Hi!!!
I've got HTC Wildfire with Froyo 2.2 not rooted an HBOOT-1.01.0001 S-ON
Hipotetically:
If will download CyanogenMod 7 Update from here http://mirror.cyanogenmod.com/get/update-cm-7.0.0-RC4-buzz-signed.zip
or any other version of CyanogenMod
rename it as update.zip on my sdcard
get in to RECOVERY and choose the option Apply sdcard:update.zip
like on the attached screen
will it work to flash and root my Wildfire or just simply will brick it?

Using stock recovery will not flash cm7 or any other custom rom because simply you cant root the device with hboot 1.01.0001 , Froyo 2.2
You have the OTA update, nothing you can do for now unless Unrevoked supports HBOOT 1.01.0001 (which doesn't atm)
OK
I get it. But it simply asks for update.zip file... Does the RECOVERY check any signatures of the file or size before update?
I'm not only asking for rooting.I'd like at least flash any rom containig polish locales because WWE does not have it. I've tried RUU but I'm getting WRONG CLIENT ID error. If I've extracted rom.zip from RUU would it work to flash it this way?
the only way to flash a custom rom is with the HBOOT S-OFF. all that needs to be said.
Yes. I know. I was asking about flashing zip file extracted from shipped RUU but containig for example polish or chinese language and locales. I'am aware of S-ON limitations for rooting and I'm trying to return to polish firmware to sell my Wildfire and buy other one which I'll be able to root.

Signatures are always checked with stock recovery - no way to disable - as BarclayTech said no way for a custom rom.
Check link below and find a corresponding RUU to flash:
http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Buzz
Yeah! But which one contains polish locales. I've checked all WWE RUUs and nothing. Are there any descriptions of those RUUs from this site cause this is useless to flash and check all of them.

Just find the RUU with the same Android version and same Radio version that came preinstalled with your device.
Keep in mind that if your WF came with Eclair (Android 2.1) and you manually upgraded to Froyo (Android 2.2) OTA then follow link below to downgrade (HBOOT will not be overwritten)
I haven't tested this and nobody takes responsibility if your phone explodes

Hi Guys, I was given a STC (Saudi Arabia's Mobile Company) Magic. I've been reading lots of threads in this subforum, to no avail. This is what I've got:
View attachment 283171
Also the version of my ROM is 2.56.415.5.
Any new ideas of what to do? I'm sorry for the newbie question, but I'm stuck and can't get the root access even though I've read a lot.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
JamworkS.

I've tried all that and then went to Cyanogen's MOD Wiki and downloaded DRC83_base_defanged.zip and applied "Any zip" from Custom Recovery and stays there forever.
Just in case you ask, I wiped before I install the OS.
Any ideas?
Kind regards,
JamworkS.

you have to apply the "DRC83_base_defanged.zip" then the rom itself "update-cm-4.2.14.1-signed.zip" then the 32a port "bc-4.2.14.1-ebi1-signed.zip"
At the end I install this [ROM][32A][Nov07] MyHero 2.0.5 with Official SenceUI on HTC Kernel 2.6.27.
I found it in this forum an it worked perfectly.
Kind regards,
JamworkS.

Thank you very much. What I don't understand is why I have to flash all that while on the myHero ROM I only flashed the actual ROM.

because your device is 32a and if a rom is originally made for 32b you must apply the 32a port over it,in order to work on your 32a device.

Hay JamworkS,
Can you please explain the steps and put the download link?
Also do you still have arabic keyboard and fonts in the system.
Please we need this desperately. I got an htc magic from stc and i was surprised that it doesn't have the android market. We need to unlock this and have the full android experience.
Waiting you feedback!
Hello, all I did was download with another phone an application called FlashRec, also known as Recovery Flasher.
I installed it in the Magic, and then also downloaded the Recovery image for the Magic 32A. In the program there's a button that says "download from internet" if you hace Wifi or 3G. I just flashed it, and then afterwards searched this forum for that ROM, downloaded it, put the .zip in the SD card, booted in Recovery mode (Powering up the phone holding both power and the home buttons for about a minute).
When inside Recovery, it just went to flash any zip file from SD, pressed de Ball to confirm, I looked for the zip with the ROM, pressed the ball again, it asked me to confirm by pressing the home button, and voilá.
I recommend you to do a wipe before installing the ROM, at least that's what I did.
Kind regards,
JamworkS.

Thank you but it would be a lot better if you could post it here for someone else to discover.
Thank you .
Install Recovery Flasher and use it to flash Amon_Ra's recovery for the 32A (the one with the H in the name). Put a ROM you want for the old radio (3.22.*) on the SD card and flash it from recovery. That should be it. Don't forget to make a nandroid backup and wipe before flashing the new ROM
Should you want to use a ROM for the new radio (6.35) you can follow the guides in this forum.

hi,
do you have any suggestions how to get rid of Vodafone welcome screen when booting my desire Z?
This is my first android, so I'm totally not sure, with WM 6.5, it was easy, getting hold of new stock HTC rom or cooked rom like energy, flashing it on the phone and job done.
Is there any place where I can get hold of stock HTC sense rom for desire Z?
like shipped-roms.com/shipped/Vision
I'm bit concerned, because it says T-Mobile US...
any help and suggestions are appreciated.
thanks
There are splash screen images in the zip files for the ROMs, so I presume that you can replace them easily. I don't know the correct procedure, but if you flash as complete ROM then I imagine that'll do the job.
Talking of complete ROMs, the standard European ROM is on this forum, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822908 . That's an RUU, but you can run it and then extract the zip file and flash that directly if you want.
However, you need to be careful about ROM versions if you have S-OFF. If you don't have S-OFF, then it won't let you flash an earlier ROM normally, so you need to follow the "debranding" guide (not very well-named IMHO) to flash an earlier ROM. If you do have S-OFF then you must follow the debranding guide, because if you try to flash an earlier ROM from HBOOT and have S-OFF you will probably brick your phone.
If you're flashing a later ROM version then everything should be fine.
I've managed to flash the ROM from the link you provided on my Z using the gold card method.
wonderful. so much better without the Vodafone logo. Thanks a lot.
Hi,
I noticed that Brazilian HTC Magic support page have a rom update for 2.1
http://www.htc.com/br/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=272&cat=2&dl_id=1065
this update is not as RUU but as a ZIP file, any rom moders can check this? Is this rom better than the one that already exists for Rogers HTC Magic? The update is dated from 2010-12-13
I have download it.Use winrar to zip it.I think, can just use recovery update boot.img,radio.img,system.img,so do not lost my root.
just put this in the SD card, turn on the magic with "volume" pressed and follow the steps. The rom is great, fast and stable, no problem untill now.
sorry for my bad english.
what devices this rom support? only brazilian htc?
Should work on any 32A. Upgrade to the new radio/spl using the radioswitcher and flash the system, boot and userdata images from fastboot. Or wait for someone to build a ROM based on this, but since it's the same main version as the Rogers one I'd doubt someone will.
Is this rom multilangual??
then i will flash this one an i have warranty, because it is a offical htc rom. so i can say the support, i've download it form your page

As title , How can I downgrade my HTC wildfire from Froyo ro Eclair so that I can root it. I tried to google it and what I get it methods for HTC legend and Desire.
Is there any method for Wildfire to downgrade ? Or method for desire is work on wildfire too ?
The methods stated for other devices dont work for the Wildfire. Other members have been trying various methods this, and, you can read about it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=914574
So none of them work ? Sob max.. I shud not upgrade to 2.2 Froyo before researches... anyway.. Thanks..

Good one, Alex!
Guys i think i found a way that we can downgrade our wildfires to 2.1.. The only think that we need to do is get both official RUU files extract them, than find the hboot.. Than we can copy the old hboot to the 2.2 RUU and pack(Compile)it again as a exe file and procide with the procedure. Im sure this will work because it worked on winmobile. The only thing that i need help is someone who can find the hboot, because the files the RUU contains are linux files and i have a lil knowledge of them...

Downgrade to 2.1 already works. Look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=921752
However, this is pointless (Unless you desperately need Eclair) because HBOOT downgrade doesnt work. I am sure the method you have stated has been applied, if you go through the thread.
I Just downloaded the Radio Switcher Tool(htt://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=677045) and I am now focusing on installing the Ginger yoshi ROM on mt HTC Magic which i Rooted earlier today with Amon_Ra.
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A ENG S-OFF H
HBOOT-1.76.2007 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-6.35.08.29
Thats how it looks when i enter the fastboot mode. I got it all backed up, and with the RadioSwitcher i can easily change the SPL and Radio so it matches what the Ginger Yoshi requires.
My question is: if i change the SPL and Radio so that it matches Ginger Yoshi requirements, first of all what files are important for me to download from
http://www.mediafire.com/?cabub1g3y37gj
in order to "install" this ROM. And how do i do it once i know which files to download.
Thanks a lot, i am as you can see all new to this.

Once you have the new radio and SPL installed:
1) Wipe your phone (a variety of ways to do this)
2) Copy the "ginger yoshi 1.0 RC5.2.zip" and "32a kernel.zip" files to your phone
3) Flash/install the ginger yoshi zip file in Recovery mode (first).
4) Flash/install the 32a kernel file to your phone in Recovery mode (second).
5) Reboot!
That should do it!
32b, 2.2.1 vodafone update
hello,
i have the official 2.2.1 (hboot: 1.33.0013, radio: 2.22.28.25), i cant flash rc6 before i did not downgrade to 1.5 in cause of following, wright?
"Note: The new OTA 2.2.1 update is going to restore original recovery after each boot, and will delete the custom one. (This happened to me) I tried flashing ROM before it was deleted and got Boot loops, no matter what ROM I used." "What helped me was flashing Android 1.5, then updating it to 1.6, and from there installing custom ROM." http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10532992&postcount=1
do i have to create a goldcard after it?

Your radio and SPL are fine to run Yoshi's, just read through the first post in his ROM and it'll tell you that. Don't change your radio/SPL unless you absolutely have to so that you don't end up coming back here asking for help because you bricked your phone. No offense, but it's better left alone.

I'm not sure if you need to flash the kernel. I want to say I didn't need it with the 2825 radio. The kernel built into the ROM should work with it.
