So i need a little help. I was playing with the new genocide kernal but i run bonsai 4.0. It kept locking up on me so i reflashed bonsai everything is working fine but my g sensor that control the screen rotation is now somehow broken. It will not rotate or pick up any movement at all. I wiped and reflashed a couple of times and ran the emulator fix but it tells me that it fails every time. Does anyone have any ideas beside a flash back with odin and reflash because i really dont want to have to do that again. Any hep or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm currently running kennethpenns 2.3.4 beta 3 GB rom, and at first the fingerprint sensor worked flawlessly, now it never works. Even after I reboot, the sensor doesnt work.
Not quite sure what thee problem could be. The only mods I've installed are the battery fix and the 1% mod. Anyone else experiencing this problem? I'm considering just doing a fresh install of 2.3.4 using either kennethpenns or cherryblur

I have the same issue. It started happening after I flashed Kholk's kernel which messed up my wifi. Since then, I have tried changing kernels and such, to no avail.
did you do a data restore with titanium?

Yeah, but not a fingerprint data restore though. Only apps. I just did a factory reset and the fingerprint sensor won't even scan when I try to add the security lock now
Did you by any chance flash a new kernel? Faux123's for example

No new kernels at all. Flashed the kennethpenn's 2.3.4 radio, though that was a few weeks before the fingerprint sensor just completely stopped working.
Also, seems like the lock pattern no longer wants to work as well. I just set a pattern lock, fresh install of 2.3.4, and sometimes when I unlock it'll ask for it, and sometimes it won't.
There has to be something wrong here. Maybe it was the enable wake on volume mod? Though thats not installed now on my fresh install of 2.3.4
I really hate double posting, but does anyone have a solution for this? Should I just go to att and get a replacement?
Finger print scan fix
this should fix it. go in and set your pin code. reboot the phone. now go back in and set up your fingerprints.
I had my phone on 1.83 and used the bootloader unlock, root, then a modification to the SQL to get unknown sources avail. I had to use RSD and an sbf for 1.8.3 in order to get the ota to GB to install correctly. after that i factory reset my phone just to be sure. when i was setting it up i had this issue. the above got it working.
Unfortunately that didnt fix it. Whatever the issue is, is deep in the system data because flashing new roms doesnt fix the problem.

Boot into CWM, clear Dalvik, cache, and data.

Unfortunately that didn't fix it either. Cleared cache partition, dalvik, and did a factor reset/wipe of data.

pure stock, after OTA gingerbread my fingerprint reader stopped working entirely as well.
Don't care as I don't use it, but irritating to know, I was actually hoping it would improve performance so I would actualyl start using it.
I had the same issue after installing 2.3.4 and read somewhere that turning off your phone, removing the battery for a couple minutes and putting it back would fix it. It did fix it in my case.

Brilliant! worked perfectly for me too! thanks!
Stock bell 2.2.2 stopped working now..
my fingerprint scanner stopped working...tried to restart, remove batt, change the diff types of lock options...no successs. any suggestions?
Yeah this issue is really annoying. I'd hate to have to go through the whole process of getting a replacement. Its crazy that both the fingerprint sensor won't work, and the pin code lock won't work either.
Bump Bump Bump
This worked for me also. Stock with 2.3.4 OTA update. Set up a pin. Then chose the fingerprint sensor option. Thanks!
I have done everything, including installing CleanGB and calibrating (where it worked until I flashed back to AKOP), and yet I still cannot get rotation to work on my phone!
Im running the newest AKOP ICS and this has been a problem on CM9 too, along with many other roms. Thats why Im here. But for whatever reason, it never works!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Try odining to stock el30, calibrating, downloading GPS status, calibrating with that, rooting, flashing AOKP, and calibrating with gps status again.

I was playing around with installing and setting up CM11 nightly last night and after backing it up, I restored my CM10 daily driver backup. My tilt sensor no longer work at all. Screen will not rotate and in games, it will not respond at all to movement. Any ideas on what to try here?
I tried restoring the CM10 backup again and using apps to recalibrate the sensor (doesn't see any output from it).
I'm going to try restoring the CM11 backup but I doubt it will change anything. Any help is appreciated.

same here
I have a similar problem after installing a flex rom, always in landscape if autorotation is on!, any idea?
have no problem with aosp roms, just with stock/flex roms...
sorry for my english..
Okay, so I wiped everything and installed the stock Kit Kat rom that was posted. once I was booted up on that ROM, I verified that the screen would rotate. Then, I restored my CM10 backup and wiped the cache and now it rotates again. Weird!

Hi
I got a G2 (D802) the other day and so naturally I rooted and installed the latest CM nightly.
I didn't flash any new modems or kernels or anything like that, all I flashed was the ROM, GApps, Xposed binary and SU binary.
I've come across a couple of issues that I'd be really grateful if somebody could help me with!
1) If I use an app that accesses the camera and then exit the app, the camera will no longer work until I perfom a full reboot.
2) Every sensor that shows up in this app is showing readouts of 0 despite me moving the device around, shaking it, waving my hand over it etc. This results in me not being able to use auto-rotation, accidentally hanging up on calls because the screen doesn't turn off, not being able to play games that rely on the accelerometer and many other issues.
I keep seeing posts saying I should flash a different modem but I'm really not sure which one to use! There's about 4 different ones for the D802 and I don't want to brick my new phone by flashing the wrong modem!
All help is really appreciated! Thank you!!
BUMP! help needed!
Just as the title says, after flashing the bootstack, rom and gapps countless times, i still dont have auto rotate or auto brighness. all the sensors seem to be dead except for wifi, gps and mobile network. did anyone else experience this? how did you resolve it??? please help!!
I had the same problem after dirty flashing from 13.1. I did a factory reset and reflashed and all was well.

thanks for the reply. i did a clean flash. didnt work.
i flashed the boostack, rebooted back to recovery, flashed the rom and gapps, wiped cache and rebooted. it boots fine. but then i still dont have auto rotate. seems like the drivers werent installed or something
Obvious questions, but did you check the rotation settings inside the display menu? Also, is Adaptive brightness toggled on?

Check the md5 on your download to make sure it is not bad Install twrp 3.0.4.0 you could also move everything you want to keep to a sdcard so you can do a total wipe. Now install rom and gapps only and check to see how everything works before adding root or apps.

This is an old thread, but I am hoping you found a fix for these issues. I am having the same issue. If you have a solution to share I would greatly appreciate it.

That's a drag. Thanks for the quick response though.
Hello, I also have an issue with the accelerometer (and by consequence the auto rotate function).
I am on full stock Nougat B09 (no root) and the issue was also present on B06.
Rebooting the device solve the issue, and factory reset does not make this bug disappear.
That being said, I think I located the root cause.
The magnetometer seems to be never working, even after a reboot. When an app wants to use the magnetometer (like Google map, or the compass), it make the accelerometer crash....
Anyone else having this issue ?
Does you magnetometer works flawlessly ?
Thanks.
@arachneon,
Hi, you can change it in the tools---compass, and in that compass you can waggle the phone in the way of "8", if all that cannot fixed you can also seek help in the nearby ZTE after sales service repair center. Thanks!
