Any word on when this will come to the N1?
The Desire has it today and in my book is the largest plus for the Desire when comparing it to the N1. I could care less about Sense UI, actually.
Edit: Actually the Desire doesn't have it, so I am just foaming at the mouth, it seems. Still, it would be a nice update.

Not the solution I am looking for. As it is in alpha that's not a good day to day ROM, even according to the developer. It introduces bugs I am not willing to live with (blue tooth, camera, etc) and like I said, I really don't want the Sense UI. Maybe once the ROM is fully functional and past the alpha stage I'll give it a try if I can disable Sense and still get what I want.
I think the solution for the N1 involves a kernel update and is not something Adobe can just "release". The Nexus One was supposed to be getting updates faster than anyone else (since they are coming from the Android source itself - Google) but in this case, that's clearly not so.
So my original question remains - does anyone know anything about when the N1 will get an update including Adobe Flash Lite?

Really? Where is that coming from and why the long delay?
I think I'd read it somewhere.

I think here, the release is dependent more so on adobe, and not on google, seeing as they are the developers.

It doesn't appear that way, since HTC has released it on the Desire. It looks like Google is dragging it's feet on an N1 update. Are you suggesting that HTC has some exclusive agreement with Adobe? That would be a first.
Does the Desire even have Flash 10.1? I thought it had HTC's flash lite 4.0, and we were all still waiting for 10.1? Please correct me if I am wrong, but running the shipping version of Desire on my N1, and I am not experiencing flash 10.1... I am experiencing flash lite 4.0, though.

Correct.
The OP's "Adobe Flash Lite 10.1" makes no sense.
There is Flash Lite 4
And Flash 10.1
No combination of the two.

Oh really? Since you haven't tried it, how would you know?
I've been using the Desire ROM for about 6 weeks now, and plenty of others have been as well.
Don't knock it just because YOU haven't tried it.

I stand corrected about the Desire having Flash 10.1. Evidently, it is Adobe holding things up.

I am going on what was posted by Paulobrien regarding the rom - that it is alpha, and that there are issues with Bluetooth and camera implentation.
paulobrien said:
Known Issues
Bluetooth does not work reliably
FM Radio finds stations but does not produce any sound
Footprints camera view is rotated 90 degrees
SMS over 160 characters are not sending successfully - urgently investigating!

If the Desire doesn't have Flash 10.1, then what functionality am I gaining in exchange for reliable bluetooth and a properly functioning camera?
If these items have been corrected, then perhaps post #2 of the Desire rom threads need to be updated.
Will the EVO 4G hardware be close enough to the HD2 for it to help the Android on HTC project to put Android on the HD2? Any thoughts?

An interesting concept, there are those that are asking if Windows Phone7 is going to work with the HTC HD2 as well. Be nice if we could choose either. The HD2 is a lovely piece of kit.
when is the evo actually out? nobody got a whiff of a leaked rom?
got an hd2 myself, would love to get android

Joke you did get, much funny it was.
Complete my goal is
May the force be with you
I'm not so sure about this....
With the Evo not coming to UK waters and no other screen size planned this side of the pond the ROM on the HD2 may well be the only answer.
However, lets not forget.. the Evo has a lot inside which will be different to the HD2 and these short comings won't make the HD2 an Evo in disguise.
It may end up being a sheep in wolf's clothing.
I don't think you'll see it because of driver issues but if enough people want it anything is possible.

Heres my 2 cents. If they already managed to port android for iphone then hell yeah its gonna happen. who would have thought that the iphone was gonna get android.

Tell that to Winterboard and AndroidLock. But yes, theming isn't supported natively.
However the iPhone port of Android is an actual native port, loaded using OpeniBoot, a custom "iBoot"-style bootloader. And you thought the HTCSPL system was tricky...

Belated, but May the Fourth be with you.
I find it quite unlikely. Developers are still trying to get Android EMULATED, not installed, on the Touch Pro, and that version still suffers from poor battery life and frequent errors.
You can't just drag and drop ROMS from completely different operating systems onto different phones; otherwise, all phones would be sold without an OS installed.
The two phones may be similar in regards to features, but the insides are completely different. For example, the Evo has a maXTouch sensor, while the HD2 does not. So, while you may be able to get Android emulated on the HD2, it doesn't look like it's going to be very possible to transform it into an Evo by giving it the latter's ROM.

Since i've got android on my Sprint Vogue, i'd say it's possible if the right people want it to happen.
Are there any other devices similar to the software of HTC Aria , I've been looking for more roms that could work with it
Legend should be fairly similar, I know there has been some kernal-sharing going on although I don't know the exact details.

There are some big differences, too. The Aria uses a different chipset for wifi and bluetooth than the Legend. The Aria does not have a camera flash - the legend does.
Great news for me at least as it seems that WP7 on the HD2 is alive and well. Here is a video showing it booting up fairly similar to how we boot up android. It has not been released yet but from the new on this website it is not far off. I assure you it is all very legit and will be here soon. I used google chrome to visit these sites as it auto translates so let the actual countdown begin. this is exciting for me at least as I think HD2 was and still is the best mobile HTC ever made. this thing runs Android, WM6.5 and WP7!

Yead and they it will be available by end of the next week... in our dreams of course...
SO when ?!
So when finally we can use one of these WP7 ?!?
it is taking much more than I expected !
yeah it seems to be working, but seems also quite slow/sluggish compared to, say, the hd7. maybe it's due to the boot from sd
howcome in the video the IE tile has nice graphics while on all other phones i've seen its flat like all other tiles...?
well i am just happy it still alive and well. it does seem a bit sluggish but it is out there and will be available soon. it boots off microsd like android so there will be flaws. like android however it will work well. seeing that the htc hd7 had a microsd as its internal memory( pictures on the web to confirm) we should be very optimistic to have this running near perfect on HD2

old build
this looks like an old build that's running on the HD2. that's why the IE icon looks different and also that's why it's slower. the newer builds have performance improvements. let's hope they get the final build running on it too.
also, did you notice the other phone in the video (Mozart) had AT&T branding on the hardware, but Telus branding on the software

what would that mean? how different are these prototypes hardwarewise? if it can run on one of these, does that mean it can run on retail units?

Sure they'll get it sorted to go to the masses (us) now if they could only find a way of getting it to run from phone and not MicroSD we really would be laughing .
An Arsenal fan living in Liverpool bet you didn't know if to laugh or cry today hey .
The Pool did us a massive favour today good on 'em .
