Fastboot info.. ALL OF IT.
But don't flash ANYTHING...
if you do, you may brick your device... just stay as you are and provide full fastboot info.

Yea mine is similar can you help me too. Mine goes boot looping and some how I got stuck with the original recovery image for the mtg3. I figureed I'd update using bootloader the sappimg.nbh file to go back stock and start over with everything. I've done this many times and it has always worked. But not this time. Thought it could be the hboot and radio. Tryed to update but it aborted.idk why.. here my info :

Make sure the filename isn't sappimg.zip.zip (Deselect the "Hide known file extensions option in Folder View), if not then try formatting the SD card and moving the file over again. Also, make sure your not downloading the file directly to the SD card.

This is what you need to do. If you downloaded the sappimg using your phone, I would suggest re-downloading using the computer as well.

Hi there fellas,
I really tried my hardest to follow the posted guides, and i feel like i followed them to a tee, but i'm still getting the "Model ID incorrect!" message in fastboot
Here's my phone:
PVT - 32A
HBOOT - 1.33.0013
CPLD - 13
RADIO - 2.22.28.25
It's running Android 2.2.1
I basically followed Unlockr/DonJuan's guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734617
I redid the whole goldcard making process at least 5 times with same results.
Is there something i'm missing?
This is the SD card i'm using:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211270
I'll see if i can get my hands on a different one tomorrow, but besides that is there any other advice you can give me?
Thanks in advance guys
I already tried "Universal Androot", "z4root", and "superoneclick". It's a Perfect SLP so i think that's what's causing all the trouble
Use superoneclick root. Simple and quick

I tried the superoneclick too, and that failed as well. It's a Perfect SLP so i think that's what causing all this trouble
The spl shouldn't matter. On your phone your only choice is the spl you have. Superoneclick worked for me on that kind of phone.. Do you have the sdk installed?

He's on the 2.2.1 update, which means SuperOneClick is probably failing, saying "No space left on device." You can easily manually use the exploit from SuperOneClick to root. If that's not the error your getting, let me know what the error you ARE getting is and we'll work it out.
I'm not sure where exactly it displays the error message, because i don't see one.
It says "All root files have been installed! Would you like to run a test", and once i do that all it says is Test failed! FAILED
I did install the SDK back when i had my G1 so maybe that's messing it up. But i think it should still be in order because i was able to install apps using adb onto my MyTouch
Any luck yet? Did you try restarting the phone after rooting it?

Try Universal Androot. You can find out on the forums here somewhere. Way easier.

I have stored my g2 to stock, removed clockworks mod, and unrooted. However, i still have visionary on it. when i boot up the phone while holding down and power it comes up. its not in the list of applications i have. Any help would be appreciated.
here what the screen reads:
VISION PVT SHIP S - OFF
HBOOT - 0.82.0000
MICROP-0425
RADIO 26.03.02.26_M
eMMC-BOOT
SEPT 2 2010, 17:59:38
"VISION" on the HBoot screen does not refer to the Visionary rooting app. It refers to HTC's codename for the phone "Vision" (known to most as the G2/Desire Z).
And I believe that for your phone to be completely unrooted, where it says S-OFF, you need it to say S-ON.
Sent from R2's G2 using XDA Premium App!
SO, just look for threads that show me how to go back to s-on right?

Take a look in the wiki. I've followed it before and it worked flawlessly.

Apparently as many times as this guy keeps asking the same question over and over again.
I am having horrible reception (1, 2, no bars, no service, emerg call only) and can never get 3G or H signal icons. I am constantly on EDGE. These problems are occurring at places where i usually have great reception. Whats the problem?

If you're rooted, then flash a custom radio. Find the thread in the dev section.

thats up to you to find out each radio works differently in other areas. Im assuming youre on the stock radio, your next best bet would be to try the panache radio. btw, MIUI is a rom not a radio. just flash each radio til you find the right one for you
Is there any way I can just put the zip onto my sd card and flash? Because the radio thread in dev says I need to put it into adb folder, and I have no idea how to use Android sdk...

...lol ok...
the Engineering bootloader, on the MT4G i think is 0.85.2007.
the Engineering bootloader gives you flashing rights, i.e changing the splash screen, radio, recovery image using adb... etc. i'd highly recommend it.
still no luck. are there any roms out there that I can flash that end up changing my radio in the process?

Nope, but learning how to use adb really isn't hard. I'd suggest reading trublue_drew's thread in the dev section called adb for dummies.

I would follow this tutorial if you're still unsure about flashing radios. It's a really simple and easy process, but you have to follow directions TO THE LETTER. Otherwise, you might end up with a fancy, expensive paperweight.
I don't see any guides with 6.17.0001 listed?
Your hboot means your s-off with revolutionary all you have to do is flash a custom recovery and superuser.zip
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Thanks for the reply. Should I try to flash a recovery even when it says S-ON?
It says s-on? If so you have to rerun a RUU to get the hboot back to 2.16 and then use revolutionary.io to unlock and root it again

It's like that because the previous owner didn't rerun the RUU to return it to normal hboot he just flashed the hex edited hboot to get s-on

It really bothers me when lazy people don't follow ALL of my instructions. evo4gnoob is right; that's actually the next step in the process. People seem to think S-ON is enough (it probably is, in most cases), but a true EVOphile will know that 6.17 isn't a "real" (i.e. from HTC) HBOOT version.
Hey guys i got a MT4G that is stuck in bootloop, so I did vol down + power and try to do a factory reset, it just freezes. Than i tried to put in the pd15img and it reads it, ask if i want to update i say yes. Than when its updating the bootloader it freezes again. Is there any other way tof xi this phone?
