So I'm running cm7 #32 and I decided to perform a "Wipe Battery Stats" in recovery (followed instructions here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Troubleshooting#Battery_recalibration). Ever since, my 3G connection has been very flaky .. the 3G and cell signal icons constantly flip between white and green, and signal strength is very jumpy, going suddenly from full bars to no bars. When I do get a full 3G connection, data is VERY slow and mostly unresponsive.
Has anyone experienced this before? I've read a couple of old (non legend) threads describing similar problems after batt wipes, but they don't provided any solutions.
I too have the same problem.
I wiped as per the instructions, and my phone actually got stuck at the white boot screen!
I had to pull battery, and reflash cm7.0.2.1 and savagedzen (w/ the no sbc mod, obviously)
Now the phone seems nothing like it used to, buggy, unresponsive, not fun at all. I'm probably gonna nand and reflash.

hmmm i don't get it:
after doing a successful flash according to virnik0's procedure http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=818556 everything was fine - for a couple of weeks or so..
battery would last for days and days just in standby - then suddenly it started to run down pretty quick - now it lasts not even 24 hours - and that is even without any usage at all - just lying there on my desk - idle..
i have absolutely nothing running - no wireless - no programs running - only the mobile network connection - all other programs stopped..
i even bought a new battery - but same problem - less than 24 hour standby on idle.. not even making 1 telephone call..
i also tried resetting the battery..
would it help to do a complete re-flash?
My first guess would be, that you installed / updated an app which goes crazy now.
You can rule out every app that is preinstalled, from google or commonly used (such as titanium backup) .
You can try to uninstall these apps one by one and see if the drain persists.
If so I'd flash a full ROM without installing additional apps. After that you'll have to wait 2-3charges until the battery indicator is accurate again. If the drain is still there it could be a hardware problem.
I think reflashing will fix the issue but don't hold me to it
good luck

I am having the same issue. My battery after flashing 2.3.3 JVK was fabulous. now it is not even lasting for a complete day with no wifi and 3g.
I guess i did wipe the battery stats , after which i am getting these crazy values. I am going to wipe the battery stats after my phone is fully charged and see if anything happens.
i guess there is a guide somewhere in these forums that we have to complete recharge, do a wipe and completely discharge and do a wipe again. please have a look at Battery issue threads in XDA.
Hey, check this thread, there are some interesting observations.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021711
I don't really believe in wiping the battery stats. They have to be rewritten and that also takes time and gives confusing values in the mean time. Just using the phone normally and always discharging as low as possible while always charging full is my approach.
With JVK it's another story, I think no one knows exactly what causes the drain. it could be the update but I also suspect the gallery, I overwrote the gallery3D.apk with a 2.2.1 version and the drain seemed to disappear. But that's not even a observation, more a feeling since I flashed an restarted several times in the past days since I flashed JVK so I'm more or less just trying a lot at the same time and hope something works
Thank you theduckking - yep did that too - uninstalled all apps not needed but still draining too much - so I am inclined to re-flash..
So you say I can try just reflash ROM - is that also via ODIN? and how do I know which ROM to flash and what it is called?
lycan_codex - yep I did do a battery re-set also in recovery mode - following the procedure from another post - didn't help either
I recommend Odin.
It doesn't really matter which ROM, you could take darky's resurrection edition to have a minimal odin rom.
but flashing a romkitchen (wipe) rom through CWM should also do the job
or you head over to [Ramad]'s thread choose a stock odin firmware (some scrolling required) and flash that.
If you find, that the drain is fixed after installing a minimal rom, you can flash a bigger/fuller ROM over it through CWM and customize it and live happily ever after.
Hello there everyone!
So, first if of all allow me to say I'm a programmer/network administrator so I know things around *nix systems and Java, and right now I'm having a quite boring problem with my Tattoo.
Here's the history:
Got a Tattoo one year ago, v1.6, all going well, suddenly it started rebooting, some months ago, dropping calls and would sometimes loose network. In the meanwhile I used another phone and left the Tattoo alone.
Now I decided to pick it up again and sort things out.
Problems:
Phone sometimes reboots randomly
Phone reboots specially during phone calls
If I select the use 2G Networks Only, the phone restarts some seconds later
What I have tried:
- Changing SIM card
- Flashed latest version from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=939122
- Full wipe as well
- Formatted SD
- Factory Reset
- Cleared Dalvik Cache
Clearing Dalvik Cache allowed me to keep a phone call for more than 30 minutes though.
The weirdest situation is that *every* time I select the Use 2G Only option the phone reboost, some 5 seconds later. Every time.
Any suggestions? Completely lost here.
Shameless bump...
Late, but, I had have same problem when the battery is not calibrated.
I seems to happen when the Tattoo appears to have enough battery, but it not true.
Charging (up to 75%) and calibrating battery works for me.

It's never too late
Can you elaborate? I still have it so I'm willing to give it a go in the next hours and post results...

Charge your battery to 100%, go to your recovery, advanced, wipe battery stats. Then discharge fully and charge 100% again
Great, thanks!!
I'm running rooted stock 4.4.2 and have flashed the factory image from google a couple of times. Also, I recently replaced the battery. This seemed to coincide with the random reboots. These seem to be getting worse and this morning the phone got stuck in a boot loop. I connected it to the charger and it started ok but strangely it lost wallpaper settings and wifi passwords. Not really a major problem but could mean something.
Checking the battery image, it seems to change levels randomly +/- 10% with charging and reboots. Also GSam battery shows the voltage fluctuating below 3.7v. Do I need to condition the battery? If so how as I don't have the original charger/cable.
With the network disconnect, I went on vacation over Christmas and the phone wouldn't connect to the wifi where we stayed (all other devices would). I flashed a couple of different radios with no success. Before we left there was no problem. Now the phone looses connectivity to the cell network back at home. I've reflashed the factory image of 4.4.2 and still had problems. I've downgraded the radio to .48. This seems to help but the phone still loses connectivity occasionally.
Any ideas if this is software or hardware? Could the new battery be faulty? Any help would be appreciated!
I got a weird one for you guys. I had LTE on my nexus 4, but after tethering for awhile, my LED started flashing red and the phone got hot. So I turned off tethering, but my LTE became intermittent, and over the course of the next day, I lost LTE connectivity altogether, even if I set it to LTE only, I wouldn't get any signal. This is what I've tried, changing different hybrid radios, changing ROMs, factory restore to original ROM. The other symptom, and the one I care more about, is that my battery now drains pretty quickly, whereas it would last 3 hours of screen time on before this incident, now it lasts less then an hour. And it seems to drain while the phone screen is off. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? Did I burn out my LTE modem?
I think you need a new battery.

I have a feeling it has something to do with the modem. Day 2 with the damaged phone reveals that my signal will go in and out, sometimes it will be on 3g, sometimes on edge (even in 3g areas). If that's the case, a new battery won't necessarily help.
Now 3g is gone completely. I can only use 2g. Anyone else run into this problem?
I had this problem a few years back. It was the wireless provider who was adjusting my internet speeds. After one simple call they stropped doing this and my phone was always connecting at 3G (I don't have the LTE hack installed)
I purchased my nexus 4 on release from the Google Playstore (UK) over 2 years ago now, recently updated it to stock 5.01 and have been bombarded with problems.
When using the phone, after about an hour of use it will suddenly ask me to re-input my sim card pin (I'm assuming this is a radio issue). After doing so, more often than not the phone will then just shut down - sometimes with a screeching noise?! At this point the battery still has around 50-60% left, when I then turn the phone on again, the battery suddenly drops and I usually see the figure to around 1-10%. This has required me to charge the phone 2-3 times a day in order for it to function, extremely annoying that the radio seems to fail and not pick up any network signal after the phone drops past 60% battery.
I've attached an image of my battery life to show what I mean about the drop - it's quite frustrating as I've looked after the phone extremely well so I can't understand why these problems are occurring.
Any help would be much appreciated!

To be honest, they all sound like gremlins from old data left in the partitions from the previous OS versions. I am on 5.0.1 and experienced none of those issues, in fact, it runs like butter. I would suggest a full wipe and see if that fixes the issue. Residual data can cause these sorts of random issues.
OP I have the issue with radio after a fresh factory image install. I have signal but cellular data will stop flowing. This is intermittent. Switching to airplane mode sometimes fixes the problem, but sometime I have to reboot. Considering going back to KitKat.
If you using android 5.0.0-5.0.1 - this can be android bags. i have this too it make me crazy!
I managed to get round to rebooting today (had exams lately so literally no time to sort the phone out). Did a factory reset and still the same issues, in fact it's gotten progressively worse since the last time I posted, battery cuts out at around 80% (switched off today at 87%). I get about 40 mins on screen time and bam, shuts down, I'm able to switch it back on in a minute or two, where I then see it down to about 15%. The fact that it's continuously asking me for my sim card pin is insanely frustrating, even more so when it shuts down RIGHT after i put it in.
