Default processor settings - Galaxy Tab General

Does anyone know the factory processor settings. I am on a overclocked kernel and want to bring it back down. Thank you.

Assuming overclockng is giving you issues, but sizeable it in Superuser and it'll return to stock.

Acer A500 stuck on lockscreen

Went to use my tablet this morning and it was stuck on the lockscreen, it was completely un- responsive. I rebooted it by holding the power and volume down. It worked ... But only having this tablet for under a week, should i take it back , and is this a hardware issue? I'm running 3.1 on it, should I Exchange it? Or is there a fix?

Sounds like a rogue app.
Hmmm.... Could be? I'm an avid ROM flasher when it comes to my phone, my tablet I'm pretty much noob. I'll check that.. I was also thinking maybe the set cpu was too high?

What is your CPU set at?
I am running richardtrip's kernel, Max set to 1504, min set to 216 and all is fast and stable.
I'm running the honey villain ROM, 1000 max 216 min..

That's not over clocked - afaik, that's stock clock speed.

You need that kernel cleaning script. I don't know if I'm allow to post the file here, and I'm bot sure what post it is again. I can tell you the file name is
ultimate_kernel_cleaning_script_v2_by_lippol94.zip
Hope it helps.

Thanks man. I'm back to norm

FYI, the next version of glitch is possibly going to have a modified recovery that will have options to clear voltage settings and things to save us from problems like this
Do you know when it's coming out?

No, glitch has been recoding it from scratch so it will be a while, no eta.

V12 is out and does have the new recovery...
Some have been having issues with lag using the default deadline scheduler. CFQ has been great for me, I just change it on a reboot for the time being, have not gotten around to using the script that will allow the change to stock but it's out there...
Question:
Does Glitch kill the battery? I lowered VC to the minimum. When I first rooted and used the other kernel, I got excellent battery life. Now, TERRIBLE.
I did flash Glitch V12.

give it acouple charge cycles to recalibrate. Oh and I would wipe battery stats in cwm aswell.

I run trinity kernel on my Gnex and N7 and on my N7 I keep it stock speeds because I've seen no reason to realistically OC it. Most of the improvements I see are from the kernel software changes over stock. You can OC to 1.6 safely but I'm not sure of the power usage difference but I'm pretty sure the loss in power isn't worth the gain from OCing.

I have mine at 1.6 just for the hell of it, I get a good 4 or 5 hours of continuous usage out of it.

For the benefit of the community, can you tell us any major changes at 1.6 GHz?
Is there anything noticeably faster?
Hi, I have a related question but can't post since I'm new.
Using the glazed rom which i like but it apparently has gpu overclock. I would like to know how to adjust that back to stock setting or at least see what it currently is. I found the CPU section but there is no gpu I can see.
Is there a tool I can use?
Sorry for the hijack...at least its sort of on topic
IMO over clocking is a gimmick, its the kernel build

My thoughts exactly. I play some light games and web browse on my Nexus 7.
For those purposes, my Nexus 7 is already extremely fast, so I don't think I would be able to notice if it was over clocked.
But I guess it depends, maybe there's a big difference when running GPU heavy games.
I have OC mine upto 1640 MHz for bench marking alone for half and hour or probably more and it went fine although the tablet was getting warmer more than usual.

Hi,
I decided to flash trinity kernel.
I am currently OC to 1.5yghz, is that a safe level to keep it at full time? Or can that burn the cpu out?
Thanks again
Cheers
Corey
Edit,
I over clocked my galaxy s2 ages ago, and I noticed a huge difference in performance.
So that is why I want to over clock my n7 too lol

there is no such thing as a safe overclock. overclocking, by nature, carries some risk. that said, i havent seen anyone brick their device from overclocking.

Just wondering
Why do you feel the need to OC?
I go to 1.6 but use the Trinity App to go back to stock when OC not needed
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I have not over clocked the Nexus 7 yet but one way to test your devices max is to use setcpu. Make sure you do not have "set on boot" option selected. Then step up your cpu. If your cpu can not handle the over clock it will force restart. If you do not have the set at boot selected it will revert back to the last good state on restart.
Each device is different on what it can handle for over clock.

To be honest I doubt you'll notice much increase from oc the CPU since the CPU already is so powerful nothing pushes it to max really.
Only thing worth overclocking is GPU really. And at that, your not going to notice a difference unless your playing some intense games.

Kernel help.. Please.

Alright. My first post of course is a question. Lol. But first off gotta say thanks everyone especially all the devs. Awesome work guys. Well to the reason of this post. I just traded my note 2 for a brand new. Unopened nexus 4 16gb. And i got it rooted and running
Aokp mako. With fauxs 123 kernel. But anyways. Either inset cpu or the performance tool in main settings the kernel is getting stuck at min 1026mhz. Ive flashed three different kernels so far. A was originally on revolt rom. Did super clean installs and all. Im very familliar with samsung, and the rooting and some tweaking. But not no coding. Any help would be great. Loving the phone by the way and way too any good roms to choose from. Haha.

That could be a bug with the ROM. I would try using an app to set the CPU frequency and see if it sticks.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I tried set cpu and cpu tuner aswell. If i set a screen off profile to dumb it down it works. But with screen on it wont go down.. Thanks for the reply.

Best, most stable, most usable ROM atm?

I'll start things off for you...
It all depends on what you want out of your phone. My set up is for battery performance so I've got omega rom v3.1 teamed up with kt-sgs4 kernel. Under volted by 50 across the board, under clocked when screen off and some smaller tweaks to help eek more battery out...
After full day of use with wifi, bluetooth, gps and air gestures on I've still got 48% battery left...
But equally u could use the same set up for performance if needed by changing some kernel tweaks like screen off mhz, Overclocked cpu and gpu etc etc

What's the best recovery?
I could give you a link to the one that works best for me but it'll probably brick your phone.
