Hello everyone. I got a prob I need a hand with. Well it seems my current kernal doesn't have "netfilter" and i would hate to switch it i love it..is there such a thing out there as a netfilter update zip file to add to my existing kernal?Or maybe you know of a different work around.. See Im trying to connect my wifi tether and 3g hotspots apps to my PSP and it recognizes the connection barely and drops with full bars, any help I would be so grateful
Please correct me if I'm wrong and not having netfilter is the prob..

You cant change the kernel on DX. As for a patch I have no idea.

Did you actually do the hack to let you use the 3G wireless hotspot app for free? The monitoring module isn't responsible for that part of it, it was (believed to be) just for snooping.
What app are you trying to run?

Are you using verizons wifi hot spot? Go get Wifi Tether from the market...it works well and isnt verizon's

I have wireless teather already and it does work. I'm trying to use the 3g mobile hotspot app. Friend has the vibrant and uses his free. It seems much faster than wireless teather.

Have you followed the steps here to let you use them for free? If not, then you can't use them without paying. You gotta give more information about what, if anything, you've tried.
Sorry about the lack of info. At work rite now. Thanks for the link, its just what I wad looking for.

Hi guys.
First off,I have a problem with my wifi. When I am connected and have the screen turned off for some minutes,it's like I lose connection. The wifi is connected, but I have no internet and I have to turn wifi off and back on to be able to use my internet again.
Secondly,I have a problem(kind of) with chainfire3D.I choose a plugin and click fix market. However,I can see no extra apps. And what's worse I have bought Asphalt 6 from the market and I cannot install it!It won't show up no matter what I do!And it happens generally, not only with Asphalt. No additional stuff shows up on market.
I am on KE7 with KF1 CF-Root kernel if it matters.
Thanks guys,I hope someone can help.It ain't nice knowing I threw money away, don't you agree?

Bump!
Sorry for insisting but my nerves aren't in the best state they could be.
Wifi problem seems to be gone with Cognition 1.0.4.Chainfire3D/market one persists though.

I'm having this problem for awhile, tried different things all end up when tethering my phone shuts off about 45min to 1h of tethering.
Currently on EC05, stock rom and wifi tether 3.0 pre 12 but tried them all and going down in version for more stable one.

Settings, choose device build and select the Epic.
Also, make sure 4G radio is OFF before starting it.
I have all that selected still no luck.

this happened to me on ef02 it only worked when plugged in to a power source.
I'd suggest uninstalling that one and switching to Barnacle Tether. I recall the WiFi Tether app having technical issues that the dev couldn't get around.

No, its an actual Hotspot hack. Its not that WifiTether using Hotspot as a passthrough or whatever it does so the Hotspot icon comes on

Geez that made my phone unbootable (had back up) but made me more searching around that post so thank u. Since I'm on EC05 that didn't work but found patch that modified framework and now pure hot spot working without wifi tether, thanks again. The download is in the beginning of that original post call framework something read how to install.

I I just installed CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RCO-Epic last night. I have to say this is the first modded ROM that I am running and I love it.
But I cannot get Wifi Tether to work. I tried the Google version and also Barnacle. They both will run, ask for superuser, and they appear to start. But the SSID is not visible anywhere?
Is there anything out there that can fix this? Wifi Tether was working for me on the Stock Froyo (Rooted) but now wont work.....
Any help would be appreciated.
Samsung Epic 4g
SPH-D700
Android: 2.3.7
kernel: 2.6.35.7-gae7ed13-dirty [email protected] #1
MOD: CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RCO-Epic
Build: GWk74
Thanks!!
flash the latest nightly build
Check to see if your apps are saved to sd card, then move to sys memory(512MB), they should then be visible in your app drawer.......this is one possibility w/ your issue.
Also, as was suggested: reflash, could be a bad dl or bad flash.

Apps are not installed on the SD Card. Apps are visible in the app drawer.
The apps start fine and say they are running. I remember before I flashed with this ROM and using just the rooted Froyo I would get "Hotspot activated" and sort of a bullseye icon on the top. That does not happen, i only get the wifi tether icon on the top.
The build that I installed says on the first page the wifi drivers and such were fixed.
I am new to MOD'd Roms, if i install a nightly and it messes up, can i just re-install the original Modded ROM (both MTD), i konw that is a really basic question, but dont want to brick my phone.
You could also try the wifi tether that Flastnoles11 posted in the CM7 Discussin and tip sharing thread. It was about the 10th page so roughly just under post 100.

Why not use the wifi tether built into settings? That works perfectly fine for me.

OK, I was reading a post from 2010 about enabling the Wireless "N", but the install download "script" is no longer supported, and I am not comfortable with Hex Editing, so I was wondering if anyone had an updated script???
Are you just running the stock ROM? Most custom ROMs have wireless N built-in. MikG as an example.
Yeah, you're not going to be able to make this mod without being rooted, and if you're rooted, you should be able to either flash a ROM that already includes this mod, or just flash a modded stock kernel, which will also take care of it.

Connect to your router with your EVO. Once connected then go to wifi details and click on the AP your connected to. Then it will give you connection details like your connection rate. Anything over 54mb connection rate will be N. The rate will fluctuate but if you're next to the router you should get something like 72mb which is what I usually get on wireless N on my EVO.
