ok may be a bit dull , but how do i install this
Ensure correct USB drivers are installed on your computer, then simply run the exe.
Sorry to sound stupid, but I'm already running this 1.84 thru Oranges ota. So not rooted. Can I use the above exe to stay with 1.84 but will now be rooted? Then play till my hearts content Or do I still have to do all that other complicated stuff to root my phone?
And what usb drivers do I need for win7 64?
Thanks
Mick

Firstly how did you delete your rom?
Secondly can you get into bootloader? ie volume down and start.
If you can get into bootloader when cable is connected to PC is it showing serial or USB, if its showing USB just flash another rom over it.
No actually before we start what are your phone details ie is it stock rom/hspl or anything, radio etc

You did BINFS format? just do as 11calcal said so you can load in to the bootloader and when you see USB allocated on the bottom white screen just flash the rom image you want. Now if you see nothing then you forgot to press the volume down button. So just the the battery out and do what 11calcal said.
thanx for ur help
i deleted with task29 and the rom
it is showing bootloader , and when i connect it even it showing USB,

No its asking if you want to update click on yes and it will start loading the new rom, which task 29 did you use because you may need to flash a radio after aswell as some task 29's clear the radio aswell. In future use flashaholic ruu on rom dev and you wont need to update your radio. Hope that helps

Your going to have to hspl it. Go to rom development section and read up on" how to flash everything " you will need to download hspl 2 or 3 its very easy to do, read thoroughly twice and then find a radio 2.*.50.* put the radio in a blank folder along with ruu then click on ruu and it will install the radio, move the radii out of the file so that it just has the ruu on it and then copy the rom nbh to the same file as ruu and then click the ruu and the rom will load. Just read the posts carefully and you'll be ok as long as you follow instructions. Once you've done it its not so scary

I have flashed my phone over and over trying to get Puzzle Rom to work properly. Finally got it all working and upto now really happy with it although......
I would like to be able to flash it with the stock rom so that when Froyo comes out I can let it update to that. I would also like to have the 3 network software back on it as I liked being able to have live messenger etc and my3 so that I can check my usage.
I downloaded the rom from shipped roms but it is a RUU file and I don't know how to put it on, can anyone help??

Sorry, I presumed you had already created a goldcard. See this for all the instructions on creating a goldcard (do this before flashing) and how to flash:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741651
A goldcard makes it so that you don't get that error.
hi everyone, first of all happy new year..
I have bought a Wildfire for my brother, I have tried to Root the phone by using the instructions on this website but I couldnt manage to root it...

1---- install htc sync from this web link
http://www.htc.com/hk-en/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=982&news_id=712
go to bottom of the page and download
2--- install htc sync once installed restart computer/laptop once restarted connect phone
and go to device manager on ur pc ( start- search- device manager ) and at the top u should see android and underneeth it will say my htc if u see this on device manager u have the wildfire driver installed.
3-- uninstall the htc sync dont worry the driver will stay installed on ur pc
4--- once u have uninstalled go to ur wildfire go to setting-applications - development and tick udb debbugging
5-- connect phone to pc and run unrevoked and it should work perfect.
this is the way i had to do it took me a few days to figure it out but this will do the trick

Have you installed the HBOOT USB Driver before you use unrevoked3?
Uninstall HTC Sync (Important)
Download driver and extract it.
You need to turn your phone into HBOOT (Hold power button)
Connect it with a computer with USB cable
Go to device manager, select 'Android 1.0'
Right-click, select update driver
Select the driver route to the place you've extracted the driver (e.g. D:\Wildfiredriver\)
Launch reflash package after done.

Hi,
I downgraded my htc desire hd and attempted to root through visionary+ tool…i did the following
Downgraded to official firmware PD98IMG.zip
All was working fine
I installed visionary+ and temp rooted
i then attempted to perm rooted, my phone restarted and then got stuck at the htc logo screen….
I have tried reflasing the official firmware but it keeps getting stuck on the htc logo screen. Any help? Thanks
Can you boot directly to the bootloader? Vol down + Power.
Yep i can get there, however when i click recovery from there it goes straight to the htc logo screen..and if i place the rom on the sd card it flashes the phone but when it reboots it gets stuck once again
In that case download the 1.32.~ RUU.exe and run that.
Hi, I am new to rooting and have only got as far as downgrading my firmware...what do you mean by download the 1.32 ruu.exe? Sorry
If you click the link in my sig and head to RUU's, you'll find 1.32.405.6 download that and run the exe. It will reflash your phone for you, just follow the prompts.
What state does my phone need to be in before running the exe? Also currently my laptop running windows 7 does not recognise my phone, i have htc sync 3.0 installed but it still doesnt recognise it....
Switched on is enough for the exe. You need to have the correct drivers for it to work.
Is your windows 7 machine 64bit?
No i am not using windows 7 64bit...i was able to connect to my desire hd via htc sync before all these issues however
Ok, I'm running out of idea's. I don't think the .exe will work until you handset is on.
Do you have the Android SDK installed on your machine?
Hi yes i have it installed...i think it is looking for android 1.0 driver but it cant find it and i cant find it on there internet...
Mine also does that whilst in the bootloader, once I'm in fastboot I'm ok.
Do you still have ENG S-OFF?
I got it to connect....i am now running the ruu....will update when it is done. Thank you so much for your help so far...
I just ran the ruu...i think it is stuck at the htc logo screen once again..its been there for about 10mins???
That's not good. I'm guessing that the PD98IMG.zip nuked your S-OFF?
Accoring to the bootloader menu it says s-on...
Ok, not sure how to progress here. Your DHD has a fault somewhere, as the PD98IMG.zip should work without any problems. Kinda like a fail-safe.
Other than contacting your network/HTC for a repair which should happen (S-ON etc...) you could try the latest Gingerbread RUU. You just have to extract the ROM.zip first (that's very easy).
Just to make sure...
i downloaded the ruu from you sig...
connected my desire hd
ran the ruu
it finished and my phone was flashed
is that right?
Is the latst gingerbread ruu for the desire hd on your site?
Yeah its on there. I'd recommend getting a repair over flashing it though.
I don't meet your problem, but I just did it yesterday with a golden card, so if you don't know what to do maybe you can try that.
