Hi guys,
Ok so apparently I flashed the P1000 firmware to a SCH-i800 device. As one would expect it is now bricked. I can get it to boot into download mode by plugging the device into the wall and holding down the Vol Down button. However, I cannot get it to power up while connected to my PC to flash it. Is there anyway this can be done?
Anyone?
Hmm by any chance. Do you know what firmware was on it? What carrier are you bound to as they may have their own firmware? Details please. Also when you connect tab in download mode does it appear in odin (yellow box with com# in it).
I am not sure which firmware was on the device before I started messing with it. The carrier is Verizon Wireless. Since the flash I've now got the device recognized by Odin however I cannot seem to find the correct firmware to flash to the device. So yes the box is yellow in Odin.
Does anyone know where I can find the firmware for the Verizon Wireless tablet?
I did a quick search and this is what i could find: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/sa...84-how-restore-vzw-galaxy-tab-stock-dj11.html
sorry but i use a gsm tab. And you tried to flash a gsm firmware on cdma tab. I am not familiar with cdma systems or firmware.
What is a SCH i800?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA Premium App
SCH i800 is the model number for a Samsung Galaxy Tablet.
Update:
OK so I was able to flash the Galaxy Tab using Heimdall and a Verizon Wireless stock rom which I found here: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/sa...84-how-restore-vzw-galaxy-tab-stock-dj11.html.
The tablet is now booting to the Verizon Wireless logo and then hangs. I can boot into recovery mode which I did a factor data reset. However, the tablet is still hanging at the Verizon Wireless logo. What now?
Boot into recpvery. Wipe data wipe cache. Do a facory reset. Reboot and pray. Reboot might take a while. Good luck.
Sucess! Finally got it unbrick. I'm not sure what I did wrong the first time but I reflashed it with Heimdall again and it booted up just fine (After the data wipe of course). Thanks for the help all!
Glad to see you up and running. I know how frusturating and scary a brick is. Enjoy tabbing. Stick to cdma section NOT gsm. You are on verizon.
Congrats my friend.
Well apparently I spoke too soon . I booted up and starting using the tab. The home, menu and power buttons are not responding. I could live without home but menu and power are kind of a must if ya know what I mean.
Here's some stats about the tab.
Model number: SCH-I800
Firmware version: 2.2
Baseband version: S:I800.0.3v.DJ11
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #3
Build number: SCH-I800.DJ11
Try flashing this: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/sa...o-files-minus-data-partition.html#post1370704. Roto stock for verizon.
Before doing that. Try pushing power button till tab is off boot into recovery and do a factory reset from recovery.
Update:
OK so I tried that dump. Still no joy, heimdall reports this error "Failed flashing modem could not verify end of file transfer." I rebooted and all is the same as before. Power button does not respond same with the home and menu keys.
Well My friend. I am at the end of my wits here. I am no expert in CDMA tabs. I suggest you dig in droid forums searching there. And search the CDMA section to find out what you can do to recover.
Looks like I forgot to flash the PIT file first. Flashed that and now the home and menu are working. Haven't tried the power button but I am assuming all is well. Thank you all for the help!
Again Glad to see you up and running hopefully for good this time. Again I repeat stick to CDMA section. READ AND SEARCH THOROUGHLY before attempting to flash custom roms.
I wante help.
I have the sch-i800 with this problem at boot, can be seen on youtube.
watch?v=SycgNS--By4 on youtube
Already tried the possible solutions presented. As well as all the ROMs I found for this product and nothing worked. someone help me?
How did you get into recovery if when i did around the same thing i could only get into download mode nothing else

I recently purchased an off contract Verizon Tab from a friend.
I had successfully rooted it using the superoneclick.exe file.
I since decided to flash Overcome_v1.2.1 with Odin using the exact steps as listed & even watched the video 2x.
"Click start and wait for PASS! to show highlighted green on Odin.
9. Your Galaxy Tab will Reboot, and get stuck on the Samsung Boot Screen. This is fine.
10. Turn your Galaxy Tab off by holding the power button for about 5 seconds.
11. Turn your Galaxy Tab on into RECOVERY mode (Press Volume UP and Power On at the same time).
12. The Galaxy Tab will now perform the EXT4 conversion.
13. Sit tight, depending on how much data you have, this can take quite a long time.
14. Once finished, click reboot system now (by pressing the power button)."
Now...I don't know what "quite a long time" is but after 30mins, there was still nothing but a blank sceen w the tell tale sign of a light, thin, margin type as seen on the video.
I then followed these steps:
"IF your Tab does not boot after flashing the kernel and hangs at the Samsung Galaxy Tab screen, you must follow the following procedure
1.Get a stock rom package (any of Rotohammer's firmwares will work)
2.Get P1_add_hidden.zip attached to this post and extract the P1_add_hidden.pit file
3.Using Odin 1.7, put stock rom (Roto-JME-Full-v4.tar for example) in PDA slot.
4.Put P1_add_hidden.pit in Pit slot
5.Check repartition box
6.Put Tab in download mode by holding Volume Down and Power, connect to the computer, and press start.
7.After this, the Tab will reboot normally. Shut it down and return to download mode.
8.Open Odin 1.7 and reconnect the Tab.
9.In the PDA slot, choose the Overcome Kernel v2.0 tar file for use with Odin. Press start
10.It will flash the kernel then reboot. Upon reboot, you should hear the sexy robot voices informing you of the status of the EXT4 conversion.
11.Once done, the Tab will boot normally. At this point you can load Overcome v1.2.2 rom (or any other Rom of your choosing)
12.NOTE - Overcome 1.2.2 includes v2.0 of the kernel, so no reflashing is required after install."
I never got past the part in step 10 to hear any responses. And instead of searching for one of Rotohammers FIRMWARES as suggested, I input a kernel from Voodoo!
Now I can STIL get into DL mode but whenever I try a normal reboot or recovery, it runs through -Wiping DATA- Formatting DATA---DATA: Wipe failed!
over and over until the Tab reboots and when the samsung splash screen somes up, there is a weird "flashing" of the screen in multiple colors.
PLEASE...for God's sake...with all the great inds on here, someone help me!
Please email me @ [email protected] or call/txt me on my GV # 401-213-9555 I will PayPal or Wire someone a "service charge" for their assistance!
Thank you & I hope i did not break any rules on here by asking.
You need to find a stock Verizon firmware and flash through Odin
I just did a brief search and found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=855415
But I'd ultimately recommend flashing this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941749
And you may need to flash this to get to a stage where you have a working recovery image: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941781
Hope this helps

Thank you very much! I will attempt that. I seem to be stuck in DL mode though.
I was downloading in Odin and the Tab has been stuck at 95% for the past 30mins.
Should I power off or is it a sure fire way to brick it?

Assuming there are no bootloaders being flashed you can't really make it un-recoverable. What exactly were you flashing?

Any idea why it keeps getting hung up right about 99%?
hi
hi friend
i had simmilar problems in past.
Maybe you have problems with the usb ports of your machine.
If you have amd/sis/via for usb chipset at your computer try to do the procedure with another machine with intel chipset.
I hope this helps you

Hey guys.
I have been doing a lot of researches before creating this new thread.
Here is my problem with a Samsung Galaxy s3 I9300T (Australia - Vodafone build). I was given the phone, since it was stuck in a boot loop after a software update issue with Kies (I think from memory 4.2 or something).
The phone boots up, displays the Vodafone logo, and is stuck on the Samsung logo. The phone doesn't restart but stays idle there.
It is impossible to reach the download mode with the use of the 3 buttons, but a USB JIB I bought on ebay does the trick.
Odin recognizes the phone, I can flash a stock Kernel from Samsmobile or root/install the CWM.
BUT, there is no way (so far?) to reach the recovery mode.
I tried to flash a new boot loader, tried to check any physical issue with the buttons, but nothing seems wrong.
I have been looking for tools such a android toolbox/toolkit etc, in the hope one would be able to wipe/flash the nand or even unbrick or whatsoever, from a download mode and not ADB, since I there no fast boot available.
I am ready to try anything, since there's nothing to loose here.
I'm running windows 7 from Parallel desktop.
Thanks mates.

How can I perform what you call a "full system reinstall comprehensive of PIT image"?
I have stock firmware, but no PIT file or CSC or whatsoever.
what do you mean by losing EFS? (encryption ??)
Any help is much appreciated.

efs is a system partition wich contains your phone's hardware serial numbers, such as imei, wi-fi mac ecc... losing this means you can't connect to phone network until you restore it(i'm not sure you lose it)
i found this guide here on the forum to restore from brick's or similiar, i think you can try this if normal flashing don't work:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/solved-pit-bricked-dead-problem-gt-t2535367
When you flash full firmware from Samsung (.tar.md5), it includes things such as bootloader, tz, modem, system, cache, preload and the recovery. Just make sure to download it from site such as sammobile, and you can check yourself if your .tar.md5 you're about to flash includes these things using i.e. 7zip.
Untick "auto reboot" option and flash it. After it's done, it won't auto reboot but Odin will change text to "RESET!", this is a signal for you that it's finished.
Hold on Vol-Up+Home+Power for about 7 seconds, until you see Samsung Galaxy S3 logo. It MUST enter stock recovery you've just flashed, unless your hardware is broken. From there you can select Wipe data / factory reset.
Good luck.

Yes this is what I did.
But after "RESET" doing it, holding the buttons won't let me reach the recovery.
Is there a way to access it ? like for instance a USB JIG allowed me to access the DOWNLOAD mode; whereas holding the buttons never let me.

I still do not understand that NO software is able to address the phone, like the recovery mode does.
We can flash from a computer, how come not to wipe from a computer.
assuming that someone has no screen or broken buttons, i'm sure there's a way to access wipe and/or access the recovery to flash a stock rom.
Thanks

Hey, yes I tried the link, but again I cannot access the recovery to flash the .zip file.
When I hold the buttons as soon as the logo "galaxy s III GTI9300" appears, the screen goes black and the logo comes back again.
If I release one button, the vodafone splash screen appears, and the boot is stuck on the samsung logo.
I assume, the buttons are working because of what I just explained.
But again, I cannot access the recovery.
Last week, for some reason, after flashing I has a "setup wizard" from appeared, and crashed. that was the only time. I could see the lights under the touch buttons coming on. After the crash, I tried to reinstall and couldn't do it.
I am still sure there should be a way to wipe the nand completely or install from the SD card via the download mode.
Any help is welcome

I get same thing(galaxy s3 logo, black screen then normal boot when try accessing recovery) some time ago after installing philz reco, i flashed another recovery and now runs well, it sounds so strange that you still cant get at least stock recovery after a repartition and a full system reinstall... Maybe something get broke in the hardware...
I need help and have no idea where to go. My phone restarted randomly like it usually does but It got stuck on this screen
http://forums.androidcentral.com/at...says-no-command-photo-27-04-2014-23-39-34.png
Sadly I had no backup for the device and am wondering if it's bricked. I can access the phone when I hold the power/ down volume/home button from time to time. I formatted the device hoping it would fix the issue. I managed to set up the device but I have to hold those specific buttons for it to work. Here are the device specs. I don't know what to do. I tried factory resetting it but with no luck. Every time i turn on the device I have to use that button order. I just have no idea what to do. I installed a stock rom via odin using this tutorial.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeYwhL1iS6k
Device: Samsung Galaxy s4 SGH-I337
Android : 4.4.4 kit kat
Edit: I have to hold volume down/home button/ power to turn it on which is quite annoying. I've never had this issue before. Is there a way to completely restore it to factory without having to do all this stuff? I tried doing it via recovery mode and in the phone itself. I get this screen https://cdn-images.xda-developers.com/direct/3/0/1/9/2/9/4/20120813002112.jpg
Which I usually get but then it goes straight to the odd recovery mode screen and not to the phone.
I found out something huge that might help! My volume up key isn't working so I'm assuming it's booting it straight into recovery mode for that reason. I read on a few sites saying I need the device repaired! I'm almost 100% sure thats the issue but correct me if im wrong. The volume up wont work at all.

The youtube video you mentioned was about how to root the i337. The video did not mentioned anything about stock rom installation via odin.
The video shows to install the nc1 kernel, then use the towel root to root and then install the NJ4 kernel back to work with system.
It appears that your system messed-up in installing the kernel.
You need to install the full firmware via odin. There is only one full firmware available for kit-kat. It is NB1 firmware with NC1 kernel cooked by muniz_ri. You can download the firmware from here.
Unrar the firmware and you will get .md5 file. Put your phone to download mode, load the .md5 file to AP slot of the odin and flash it.
If you have problem in flashing odin show the screen shot of odin error.
Once your phone is running fine, you can use towel root to root the phone. If you want to upgrade to NJ4 I will show you the direction then.
i have read through these forums for weeks and followed steps perfect but no version of Odin will succeed in doing a factory rom flash. i had the s4 rooted and uninstalled the touchwiz not realizing it was the launcher required to boot phone. since this happened i cant do a factory reset and odin will not work. in fact last time i tried odin it put my phone in a bootloop where as soon as i put the battery in it boots and continues to reboot. this phone has a locked bootloader and come stock with 4.4.2 i dont want to post a really long post with a bunch of info thats probably not needed so if more info is needed please ask. thanks in advance
If the phone constantly auto-reboots, then your power button is malfunctioning.
As for the other cases, use a different PC, Windows and/or USB ports. A cable switch is advisable too. And make sure you have the right firmware for the phone.
Any of those factors can make a change.
Also, unless it's a Verizon or AT&T phone, there's absolutely no possible way that thing has a locked bootloader.
I have a bootloop on the Samsung first logo with "Recovery Booting..." in blue on the top left (Samsung GT-I95026)
I have flash TWRP recovery, the phone don't want to boot on recovery, it's just bootlooping, flashed stock firmware with Kies, still bootloop, Odin, same thing
So after searching everywhere can't seem to find anything that can help, I assume it's dead then?..

Is there any way to unlock bootloader in ODIN? I have I9506 with 4.4.2 that was on it at first. Then i have updated it to 5.0.1 in OTA. So you say that I need to flash it in ODIN with 4.4.2 to make it work?
None of the Galaxy s4 phones have a locked bootloader except for the AT&T, Sprint, Verizon versions.
GT-I9506
S/N: RF8F20W841T
PDA: PL2 / PHONE: OJ2 / CSC: OK1 (NEE)
CAN'T BOOT IN TO THE SYSTEM (no matter what I can't make it to boot properly)
CAN'T ENTER RECOVERY (it's showing that's booting in to the recovery but instead of recovery it just restart)
CAN ENTER DOWNLOAD MODE (no problem with entering DM)
What I have done so far:
- Kies recovery with phone model number and serial number (still bootloop).
- Odin flashing STOCK rom from SamFirm download (still bootloop) (single and 4 files flash).
- Re-partitioning (flashing PIT file).
- Reflashing bootloder (still nothing).
- Tryed CWM, TWRP and other Recovery, non of them boot up.
Using those files to flash:

I would really appreciate help from someone more skilled then me.
We bought the tablet off the samsung site for Christmas. My daughter tried to do the most recent update and it's been soft bricked ever since. I used to do a lot of roms around the time of the Nexus 4 and before but haven't done anything in a long time.
Held Vol Down and Power and got to the boot menu where it asked if I really wanted into the bootloader. I tried no to get it to just restart but it was still soft bricked. I tried yes to see if it'd give a factory reset option but it took me to what I think was Odin? It seems I just need whatever factory image and a quick how-to load it and it should work again. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? What do I need to know to get the right factory image and where can I find it? How do I get it reloaded? That sort of stuff. Thank you all!

The first thing you need to know is that Tab A is a very generic term that covers a lot of entirely different tablets. Before anyone can give you any help, you need to specify the model number. The SM-xxxx number, such as SM-T580.
I looked in the bootloader and it gives the model as SM-T380.

Go to sammobile.com from a PC and click samsung firmware. Put SM-T380 in the my model number box and click the search button. Next select the country. If it is USA then "Cellular South" is what you want. Download the file. Next go to Samsung's site and download and install the USB drivers for Windows. Then google "Odin" and download and install the app. Odin is the Windows app for installing the file you downloaded from Sammobile.
Power on the tablet by holding the Home Vol down and Power buttons. When the green screen appears, release the buttons and the press Vol up. This should put the tablet in download mode. Start Odin and then connect the tablet to the PC with a USB cable. Extract the files from the tar file you downloaded from Sammobile. In Odin, select the AP and BP files and then click Start. Let it do its thing and when it finishes, the tablet should reboot.
Thank you, I'll give it a try tonight!
