Hello, I have some problem, my windows mobile 6.5 standart doesnt show name when I get sms message, I mean It show only number of sender, but senders number is saved in contacts, doesnt wm should show name of contact? Where is the problem?

On my MDA, when I go to the contacts, I don't see the phone numbers but only the name of them and it's well (I have choosen to display them like this in the options)...
But when I want to send a SMS and I go to the contacts by this way, the name AND the phone number is displayed ?!?!
How can I only display the names in the sms application too ?

You can't, as this view does not have any option to choose which number should be used. So it displays the contact one time for each attached number.
hi guys, just asking whether there is a way to make the built in messaging program search the no other than mobile phone no in my contacts? (what I mean is when I wan to send an sms to one of my contacts, we can just type a few letter of the contact name and a list of mathing name will pop up and then you can choose from that list. but the only no showing is for mobile phone only. some of my contact has more than 1 mobile phone no.)

Is it possible to edit a sms which was send to my mobile phone and is stored in the inbox?
Cause there are some sms which are labeled with the phone number of the senders but not with the senders name (but exists in my addressbook).
How can I add the senders name to these sms afterwards?

i was searching for this but found no answer..
in Messaging (and also on TF3d) i see number of sms and not of the contact who has send me the sms. only from persones that i have as favorites (on persones tab on tf3d) the sms shows correct name..
is there any setting which shows only names..
i have tryed allready to move the value in HCLU/.../phone (which is in topaz wiki) from 8 to 9 and to 10 and back to 8 but it shows only numbers...

This happened to me today. I had one of my friends numbers entered incorrectly so obviously when the text came it showed the number and not the name.
After correcting the number in my contact list, on the black touch flo screen listing the texts, it still shows the text with the number and not the name, even though when I click on the text, it correctly identifies it with the correct person and shows it in their list of text messages.
All other texts from him now show his name in the black touch flo screen, but that original text still just shows his number. This must mean the sender is stored with the message the moment it arrives, instead of being looked up whenever it is required.
This also means it should technically be possible to rename who your texts came from by editing some file or other.
When my friends send the SMS to me, sometimes(not every number) there is no name displayed while the number is in my contact.
Is that a bug that's anybody met it?
