Texting issue is driving me insane! - G2 and Desire Z General

Hi all,
I'm using the Virtuous rom right now on a Bell Desire Z. When I'm texting, sometimes the screen moves up a bit so that the cursor and my writing is closer to being off the screen. Shortly afterwards it moves up again and it shows previous text messages and not what I'm currently typing. In short, it constantly prevents me from typing my current message until I move the screen back down to the text box. It is absolutely driving me insane right now as I frequently have to stop in while typing to fix this. Sometimes it happens many times per text and other times none at all, but it does appear to be happening more often.
Is there any solution to this? Is it the ROM?

Mine was doing the same thing I suspect it's a rom issue. I switched back to cyanogenmod couldn't stand it as I type allot.

Poor Performance?

Well Ive had my mogul for a while now and everything has been great. Yesterday however things started to change.
It slows way down when texting, often freezing in the text screen. If I restart the phone it solves the problem temporarily, but it pops back up shortly thereafter. Any ideas why? Im running the HTC home customizer and thats it.
Thanks.
*edit* Everything seems to be running incredibly slow now. Even if I restart the phone shortly thereafter the sluggish performance rears its ugly head.
im experience the same, i have found no solution
did you try SKTools FreeUp RAM or Oxios yet?
My sister had the same problem she fixed it (well i fixed it) by deleting all of the text messages she had (over 2,000) the phone isnt ment to hold over 1000 i think. Try to free up memory by deleting some text messages.
Text messages are a HUGE slow down culprit but there's another big culprit too - are you running HTC Home and do you have the input settings set to NOT do predictive text? Ie., turning off the 4 word suggestion as you're typing. Those two things seem to slow my Mogul to a CRAWL!

Nexus Stops Sending txts?

Ok I have a nexus one and I'm using Handcent OS, and i thought it was the program itself so I Decided to reset the phone to factory, and try it. It seems that after an amount of time of the phone being on it stops recieving data and sending it..like txt messages and I get network errors.. Is this a common bug or is my device buggy? because when i restart it, it all works again..but when I use it after awhile it will fail sending messages... and then I have to restart to finish sending my txt message...
my phone is doing this too. i thought it was just me. It does it with the stock SMS and Handcent as well. Just fails to send messages or send/receive calls. I hope it gets worked out, I love this phone to death!
P.s. I am not rooted

I'm not rooted either, because I love the phone stock... I would rather keep my warranty intact just incase something retarded happens. But yah I think its a software bug...or something to do with the 3g signal and all that signal bug thing going on...I love my phone too its so sexy..I love making my friends Iphone look like a piece of trash with icons..
A few times each week I get the exclamation mark in the red triangle when trying to text and I after I try a bunch more times it'll either work or Ill have to restart the phone. But I can't remember having an issue with phone calls. Sometimes ill dial and it will just hang up but it always works right after when I call again. There are a Lot of software issues that Im sure Google will address through time. Hopefully that's all this is....

I have this happen to me too intermittently. A quick reboot always resolves the issue. I just chalk it up to T-mobile network issues.

Same I think its tmobile too.. Oh well can't do anything about that..they just simply need to fix they towers...I got a tower about 3 miles down the road and its not very strong I only get 3g on the left side of my bed and I get edge when i walk to the right side of my bed lol
WE need a reboot application that reboots at night at least once everyday should fix it? ya think..Without root being needed....
Pinch to zoom needs to work in more than one spot... I've noticed in some spots it should be applicable and its not...depressing..
Glad to hear that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue.
It's not a T-Mobile network issue: If it regularly occurs, and rebooting your phone fixes it, then it's not an issue with T-Mo's network or SMSC, it's the phone.
Are there any bug reports filed with Google for this one? Does anyone else running non-stock ROMs have this problem as well?

One thing about typing its almost impossible to convey inflection so I don't know if you're kidding. If you aren't
, which would be weird, I don't know of any Android phones that flip any direction other than to the left for portrait. I'm sure there are custom roms that flip every which way but not stock
I'm not sure what you mean about zoom but it works in gallery, maps, browser and 3rd party apps can utilize it. Out of curiosity, where else did you think it should be available? I would say for documents but I guess that's a decision for the application's dev...

Facebook would be nice when your viewing other peoples pictures ya think? Some apps I'll list later but thats one of them
It happened on my G1 as well.
Maybe just some random Android bug ?
Y'all install handscent? I heard that causes a text bug..... thats what I heard so right off the bat I installed chomp sms and no problems...
I get the sms fail bug intermittently and I am on CM 5.0.4.1 although I never seemed to notice it before I started using Handcent. I do love that app though, is there a different one that is comparable?
Yes CM5.0.4.1 does allow for 360 degree rotation. You can flip the phone upside down and it rotates!

Mayne try backing up and flashing the back up or just flashing over it. Havent heard that issue. I had to deal with a battery issue the last 2 days. Required 7 battery wipes and 3 flashes but i only lost 2 days worth of material and everything else is intact.
I voided my warranty and your mum.
Well it's a known issue in Handcent that sometimes changing from landscape to portrait mode causes the conversation list to skip back to the first message, making you scroll all the way back down to the latest text. Or you gotta hit the back button and reenter the conversation. Also, it sounds like you may be getting some late / double texts? If so, that could be an tower problem from wherever you're receiving the texts from, or the one closest to you. For example two weeks ago my ex girlfriends cell phone sent me 75 of the same text message over and over. Turns out it was a tower near where she was at somehow thinking the message wasn't sent.
Damn. 75 texts. Id be pisses. Ive had double texts all day a couple of time but that takes the cake.
I voided my warranty and your mum.
(incoming completely off topic story)
i was texting my friend once, and it sent the same text 7 times, and then BAM all of a sudden all the texts she sent me came at once after that. so i got the same text seven times, and then about 10 texts coming in all at once after that >.<

[Q] Strange Texting Issue - Can't Believe it's Unique to Me

Greetings Gurus!
My wife's phone has an issue that, as hard as it is to believe, appears to be unique to her phone as evidenced by the lack of results in numerous Google searches as well as forums related to this phone and cell phones in general. Having said that, I submit the following with high hopes that someone has seen this situation prior and can offer some words of advice.
Her phone is a stock T-Mobile MyTouch 4G with only 3 or 4 apps installed - none of which are related to texting, SMS, etc.
When creating a text message, occasionally and randomly the following happens:
While typing a sentence, all of the sudden it will go into this mode where every time she hits the space bar the word disappears from the screen as if the space bar has become a delete button which deletes the entire word. In addition to that, sometimes it goes a step further and sends each typed word as a text message thereby unintentionally sending numerous texts just to get an entire sentence sent.
With the exception of a blue, teardrop-shaped dot that inexplicably appears on screen when this behavior starts, there's no warning signs or change in the appearance of the screen - it just happens. Sometimes she will be in the middle of a text conversation with someone and it will go into this mode mid sentence. It happens randomly and I'm not able to recreate the situation at will. Sometimes she can merely close out of her text application to make it stop but other times she has to restart the phone.
I have hard reset the phone twice to no avail.
I hope I have provided enough info. If you have the answer to this situation, I will be forever in your debt (well, my wife will actually...).
Coach
So you've done a hard reset right? Is her phone rooted? Does she have a custom recovery installed?
If that's true, then flash another rom and see what happens.
Hope I helped though.

Well it says its a stock mt4g. maybe if u root it and with 4ext u can fix it with one of the stock rooted ROMs
What he needs to do is check to see if he has s-on or s-off and go into recovery to check that the phone really is stock

One spot on left side of screen non responding to touch.

So I started noticing a few days ago that the send button for text messages wasn't working with the keyboard up. Only when I dismissed the keyboard could I send a text message. Well it turns out that the same spot doesn't respond to touch when selecting or swiping on the home screen as well. I have tried using multiple launchers, and rebooting fixes for a short amount of time.
I am getting ready to Odin PF2 to hopefully fix this issue, and hopefully fix a few other issues I have with this phone. Like Facebook and YouTube tell me I have no network connection when I can do a speedtest just fine.
If anyone else has had these issues please leave a comment, or if you have another solution.
Thank you!
