I am trying to radio stations that are broadcast over the INTERNET but my hd2 will not play them. I have downloaded so many flash apps but none have worked. I cant see you tube either. Has anyone done this?
If you are using a Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM flash is not compatible with the Windows Mobile OS. You will have to either run a 2.2 Froyo or better Android build from SD card or flash A NAND Android 2.2 Froyo or better ROM to you HD2 to be able to use Flash.
Go check OPENweb Radio out for listening to live radio broadcast over the internet.

If you are talking about the Youtube app or the streaming media player there is one of both of those in the stock ROMs. If you are talking about a streaming media player in the web browser the internet explore in all Windows MObile ROMs have what is called Flash player light which is a very simple version of the flash player and only works on sites like youtube that are used for nothing but streaming media. But Youtube is almost the last sight to support flash player light as the flash player has upgraded a lot since the light version came out and Andriod supports full flash now so most sites are dropping or have dropped support for flash player light.

hi everyone. i am wondering how many of you are able to view
http://www.youtube.com
content on your athena using opera or t'internet explorer?
I am presuming that most people at the moment are using t-mobile
devices and roms which come with bult in opera like mine. I saw a post for a new version of flash player for ppc so i updated expecting to be
able to view youtube movies.......
I have tried to update opera as well to 8.65b but this hasnt helped me.
Does anyone else have any luck?

This is what I found on the topic...

Based on my research...there are mixed results - some can play YouTube while others can't. Someone reported that there seems to be a compatibility issue between the Flash available for PocketPC's and the Flash used to encode the video on YouTube. Another article above mentions installing the latest Opera AND Flash Player 7 for PPC. Apparently YouTube uses the latest Flash while the latest version of PocketPC Flash is equivalent to 7.x. Since 7.x isn't forward compatible then you can't watch the video's on your PPC until they come out with an updated version. This is what i found based on my Google searches. There is also a report that YouTube is making their site PocketPC compatible in May. If I find otherwise, I'll post it for you guys.
well you can play youtube vids with the new opera beta and latest flash player...at least on the jasjar
the only prob being that it is way to choppy at the moment

When you said it is choppy, could you also clarify what network were you using? Is is UMTS or HSDPA? What download speed was it when you made that observation?
Thanks for the info.

its here guys, both are fully working with the latest rom from SEUS --- youtube cab app was downloaded from youtube usingmy xperia
you don't have to install the flash player for the youtube app to work, i guess the flash player is just for internet explorer
flash player 7 here
Code:
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer_pocketpc/
and the youtube app here
so, and..... isn't flash lite 3 already player 8(!) ?
and if it is, flash lite 3 wont work for me
yup, you are right.... didn't work for me either! However, THIS ONE WORKS finally !!! Thanks for the link!!!
What exactly does flash player 7 do?
Is it a flash lite plug in?
Is it an application player like youtube panel?
not working for me, on you tube not even showing box for video just the web page with comments.

what is the quality like on the utube app is this for the xperia?
The youtube app is very nice.
What's with this utube crap... it seems everybody just is concerned How utube plays!
For me it is important that website using flash content display and one can navigate through such websites!!!
So, with opera and flash lite, most websites using flash content did not display (only a white or black box was displayed!).
Now with flash 7, in Internet Explorer(!) these websites are displayed correctly and show their flash content.
Meaning, one can now fully access such websites. That's all
doesnt work with my internet explorer. still cant view flash sites...
What kind of a statement is that??? What is your ROM version, etc.?
Because on my X1i, unbranded Generic_UK R2AA10 it works PERFECTLY!
michael, what exactly is the difference between flash player 7 and flash lite 3.1 for X1?
Neither Flash Lite 3.1 nor Flash Player 7 works on my X1 with R2AA7 firmware.
Heh, so we have a little mess here...
On my side, I'm still on R1,
and FlashLite 3.1 shows almost all Flash content on websites....
But I use Opera Mobile 9.5.
Actually after restart flash player 7 did show some kind of flash content in opera 9.5 (I do not use IE mobile at all), but the content was kinda broken (did not show as it should be). Maybe a newer version of flash was on that pages (flash 7 is very old).
But this content did not scroll with the page. It stayed on the same place of the screen and totally messed up my pages. This flash cripples the pages more than it shows anything good.

As well I checked it,
YouTube app from youtube shows these small, mobile videos which are disaster,
compared to YouTube panel which some of us use... Which shows perfect video.

o well gd for u then. lol.
im also using X1i on generic uk r2aa10 with r3a panel manager. but ie wont display any flash content. not a big deal tho.
i already got flashlite installed and most flash content displays well on opera.
I just got my xperia last wednesday and installed flash player 7 and I was able to watch bbc iplayer and listen to music on a specific website on opera. The next day I updated the firmware via SEUS to r2a and reinstalled flash player 7 but i was unlable do do either of those thing. Now when I go on the sites the players just keep loading and doesn't appear properly, I unistalled flash player 7 and installed flashlite 3.1 but with that there are no players at all. Is this due to the firmware update or an I doing something wrong.
By the way is the any news on the official r3a firmware release date.
I had a rom on my xda exec it was 6.1 I dont know what version didnt do the flash
It had a streaming player built in that played youtube, now I have upgraded to a TOMAL rom and had to install the Streaming Player only IE explorer does nothing when I press Play Now on youtube and opera5 wont even give me the option, it just shoows text.
WTF is different with TOMAL? Why cant I play youtube when the previous rom did and Why wont opera display as IE does???
Its becoming a joke, every youtube app doeasnt work including the 1 on orb3000s stig and anyway, THE PREVIOUS ROM PLAYED IT NO PROBLEM! WHY NOT NOW???
Just tried using SkyFire browser and thats not working too, if only flash would work
Then no it won't work since I've tried the ARM v6 modded Flash Player and it doesn't work on the iPlayer/ITV Player sites and apps.
Would upgrading to the 2.3 release not help this?

BBC made them kill the iPlayer streaming and even with old versions of the .apk they seem to have blocked it from accessing their streams.
There's beebplayer.
There's also catchuptv.com
Think you mean m.tvcatchup.com, only does live tv though
beebplayer hasn't worked (for me) for a long time now
read somewhere that bbc iplayer works on gsf 19 thru skyfire
I use stock browser
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App
I can confirm that skyfire can play iplayer files from video library I didn't manage to start the live stream video, but radio streams work fine.
I use GSF (b13), but this should work on other roms (there is no need for flash player).
I have american android 2.3.7 CM7,2 NAND
I have installed adobe flash player 11.
Im using opera mobile browser or dolphin browser.
When Im watching a flash video the player is not able to play it properly. The image suddenly stops whilst the sound is going on. Or the video stops working completely.
Could somebody tell me where the problem could be ?
The problem is in ADOBE
They screwed flash player lately. You can't do much.

I'm using TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 Nightly v3.7.6 and use maxthon browser (latest version) and touch wood all flash seems to be working well for me, Maybe give maxthon a go?
You know, flash player is also hardware dependant. So if adobe doesn't fully support older hardware then video playback is not smooth. Also last updates made it only worse. Evo 3D is very powerful unit, and even on software rendering far exceeds HD2 capability
