Poor Performance? - Mogul, XV6800 General

Well Ive had my mogul for a while now and everything has been great. Yesterday however things started to change.
It slows way down when texting, often freezing in the text screen. If I restart the phone it solves the problem temporarily, but it pops back up shortly thereafter. Any ideas why? Im running the HTC home customizer and thats it.
Thanks.
*edit* Everything seems to be running incredibly slow now. Even if I restart the phone shortly thereafter the sluggish performance rears its ugly head.

im experience the same, i have found no solution

did you try SKTools FreeUp RAM or Oxios yet?

My sister had the same problem she fixed it (well i fixed it) by deleting all of the text messages she had (over 2,000) the phone isnt ment to hold over 1000 i think. Try to free up memory by deleting some text messages.

Text messages are a HUGE slow down culprit but there's another big culprit too - are you running HTC Home and do you have the input settings set to NOT do predictive text? Ie., turning off the 4 word suggestion as you're typing. Those two things seem to slow my Mogul to a CRAWL!

Strange End key Issue

A little background: I have the 2.17 ROM, never had any problems with it.
I have a strange thing going on with my End key ... I am the type of user who uses the End key frequently to return to the Today screen ... been doing it ever since I got the phone with no problems. In the last week, however, I've noticed quite a bit of lag when I use the end key to get to the today screen (used to be < 1 sec, now it's 3+ sec). The interesting part is that when it does finally get to the today screen, the phone let's out a soft beep, similar to the beep you get when the phone drops a call or the other party hangs up on you.
Kinda annoying and I would like to fix it if possible (the lag, the beep is no big deal but probably a good indication of what the problem is). Any thoughts?
Thanks!
- Chris
No one? This is still bugging me...
This, unfortunately, is "normal". The beeping has always been there on mine... and the lag builds up over time as you install more stuff and have more programmes chewing away at the processor and free RAM.
Solution?: Hard reset, uninstall stuff you dont need, etc...

Issues with my Mogul

So I've noticed a couple of issues recently.
Just today, mine started freezing in text messaging when typing a reply. Says I am at like 60% of ram in use, but still crawls like a snail.
I've also noticed an issue with s2p. When sending a picture, it send the same one no matter what one I pick to send.
Any ideas on either of those? Also, what percent of memory does yours usually sit at with nothing running?
Additionally, my wi-fi doesn't work since I installed wm6.1 update. It always says the network is unavailable when I try to connect.
I am running sprints wm6.1 with picture messaging, and htc home plugin, with samsung omnia 3d drivers, oxios close apps

HELP! Messages not showing...

Hey yesterday i noticed a major issue. I was sending quite a few texts and in turn receiving quite a lot back. However after receiving about the 1st four messages they no longer began show up and my tone didn't go off. The only reason i noticed that something wasn't right is because the screen lit up and when i went to inbox there sure enough was an unread message- even though the screen never displayed a new message!!!
Today I'm still experiencing the problem...along with an obviously related issue. Ocassionally when i click on messaging it simply won't open and i find myself soft resetting the phone or turning it off and back on.
Obviously this is a major problem for me!...Please help me! Everything else is fine!
Oh and sometimes the phone randomly wakes up :/
bump!
i got the EXACT same problem, it is so annoying..
it shows no number of unread messages at the enveloppe on the today screen, however when you go in the message boxes there clearly are some unread messages, both e-mails and text messages..
is there ANY way to fix this? it's so incredibily annoying!
Have any of you tried removing some old messages?
I know I had some trouble with messages opening slow, but when I deleted a bunch of messages (and emptied the "deleted" folder), it worked great.
tried that just now with no luck, works on no other panel either..
I deleted my messages too and also uninstalled xperiatweak as ive heard this can cause problems...i havent yet had a chance to check the progress but as for the messaging tab opening up i dont seem to get that issue anymore *touch wood*. I
have noticed however that i get the occassional overload of device.exe errors and i mean overload...once one pops up about at least another 5 do! Even if i press send report or don't send report...it happens. I end up pressing the panel key :/ There are some definate bugs that need sorting.
Actually still no luck with xperiatweak gone...i got quite a series of device.exe errors and then after they'd gone i went to click on messaging and once again nothing happened...nor would contacts show! i think i may need to hard reset the phone!
megh i'd hate having to do a hardreset, don't want to lose my installed appz and having to install plus configure them again >_<
ive just done a hard reset...which i agree is a pain! But wow i forgot how fast the xperia is...i think im going to keep which apps i install to minimum and only install what i need. Obviously the error has been picked up from somewhere... What apps did you previously install? Maybe we have something in common?
torch button, mplaylist manager, neoFTP, pocket scrobbler, remote touch, skype, total commander, xchange r8, youtube panel, google panel, windows live panel... oh yea and tomtom7..
probably some stuff i left out due to them already being uninstalled.. maybe they left some traces in register i dunno..
pardon my french but f*ck this, i just did a hard reset too, will install the english rom too.. stupid dutch windows mobile.. (i know it's not the languages fault but it's an ugly language )
After hard reset...it has just happened again. I then thought it might be vistahide battery as come to think of it it didnt happen before that...been sending testers after getting rid of vistahide and everythin else ok. But i only have the new panels installed...no other add-ons now! So god knows!
Still experiencing this problem from time to time...very annoying! Hard resetted twice and no luck as such. It really is very annoying as i often miss messages if i don't see the screen wake-up Please...anyone know a solution or have this issue? Thanks
Bump .
Anyone?....
"zoelucker
Oh and sometimes the phone randomly wakes up :/"
noticed it happens whenever my mobile got a full bar 3G receptions... what about you guys?
Yes ive noticed a random wake-up and ive thought 'oh that must be another message with no sound grrr' then i look in messaging and no message...so wasn't that and was jus a random wake-up.
It is really starting to irritate me now and today my alarm didn't sound when it's been fine since i've got it! I wondered if the problem was connected? Do you think the new update (well not officially released yet)...the new rom or whatever would solve the problem? Please any light on this...the messaging one is my main problem because I can just set another alarm clock but for messaging...its what a phone should be able to do. Thanks.
Seems like there are few people who are experiencing this problem.
I have the same problem as you all are. I've tried emptying the message but no luck.
If hardresetting doesnt work, then the problem doesnt related to any kind of software we installed?
yea i hard reset twice so i know it doesnt
Its driving me mad now! Its the only issue i have with it and its a real shame because i love my X1 otherwise. Do you think the new FW will solve my problem?
I was receiving messages fine 20 mins ago and then 5 mins ago i got a random screen wake-up but thought it was a message that hadn't come through properly so i tried to go into messaging but it wouldn't open up....i tried everything. clicked it so many times. changed panels. nothing. in the end i had to soft reset the phone :S

tmous hd2 lockups, have to reset 5 times a day

i am getting some lockups on my hd2.
i have had it for 4 days now and it seems to be getting progressively worse.
it seems to have something to do with texting.
when i text there is a long (20 seconds or more) pause before you can enter text.
sometimes after sending texts it wont go back to the home screen.. the phone then will lockup with only the start menu showing..
at this time nothing works.. i have to reset the phone via the HD2SoftReset button i installed from the HD2Tweak program.
any ideas on what is going on?
I had the same problem as you before. I fixed it by deleting my txt from time to time. So you don't store too many of them on your phone.
thats crazy, i never deleted the messages from my tmo 3g dash and it never crashed
hope they fix it soon with fw update

yea, it's weird. somehow it takes awhile for hd2 to load previous text messages.
its entirely the fault of the sense messaging app.
keep your messages to around 100 in and out and you will be fine,
or disable sense messaging and use standard 6.5 threaded and you can keep them.
not a great fix but still a fix
Ditto! I'm having the same issue - locking up and freezing... Augh!
I do not have any text messages on the phone and I get dropped data connections all day. If I power cycle it does come back. It also seems to have an issue with updating my "Current Location" on the home screen. All of the other locations weather update but the phone just can't seem to figure out where it is.
Any ideas on this one?
thanks
i was having those same data issues i just called t mo and they provisioned it properly. have you done that yet/

[Q] Dialer / Keypad Lag or Massive Delay when making call?

I have a Canadian Rogers Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900W8) running the latest software update (as of last night).
Any time I dial someone's number, there is a full 10 to 15 seconds delay/lag before the phone 'reacts' and starts to actually make the call. This lag/delay happens regardless if I am:
using speed dial (though it is especially obvious then)
manually dialling a number
sliding to the right on a person's contact (quick dial)
pressing and holding on a contact's number to dial
I've tried adjusting the Google Sync settings, turning on/off the "Sync People details" as well as my Samsung account's "Sync contacts". I've disabled Facebook/Linked In "Sync Contacts", based on my theory that there was some sort of hiccup being caused by these apps' attempts to pull data on the contact immediately upon me placing the call.
The other issue is that Contact photos/names are also severely delayed when receiving an incoming call, for example when my phone starts ringing, all that I can see is their phone number at the top of the screen (almost as if it's the 'raw' cellular data), and not their name or picture (as normally would immediately appear on say my Galaxy S 3).
I've searched all over but have yet to see this issue pop up. This seems really strange. Any ideas or solutions?? Thanks!
Edit: I tried a second battery pull and hard restart and this seems to have fixed the issue for now. Weird!
If it's any consolation, it's not just your Rogers Note 3. I'm having the same issue with the Note 3 made for T-Mobile USA. I'm going to try the battery pull like you suggested and see if that resolves the issue, as well as some alternate dialers. I'll post my luck once I've tried this.

I have found this problem (delay dialing) for 2 weeks.
When I connect to internet, by wifi or mobile data, it is corrected. But whenever the internet connection is disconnected , it apears.
I'm disappointed from Note 3 because of lots of bugs that has got especially after update to kitkat
-delay dialing
-not working any auto call recording app.
-not working properly it's sensors.
And etc
Same bug here. 4.2.1. Phone was fine, never used to do it. randomly started doing this around the same time as I started getting multiple duplicate sms messages. Dialing delay goes away when wifi is on.
Very annoying. I'm open to suggestions!

At least 150MB of phone memory should be free..
Else, it'll lag..
I removed a few apps and now am having 200MB of free space on my Phone Memory (internal), and there are no lags..
Phone is running smooth..

Thanks for your reply! I have 1.1gb RAM free pretty much all the time, 1.18GB ROM free, and 20.99GB internal SD free.
Not sure this is the problem.
I got the same problem and i realized after i read this post that it doesnt happen if im connected with wifi. There should be a way to fix this, its a 500euro phone there shouldnt be such problems...
Had the same problem with a Samsung Relay, after a few updates. Had a chat with Samsung, after a hard cache clearing left me with the option to factory reset. Which I'm not very interested in. Uninstalled a lot of applications, then by chance connected to the wifi and sent an email. After that, it seems to be working now.
Didn't fix the problem for more than a few hours. Actually I believe hooking on wi-fi did it, because I connecting again this morning solved the problem again.
I installed a firewall and denied permission for all apps, let's see if this works...
No, the firewall doesn't work.
After connecting on wireless it works for about 3-4 hours. Then again bull**** happens. Don't know why, but this relation is interesting. There is no actual traffic sent form the device, since the firewall blocks a lot of the system bull**** apps from communicating, but after enabling it it works.
I see that enabling wireless even for a short while (3sec) is enough to get it back on track. Why might this be so?...
Prey
Factory reset, reinstall everything, then encryption. 4 hours. Tested during the procedure to see if it dials fast. It dialed, until the end, when it started to have the same problem again.
Then I got the wonderful idea from above to check if there is something wrong with Prey. A software to block your phone if it's stolen. And guess what, as long as it's not connected to the Internet, it hangs and won't open. Maybe this was creating the problem? Don't know, but for now I uninstalled it and it seems to be working. I remember it did an update before the problem occurred, maybe the update is the problem? Will write again if the problems persists.

Seems I'm having the same issue on two of my Prey-enabled devices (HTC One X+ and HTC One X) after upgrading to latest version. Happens with Data-off.
