T-Mobile Uk Roms

Hi all, just got an upgrade this week to the Atrix and thoroughly enjoying it so far. As a poweruser with the HD2 and all the hacks involved like android on nand etc, the first thing I did out of the box was root it.
Now to my point, all the custom roms I'm seeing seem to be for At+t and Bell (is that the right carriers?), and the forum is Atrix 4G. So can I as a UK user use these same roms/radios that are outlined in the development forum?
Any help is appreciated, Thanks in advance.
Greetings. I have the same backround as you . I nearly stayed with my hd2 but i'm glad I didn't. The only gingerbread rom for us is the orange one in the dev forum. I have had no success flashing this yet. Soft bricked 3 times and counting.
There is an international fruit cake in the works rich we will be able to flash from CWM.
So far rooting is fine.
Unlockingbootloader is fine.
flashing Cwm if fine.
I keep meaning to start a t-mob uk thread to collect all the info for us uk tmob users into one place. I will get round to it eventualy if some one doesn't beer me to it.

Hi there.
I am on Orange U.K, and i have successfully flashed this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1169409. Following this guide to flash the ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1167373.
Many international users have flashed this ROM as well but REMEMBER to unlock your bootloader before even considering flashing this ROM.
When unlocking your bootloader, you will notice that you will only have around 300 total RAM but if you flash the hack relevant to your device, you will retain your RAM when you flash to Gingerbread.
Please follow the guide properly and don't skip any step. BTW, if your bootloader is not unlocked, we will probably be getting Gingerbread soon since the SOAK testing is about to begin very soon.
Similar story, i'm on Orange, followed those steps and it's working great. Just had to replace the missing sound files, but apart from that, works a treat.

Now since we have an unlocked bootloader, you can flash any ROM. Just make sure you flash the proper boot.img for your phone. See the fixes section for the pudding thread.

I thought we still had to be careful with the Roms, as some of them contain files that are tied to the kernel version (until the port everything over). For example, the ninja rom, I believe it is crrently tied to AT&T at the moment. I presumed we had to wait for a safe INTL version..
I think we can install and lunch any Rom now. The only limitation for inte. users is Ram issue. Otherwise will work fine.

great, thanks. Maybe I'll try another rom then I'd like one without any MotoBlur stuff on it, although the French 2.3.4 is running very well.

I have Atrix ver 1.7.5, how can i root it and update it to latest build?

Hello Everyone,
I have a motorola atrix which was given to me by my friend in usa as a gift, And it has a software version of 1.7.5 , I want to update my phone, but i cannot find the guide for rooting this version of firmware and updating it. Is this version unique? wherever i search i only get guides for other versions.
And one more thing, I live in nepal, and i am using my sim card, but if i update the phone will it be carrier locked?
Thanks in advance.
Screenshot
Oh, and one more thing, i have taken a picture of the phone screen, I've attached it.
Sorry for the crappy photo.
First off, this should go in the Q&A section. Second there is a Sticky Thread at the top of this section geared toward NOOBs...you should go back and read it, it has all the info you need.
Sorry for posting here. And regarding that N00b guide, i read it all, and from what i know i think the method for rooting different versions of firmware are different right? and there is no mention for the version that i am using. So i just wanted a little guidance.

This method works on all phones:
http://briefmobile.com/motorola-atrix-4g-root
p.s. Your screenshot says you have 2.2.2 ATT Atrix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Meaning you can use pretty much any root method - Gingerbreak, Gladroot, preinstall, and CWM root after you unlock the phone.
The auto unlock/root method works wonderfully on our US devices

HELP please

I want to sell my atrix realy soon and i was worried about a couple of things
My atrix's bootloader is rooted, and i have CM7 installed but i want to restore it to stock settings before i sell it
I was thinking of installing a rom like this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195922 to restore everything, even the recovery imagine
My main concern is that if the buyer tries to update his phone from inside the OS over OTA, will it brick the device? And what do you suggest i should flash/do to return the phone to full stock?(I guess it would be fine to leave the bootloader unlocked, no?)
Thanks
First, this is a question, which belongs in the question and answer section. Second, your bootloader isn't rooted. Its unlocked. Your phone is rooted. Third, this question has been asked and answered so many times I honestly can't remember how many. However, ill give you the simple answer. Go to the development section to the firmware superthread. Download the GINGERBREAD 2.3.4 Sbf and flash it with rsd lite. It will make it appear as if yer bootloader is locked again and will put everything back to stock.

i meant unlocked, not rooted typo, and isn't it risky to do that?
Yes, it is risky to do, even the SBF file for stock GingerBread that includes the pudding unlock has been reported to have hard bricked a few phones (but usually works).
To be safest, I would suggest hitting up the fruit cake thread in the development section, and installing a GingerBread fruit cake. Your phone will still say "unlocked", but it will be running Motorola's Stock GB release.

[Q] Going From Darkside back to STOCK T-Mobile

As the title suggests, i honestly have tried searching etc for my answers. But being a noob i cannot make sense of what to do.
Basically i have a t mobile UK atrix, i unlocked bootloader, flashed CWM and flashed Darksides ROM through the recovery.
I now want to go back to T- Mobile Stock completly were i can safely update officially without hard bricking my device . (if possible remow unlocked bootloader and CWM)
Please in desperate need of help
Once you unlock your bootloader, you can't lock it back -- there's a physical switch in your phone that gets broken once you issue the fastboot oem unlock command. However, you can get back to stock by installing the appropriate "fruit cake" for your phone. Once you have done that, the phone will be able to OTA update, if that's what you want to do. You can find those files in the dev section.
Thank You for your reply, will it also be able to update via motorola update software on pc ?
and do you have any recomendation for which fruit cake i shoudl install for a stock T-Mobile UK Atrix
i really cannot find the Fruit Cake i need to flash for a T-Mobile UK atrix ??? please help
Since Samcripp made the fruit-cake maker app, you could definitely request that someone make it for you. Please don't do that in the dev section, unless you want to get flamed lol.
Iv'e requested in the fruit maker thread, im currently on darkside 4.0 so would it really be so dangeroud to flash it via another method to a stock t mobile rom on 2.3.4? instead of fruitcake
Nope u can flash the 2.3.4 sbf. But nothing prior to that.
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
Like phalantx said you can flash sbf for t-mobile and you will get rid off unlocked in the top left corner. I know it would brick at&t mobile but tmob uk is safe.
edit//
YOU CAN FLASH 2.2.3 SBF even if you got 2.3.4 atm. I did and all worked great. I sent it back for warranty and they accepted ( broken digitizer). I didn't read phalanx post properly.
REMEMBER YOU DOING THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I TAKE NO BLAME FOR BROKEN MOBILE. JUST SHARING MY EXPERIENCE.

Thank you very much for that post i will attemot and get back to you much LOVE
JUST used RSD to flash the only t mobile sbf i could find which was 2.3.3 i believe... I almost died as i my notification light flashed red BUT i booted into stock Recovery and did a factory reset now all is WELL
thank you everyone for your help
Just wandering if i can update to the latest firmware from here now by use of the motorola update centre
Yeah I did a factory reset after sbf as well.

I may have read over the answer to my question already, but why are you going from DarkSide to stock?
and if it is to get the official update, why not just flash one of the new 2.3.6 roms or wait for an updated darkside?

firt rule of xda: post in correct sections!
mod, please shut this thread, and give our friend a manual on how to use this forum!

this is the only working sbf for me right now
DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-231_CEE_ROOTED_No_Signed
in the general section you will find a sticky thread called all-in-one defy beginners guide, you will find all the info you need there.
second rule of xda: search before posting.
you bricked your phone by flashing sbfs without knowing what they really are.
you should check something: does your notification led turn white when connected to rsd lite (pc)?
and dont play around too much, because your battery will die eventually (the device cant be charged without a functional rom/kernel), and you will have to use the mcgyvers method...
just read everything you find in the thread mentioned above.

sorry, its late, misunderstood you.
have you tried switching basebands?
if you want to stay on stock, you will have to figure out which bootloader version you have (dont know the bl versions of stock roms by heart), and have to choose sbfs according to that.
but if youre up for custom roms, try any 2nd-boot rom of quarx, those should work.
but i cant stress this enough: read the beginners guide first!
