13 on Epics. However, I know there's a number of people who recommend booting into recovery (stock or CWM) and clearing the caches 3x in a row. I haven't always done that, but it does seem to clear up a lot of issues that people are having, especially if they flash with Odin / Heimdall.

sleven, I guess I'm taking pity on you, cuz here's a guide to fix your little problem. Be advised, you'll need to have root privileges and a file manager that can navigate root, such as Root Explorer. If you need help getting rooted, see One Click Root & Recovery for the Epic 4G! v2.5.5 Now has ClockworkMod Redirector!
In the Wiki, check out All *.apks & Framework / Apps safe to remove
Download the Epic System Apps.rar file from http://www.megaupload.com/?d=20HJ9004
Unrar it with 7zip, Winrar, Winzip, etc.
Find the Nascar app you deleted and copy it to /system/app
As long as your /system/app folder is identical to the Epic System Apps folder from the .rar (it's ripped straight from a phone), you should be good to follow the guide I gave you in my previous post. Good luck!
Credit where credit is due: obviously I linked to many other people's guides, wikis, etc. Thanks a lot, cuz that's how I learned to do all this!
I didn't wipe and I have no problems at all. All I did was install and run gps status and now I get instant lock even in my house. It think it is going to take awhile for everyone to get use to the setting.

With some people around here you might need to clarify that you mean to wipe the phone, not wipe with the phone....
Everything has been better than 2.1 for me (GPS, browser, etc), except bluetooth. Bluetooth still can't connect in my car.
If bluetooth would work, this ROM would be perfect.

at first my GPS seemed to be much faster and more accurate (locked into 2 meters!) but now this morning I can't seem to get a lock at all...wtf???
I used samsungs pc installer by the way. Maybe I'll try using Odin instead today...
other than that, which is a huge other, the ROM is running great. I did have to root and run the manual sensor calibration utility though to fix the screen lag
edit: Just did a battery-pull reboot and all seems to be well in epic FROYO land.
So I installed kaoscinate v5. I could not get wifi to work.it just said error. When wiped, wiped, wiped and then restored black hole 4.2 my wifi still not work so I tried loading black hole 4.21 on a fresh install.still no go I tried a new install of super clean 2.4. First off, Kaoscinate V5 is in a very early stage, and you should not expect everything to work. Wifi is one of those things. That is one of the things that is not yet supported, so I am not surprised that Wifi didnt work in it. I would go install Adrenalynes Fix All DI01, then the EB01 Modem, EB01 rom, etc...
I knew it would be buggy, I have never tested a newer rom before and did not realize the issues can move from rom to rom when restoring.

Yeah, it kinda sucks, but just get you a good healthy backup, then a good titanium backup. Then worst case you can odin and be right back where you were in twenty minutes. Worth it for me to be able to try out all this cool new stuff.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I will have to do that, I keep titanium up to date. I am going to play with just rom some more I will just have to have a process to recover faster if it happenes again. Thanks for the input.

Seems as if it plays nice w/ some devices and not others.

You have corrupted your data. The ROM has journaling off, so as soon as you pull your battery anything that isn't saved will be lost/corrupted
I updated to EI22, stock w/OTA update. I then rooted and things were working great. Then about 1 week ago, I did a CWM backup and when I restarted the phone just kept automatically rebooting approx. every 3 -4 minutes. I could not stop it no matter what I did. Then I restored the backup and it worked fine. A few days later, I turned the power off to put in a my extra battery, and when I turned it on, the same thing happened. I had to restore twice fir it to stop this time. Then this morning, I did a reboot to see what would happen, and again it happened. Mind you it was working flawless before I restarted it. I have tried everything from removing programs, turning off the wifi, leaving the battery out for a half hour, but nothing. Sometimes after it reboots, I leave it alone for 15 minutes and then when I hit the power button, it just restarts.
Any ideas before I put back froyo??
Sounds like a bad flash. I would Odin all the way to Stock EC05 then root then flash a Gingerbread ROM. Your error is either in the kernel or recovery to happen immediately after boot. It could even be a flaky partition table.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
OK. Funny, I flashed backed to a stock EC05 and did the OTA update so as to possible avoid any problems like this.

I figured that but the problem may lie in the rooting which required you to flash a kernel or in your recovery module.

ADW was nice enough to bring up a crash report that I emailed myself. In the stack trace I see that android Package manager has died as a cause of the exception. I am not a java programmer so am at a loss here to what's happening.

So I flashed to the ACS ICS rom and so far no problems. What a great ROM!! Many thanks to Marcusant and ACS.

don't use the OTA.
just root ec05, flash CWM 5, flash modem update ec05 to EI22, flash a rom of your choosing. it's that simple. i don't see why people go the OTA route. it just causes problems with the recovery.
EDIT: also if you want Rom manager, check the kernel(or rom) for compatibility.

It was not supported for the Epic before but with the new CWM5 it is. It is much faster to boot into recovery from ROM Manager rather than powering down and 3 fingering into it. Plus ROM Manager supports renaming your backups when you are doing them. Also ROM Manager will continuously update your CWM if new versions come out. There is also OTA updates available if the developer supports it on their ROM.
