Installing NAND on my HTC HD2..NEW USER HELP - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I have TmoUS hTc HD2 with stock rom and radio
now i am interest in NAND build...
I am using AmeriCandroid from SD card....
I read FAQ's about installing NAND....ok...so aren't these: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951 , http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769026 , http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=918899 the NAND rom's?
Why are ZIP written in front of every file? Are those NAND rom?
If they aren't than do i have 2 android in hd2 ? ( NAND Anroid ROM and another anroid frm above links)
Will I still be able to use SD android (like AmeriCandroid) when i have NAND android ?
Would appreciate helps

Your HTC HD2 has 1GB of internal memory so your best option is a NAND Rom. Nand and SD versions are posted on separate sections of the forum and are clearly indicated.

Thanks guys for the info

You can surely flash WP7 ROM. Just follow the guidelines carefully and you will be OK. There is no duel boot right now however.
That will remove your Android from the phone, and there is a dual boot, but it involves having Android on the SD Card and WP7 on the NAND.
There are ALOT of threads that cover how to flash NAND Roms back and forth. Its all done through Magldr.
If you have any more questions please ask in one of the established threads which can provide more information without having to start a new thread.

[Q] HELP and Suggestion required .

HI,
First of all , i am extremely sorry for creating this thread . ( Sorry Memebers and Mods).
Actually , i've just bought my new HD2 (India) . No Carrier . It's retail.
I've been scratching my head after going though so many threads and posts for ANDROID , Win Mobi 6.5 , Windows Phone 7 and Ubuntu .
Can u guys please suggest me : -
What's the best Radio for HD2.(Support 576 RAM)
What's the best WM 6.5.5 ROM for HD2. ((Support 576 RAM))
What's the Fastest and Stable WP 7 (SD Card) for HD2.
What's the Fastest and Stable Android (SD Card) for HD2. (Support 576 RAM)
What's the Fastest and Stable Ubuntu for HD2.
Names would be enough , i would search them and follow the instructions.
Guidance is Really appreciated and i need it rigorously.
Thanks in Advance.
(And MODS , Sorry Again)

First there is no definitive best ROM of any kind no matter what your poision (OS) is. Sorry but the ROM you use is really a choice left up to you and what you are looking for in a ROM.
The best radio is the 2.15.50.14 radio. You can download it from the "Master Radio Thread" in the HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 development forum. Also any radio above 2.07.50.xx supports 576MB RAM.
WP7 can only be run from NAND not SD card, youy can only run Android and Ubuntu from SD card.

Yes if both of those ROMs are based off of 3.14 ROMs so radio 2.15.50.14 will give you 576MB with either of those ROMs.
Check out Amnerican Androis for a SD card build.
I have nevernrun Ubuntu so have npo suggestion, but that is my next OS to test out.

[Q] I am new here so be kind :)

Hi,
I have flashed my HD2 to run Andriod 2.2 but looking to update it with NexusHD2-Gingerbread_V2.7_NAND_(Android-2.3.4)_update.zip
I take it this runs from the SD card and not the ROM?
Also will this work on a UK HD2?
Regards
no that rom runs from the nand NOT SD card, yes it will work on a uk hd2
shuld be all the information you need in the actual rom developers thread for the rom

[Q] How Nand/SD ROMs systems work ?

Hello,
i'm Microsoft Administrator and i understand quickly all tutos about Nand and SD ROMs.
i meet some probleme with SD ROM MCCM Sense 2.1/3 V8 because i've installed Coredroid 1.6 Nand ROM.
I didn't have any probleme with not Deside HD Nand ROM.
That's why i start this thread to give some technicals inforamtions about Nand and SD ROMs.
is it possible to compare with a PC (BIOS, MBR, OS) ?
Schemas and explanations are welcome for each ROMS sort (Nand desire HD type, Nand Desire type, SD).
Thanks a lot

[Q] whats the diffrence betwn android sd/ magldr/nand?

So ppl.. m new on androiding htc hd2..
i know wats d diffrence but
what are the profits on installing android on sd,, in magldr sd.. and in nand flashing roms..
for what shuld i go for so dat i culd get smooth and stable android on my hd2..
android sd and android mgldr sd have same performance. but nand roms absolutely much better in terms of stability and speed. especially in sense roms there is a big difference. sd sense roms are very laggy. so go to nand roms as soon as possible
Hey depaak,
i'm in the same situation.
HD2 with WM 6.5 and wanna have a new Android Version.
The perfect solution is - as mutil described - an NAND Rom for your HD2. [RAM is faster than a SD Card]
You've to decide if you want to install an Android with Sense (the layout of Android added with some nice features by htc) or an Android without Sense.
I took an Rom with Sense: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1298188
Nice Evening

you can use sd roms with winmo. but with mgldr you can use both nand roms and sd roms. for instance i use a cm7 build in nand and a miui rom in sd. that is one of the points that makes mgldr superior to clk.
