What in Rom Manager are we looking for?
Why is this in the "Developer" Section?

There are a few themes (haven't tried them) from Onix Concepts and more build.prop tweaks.
And wouldn't this be in dev as you have to be rooted and you are modifying system files (developing...)?

No... in that case... that means that themes would have to be in the dev section too.. right??
I see this post as a "Hey check this out" which is more general.
But I just really wanted to know what to look for in the Rom Manager. I've seen the build.prop tweaks there. I will have to look at Onix themes
I Installed the red one there I did not like the red ring around the black task bar. I did not try the other do to I love the color black and red together and I had my phone themed perfect before then. went back to my old theme.
Are they for 2.2 only

I recently picked up a used, rooted TF101 and I am loving it. The rom on it was a fairly unstable release of ICS and I quickly changed it to Rev.HD and it works great.
But, the previous rom had the ability to add a couple of programs to the unlock circle as well as the ability to hold the power button and reboot, reboot into recovery and power down the unit. These functions are not built into Rev. HD unless I am missing something, and that is possible. The other odd thing happens in Google Play, I do not see the whats new section for any of the apps that want to update. I could be missing something, have been using, rooting and roming my Motorola Droids for years, but ICS is a little different.
Thanks Matt
Well I can awnser your first question and indeed there is no advance power menu.
and second, I don't understand your question.
and 3, this topic is totaly wrong.
3a. if you post questions do that in the question forum
3b. this could be posted in the ARHD topic.
Please follow up these comments...

I am new to this site, the banner for the general section was subtitled with "Q&A". If there is a section that is for ARHD and not for development I would be happy to post there, but I have not been here long enough to hit 10 posts so I could not post in the development section.
I will try to explain my last question better... On my phones, in GPlay, when I choose one of my installed apps to update I get several panes. One of the is titled "What's New" and it lists changes in the current version. I do not ever see this pane in ICS GPlay and I really like to review this info. On the tablet when I choose an app to upgrade it goes straight to the "accept and download" pane.
Am I doing something wrong?
You were probably on a cm9 based rom which would explain the power menu with reboot to recovery and such. Megatron is probably closer to what you are looking for.
TF101 Megatron 1.0.4 Guevor test 19.2
The first ROM you had was probably a custom ROM also.
There's two ROM i know that you can customized the lock ring to add apps. AOKP and Team EOS and both those had Power button menu.
The Play Store work a little different on tablet vs phone.
When you see an app with update avaiable, you'll see a panel with teh usual "Open, Update or Uninstall" option.
Click on the app's icon, it will take you to a page with "What's New" ect.
First of all thanks to mike1986 for his work on this ROM.
I bought the Transformer rooted and with REVOLUTION HD ROM installed (don't remember the version 2.... ). After this i updated to 3.2.1 ROM and ALL was perfect. No errors, no random reboots no incompatibility with any app that i needed.
Since I was so confident with this ROM and the quality, I decided to upgrade to the last version (3.4.2) last night. All went ok, booted to lock menu and started to continously reboot. After litle observing I disabled the Wi-Fi and no more reboots. So i started to uninstall all apps related to wi-fi that I had installed in previous ROM (Wi-Fi manager, widget, Auto airplane mode). Than again I enabled the Wi-Fi via setings menu and the reboots returned.
Now i have the transformer with ROM 3.4.2 but no Wi-Fi!!! since it is not a 3G model, this puts me in a very frustrating situation .
Does anybody know how can i solve this matter or please post a link to REVOLUTION HD ROM version 3.2.1!
Many thanks to all and I hope someone can help me with this.
Solved my wi-fi problem
What can I say.... some digging in this forum and one solution was found . Even if the original post say you should not wipe if you are coming from dev's own ROM, actualy you should wipe. I just did that and installed again ROM 3.4.2.
Now all is working as it should!
Thanks again for this to all involved
Other tips. Look for an app here at XDA although I'm not sure if it was a transformer subforum or not called Reboot to Recovery. A shortcut to it on your home screen will give you the ability to reboot to recovery of the ROM you're using didn't offer that.

Thank you for this info. i'm stable and happy with ROM 3.4.2. for my next update i'll keep this in mind.
When I first started playing with custom roms, ARHD 3.4.2 was definitely my favorite. It has a very stock feel to it with many optimizations.
But when when I developed a better understanding of recovery and flashing roms, I switched to AOKP and its derivatives. They offer you a lot more customization options. I'm currently running Steel Droid v2 with the Harmony rev3 kernel.
Make sure to make a nandroid backup and use an app like titanium backup to keep everything safe and then experiment and find what's best for you.
ARHD is great, but I like Steel Droid sooooo much more!

When providing bug reports, please provide some simple information such as:
ROM version (I know it's just the first version, but for future reference...)
Steps you followed to install (yes, write them out)

Sounds pretty good. Looking forward to trying it.

Ok so wiped everything twice like you said... Chose custom installation (the one where you don't have to reinstall the ROM for changing anything) and I chose devil kernel, stock theme, and the some apps. But I noticed that when I go to settings /about phone every thing there is from the rom I was running before this, like kernel and mod version.. I believe this ROM is based on slim but it has an aokp theme (the one I had before fishing this.) And if I go to system/xxxx everything there is also from the previous ROM I was running. but the ROM is very fast smooth and responsive. I came from simply aokp v6

Correct, this is a mod of SlimICS, hence TiramiSLIM. So...your issue with messaging FC'ing remains? And to clarify...what kernel and mod version show up in your current setup?
Also, what messaging app did you install? Inverted? Stock?

Glad it worked for you, and thanks for keeping the issue updated!
Thanks for porting this. I hope to see your thanks meter continue to go up. I know it more than doubled today!
A couple questions if you don't mind-
On the original post in the I9000 forums, they have some sweet themes. What is the best way to go about getting those? Are they available for the captivate?
I found in that forum that others are trying out different kernels. Have you experimented at all? It seems to me that the one that comes with it doesn't support overclock and BLN through NSTools.
EDIT: The latest version of Devil Kernel works for me so far.

thanks Zzmomo. Use update-me app for themes (instructions are in original thread). kernels can be flashed in aroma installer. Update me app probably has i9000 kernels...I'll check this out.
So yeah...I'll have to release an update to the ROM to fix the update me app for the captivate. I'll probably also release an update.zip so current users don't have to download the whole ROM again.

joshlevinson this is a very nice rom. works like a charm !!! thank you so much for this!
I was messing around a bit and tried putting galaxy s3 ui sound instead of the regular ones. I replaced them using Root explorer and changed all the permissions to the right one and rebooted but it didn't work so I tried putting the default ones back but still didn't work... Any way I can get then back without having to reflash the ROM.. And if I do have to reflash it do I need to wipe or not
Sent from my SGH-I897 using xda premium
Did you replace the sounds in the aroma installer, or just by using root explorer? Please explain the process a bit more.

OK for replacing the file, I got them from team remics and I took system/media/audio/UI and replaced them with the ones from this rom. Set permissions and rebooted...
Then for the reflash process I wiped cache and dalvik cache , used modify me and selected devil, then replaced galaxy s3 and delete default sound, and selected some apps.. and rebooted but still no sound... so then I reflashed using default installation and then flashed again using modify me and all worked. Sorry for the trouble

Is there a way we can get smart dialing on this phone? i know theres tons of apps out there but i like the stock look and feel of the vanilla android dialer. any help would be greatly appreciated:laugh::good::cyclops:

Same!
When y'all are asking for a "[MOD]", does that mean you're looking for something you can flash with a recovery mod?
If yes, I know CyanogenMod adds this feature to the stock dialer. However, I don't know if that's something you can just extract the phone .apk and upload. However, if you're able to flash would you consider flashing a new ROM anyway? Most nightlies of the big roms (CM10.1, AOKP) are usually really stable on Nexus devices because they have all of the proper drivers & source for everything. Nightlies aren't as stable on other phones because they're missing device-specific drivers and such.
If no, then nevermind. I don't know of an option to add this ability to the stock dialer. Sorry.
exDialer
Been using this since I got the phone. Skinable, no ads, and quick
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.modoohut.dialer&hl=en
A couple of the custom ROMs have this feature (Paranoid Android being one of them). You can either flash one of the ROMs that include it, or try to extract the dialer apk from it and try installing it.
I would prefer a new modded apk over a new rom. Anyone have the apk from cm10?

For deodexed ROMs

Hi all,
This is probably my first post so before I go ahead I'd like to thank all developers on this site. It's got a wealth of information that helped me a lot.
Unfortunatey I haven't found a way to do this yet, so I'm posting and asking for help with this issue I'm having...
I used to run CM10.1 on my Nexus 4, I always patched that rom with autopatcher to apply openpdroid so I could set privacy stuff using the Pdroid Manager app.
I decided to go back to the stock rom due to issues I was having (my phone actually got bricked and I managed to fix it following excellent instructions that I found here).
Now I can't apply the openpdroid patch to the stock ROM because autopatcher only accepts zip files and I'm sure that it needs the structure of the ROM.zip to work. The Google factory image is a ROM.tgz file and upon extracting a zip and the factory image, I noticed that the structure is completely different. I have no idea how to create a zip file out of the stock rom.
I'm wondering if anybody could do this? I'm not sure if autopatcher requires deodexing... All I need is a stock 4.3 mako image in the form of a zip file that works like the CM roms, so I can patch it with openpdroid via autopatcher.
Is this possible? Could someone here do it, please?
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.
Thanks all for reading!
Welcome to the great xda-developers forums
Well you should search the Forum with the forum search for a tutorial to zipalign your stock rom, there are many out there i think.
I think i even saw a rom kitchen for that.
That thread belongs to Q&A by the way

Just my opinion but I think it would be better to find a stock, 4.3 deodex ROM in a flashable zip. I'm dead sure there's a few floating around in android or original android development. That would make it easier to patch
Edit: this should do, stock 4.3 zip:
