'Blank External SD card' ???

was trying to access a game after putting it into my phone and it froze, causing me to take out the battery and restart it.
After that, the phone wouldn't read the memory card but everything was fine.
I went back to stock and still, it's not reading it but everything else works fine. I will eventually have to re-root it but anyone know what the problem is?
after pulling down the upper bar, it says "SD card blank or has unsupported file system." HELP!!!!!!!!!!
Do You have a micro sd to sd adapter and an sd reader? If so, does your computer read the info? If not then the card is messed up, and needs to be formatted (lose everything) or replaced. Sometimes cards just die.
If you don't have an adapter and sd reader, then you can try formatting it from your phone but again, you will lose everything.
Had a similar problem, in the end bestbuy replaced my sd card as it happened the day I bought my phone. I would start by trying to use it in either another phone or on a computer(like in a usb micro sd card adapter)

seems like the card died because of a corrupted game file,..which sucks!
think I need to get another SD card...dammit..
computer won't read it, phone won't read it..
and like you devastator, i got the phone 5 days ago and had to replace the phone once already because of a crack inside the screen causing dead pixels. blahhh

Samsung Focus, missing SD Card

There is 8GB internal, if I wanted to remove the card I put in, I just need to remove it and Windows Phone will go to the internal storage?
There is 8GB internal flash memory. The MicroSD card is optional.
I thought it was something like that. It did just need time to charge.
If I was to say have put in any old card, and I wanted to remove said card, I can turn it off remove and re-format?
All fixed. Sorry. I clearly didn't get enough sleep and therefore am unable to think for myself.

You can reformat the phone but the card is another story. Search around here for explanation but basically it formats and passwords the card to where only a few devices can reformat it.

Dropped phone, now it can't see my micro SD

Hi guys, I dropped my phone for the first time EVER in my life (was really sleepy).
Now I can't use my sd card, the phone gave me a popup that it was unexpectedly removed and after that it keeps saying it encountered a problem.
Things like Gallery tell me to "please insert an sd card", it's in there!
I have no idea what to do and it's at least three months left until I can get a new phone, please help me.
Oh, by the way, my phone's not rooted, just normal HTC Sense.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Thread can be closed, I was a dummy and didn't try to remove battery first.
Haha i know the feeling
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
try to remove it and put it back again. if that doesnt help..recover your photos and everything else with some software and format it
Oh my God..
I didn't even drop it and now it happened again!
Removing the battery and micro sd card didn't work. :crying:
Depending on what important info you have on your SD card, you could consider formatting it via your PC, if you have an SD card slot somewhere.
I had a similar issue some months ago, and formatting the card (via Windows) did the trick.
Of course, remember that formatting the card will erase all data on it, and therefore it could render some apps on your phone to be useless / or not work.
(This might sound weird, but if you have another SD card, try formatting that too and putting that in your phone. Then take out the battery, put the original SD card in and see if it is OK after booting up.)

[Q] SD card reading issue

Hi Guys! Recently my DVP felt down and the LCD is crashed so I would like to make a use of its SD card. Here I encountered some problems. Non of the card readers wants to open this card. It even doesn't show up as a mounted device (Debian). Is it somehow locked or so ? When I pack it back to DVP it works still fine. Any ideas how to format it to make use of it ?
Regards
I have the same exact issue as you!!
Dropped my DVP and cracked the screen. Still turns on, but can't see anything as the LCD is dead.
None of my card readers read the card. I have other SDHCs which open perfectly.
I would also like to know if there is some way to force format it.
My card reader drive on my laptop does not show up unless a card is inserted. Since it isn't reading the card, nothing is showing up.

This is a known issue, All windows phones lock the SD card and format it in an unreadable format.
There used to be a list in the HD2 WP7 section with devices that can reformat the SD card. (I believe nokia phones are among them).
Thanks man!

SD card unexpectedly removed

i moved my old sd card over (its a 64 GB sandisk UHC1, class 10). every so often i get a notification that its preparing sd card or the sd card was removed. anyone else experience this? i unmounted, removed, rebooted, and put it back.... no luck.
All the time...
I get this all the time and it is quite annoying as it will happen while I am taking photos or video. The only work around is to have the camera record to the phone's internal storage then move all the photos and videos over. However, while viewing photos or videos and the phone throws the unexpectedly removed error, the whole phone will lock up and doesn't even respond to the power button. I have to remove the battery and put it back in to reboot after it has locked up.
I think the way they designed the SD card slot is just flimsy. I miss the satisfying spring-loaded SD card slot that felt like it was locking the SD card in there. I've pushed down on the metal above the slot to see if that helps, but so far it has not.
I really love this phone, but if the SD card keeps having problems I may send it back and get something else.
