Hi my Wildfire is rooted and I have Wildpuzzle running on it.I have a couple of questions, how can I find out if I have the latest version of a ROM? I know there are many differant versions, but how can I see if mine is up to date? Is there any kind of time stamp or date that I can look for?
The next thing is that I have the app setCPU but the rom I have does not seem to support overclocking so do I need to flash a new rom or can I just flash a differant Kernel that supports over clocking?
Next I seem to be running out of space on my sd card, I have the app ROM manager but I do not see an option for deleting files from the sd card.Is the only way to do it by connecting the phone to a pc and delete the files that way?
Thanks for looking
1.Go to seettings>About phone>software information.
there you can find the software version where you can see the ROM version.
2.just flash a kernal which supports overcloaking.
3.download any file managers.there are lot avalible on market.
To find the latest version, check back in your rom's thread from time to time... the latest update is shown by the date. For cm7, check out the teamdouche mirror for nightlies.

OK I did a nandroid backup and have flashed Wildpuzzle ROM V8 then restored everything using Titanium backup and everything seems good but now Android market is not working.A box pops up saying the application process Android Market has stopped working please try again.
Must I uninstall it? Then where do I re-install from?Any ideas why this has stopped working?I think its something to do with the initial phone set up and registering with google but I cant rember how the phone was originally set !
Any ideas?
Thanks again.
Edit I must stop panicking.I went to Menu>settings>applications>Manage applications, then found Market and cleared cache and cleared data and its now working OK
You can try Symp's Patched Market:

Check Point 6 under FAQ.
OOK the next thing that has happened since I updated to v8 is that when I get an incomming text or call it does not display the name only the number.I've searched the settings, but is it something to do with the previous rom settings?

Stop using the old wildpuzzle rom which has that bug, and use the new wildpuzzle.
Don't know why you're even using that version when it got abandoned when official froyo came out.

Hi I switched from the Wildpuzzle Rom I was using to what I thought was a newer one to use over clocking. I thought I had moved from v4 to v8 I went to the thread on this board and downloaded what I thought was the latest version. Now I`m confused any link to the latest version?
This is the one I downloaded http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877243
This is where I downloaded from 0001_WildPuzzleROM_v0.8.zip: Main (Norwegian), Mirror (US)
It was ok til I downloaded this one which I thought was the latest
Any pointers greatly appreciated thanks
Yes, what you have now (WildPuzzle 2.2.1 v0.8) is the latest.

How can you expect us to help with no information, we need details, error messages, how are you flashing, what are you flashing. Please help us help you help yourself.
For cm6 I used _RA recover ..it is available through ron manager ... under flash alternative recovery.
Some roms dont work with 3.0 of clock work. For example I know some of Calkulin's EviO stuff does not work with the new clockwork. Download ROM manager and get one of the older versions. Hope this helps.
I use Amon-RA 2.3 and haven't had any issues installing roms. Currently running cm7 nightly 31, new savaged zen 1.01 kernel (fixed slow usb transfer issue), everything is flashing well. I don't use rom manager though, maybe that's the issue. I just do it through the recovery.
hello...
Iam running miui 1.7.22. and looking to update to miui 1.8.5.
been search a litle around and are still litle unsecure on how to do this.
Do i just boot into aMAGLDR and go into boot ad sd and pick the rom from the SD card and install ?
just like i did when first installed miui 1.7.22.
Or have i forgoten some steps i need to do?
thanks for all the help ...
Yup that is ok

if you don't use clockworkmod it's ok. if you use cwm go into the recovery and chose install zip from sd.
And just btw you can back up your data using MIUI backup first, then restore everything when you have updated your ROM. If you're using CMR I believe you can just update the ROM without losing your data, but that depends on which MIUI ROM (I think the stock one can only be flashed using magdlr, so if you're using a SD version it must be from the forums?) you're using and it's better to check the individual threads for that particular ROM.
oh i forgot to say that.
Iam not running from sdcard. iam using [ROM] HTC HD2 Leo MIUI.us Presents MIUI 1.8.5 Fastest Version Yet Pure English [AOSP]
called runing from nand?
Likewei92: backup part isnt that importent realy. since its okay to reinstall eveything. Just helps me learn it bether
Thank for the respons to. .
Hi all, hope someone can help me here. Basically was using Modaco ROM and flashed Cyanogen nightly last week, did full wipe first etc.
Problems arose last night when I plugged phone into laptop to transfer files, got a popup saying 'usb device not recognised'. Instead of showing up as external_sd my card is showing as mnt/emmc and I can't access it, only with Astro. Also problematic with my Parrot bluetooth kit but one problem at a time.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Am having the same problem on Oxygen ROM.
Spritebackup cannot find any of my backup files.
Anyone help?

That's normal.
From the Nightly Q&A thread; mnt/emmc.
Step 1: Post in the CM Nightly thread.
Step 2: Read the very first post in the CM Nightly thread.
tl;dr They're nightlies, not a stable rom.

Flashed Cyanogen Stable and it seems to have done the trick. Will stay away from the nightlies for now..
I've just downloaded the newest HD2' rom NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.5 (Kernel: tytung_HWA_r3.2) from this thread http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860. After trying it, there's a problem with turning on wifi. I turned it on, it say "turning on" and nothing happen then. I did some search on the forum but i couldn't find anything. I had installed AOKP CM9 build 40 before and got the same problem. My device is HD2 EU and wifi works well with all Gingerbread rom.
Would any one please tell me if there is any solution to fix it. Thanks for advance.
Hello,
You need this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445766
This problem is only present in Ice Cream Sandwich, that's why you haven't faced it before in Gingerbread.
Good luck,

Thank you guy.
I've read the guiding on that thread, and I've tried that. But nothing happened, the issue wasn't solved. My problem is that wifi couldn't turn on. I thinks It seem to relate to hardware problem. Do you have any idea about this?

I had the same problem its true this is something related with ics (now jelly bean) roms. Sometimes even after installing wifix wifi doesn't work, try dialing *#94349# and call button after installing wifix through the app

I also tried another ICS rom recently released and I faced with the same problem.Every time I press wifi button to turn it on, the button turns to on but not blue as usual, it grey, and it say "Turning Wifi on" for a while then turns off. :crying:
It never turns on:crying: . I tried an older ICS rom, and this is the only one that wifi work PARANOIDANDROID HD2 v1.0, later PARANOIDANDROIDs have the same problem! I wonder if there is problem with the kenal or something likes that ???
I'm a noob with a 2nd HD2 :crying::crying:

That's why you must read the steps properly.
1. Unzip the file
2. Put fw_bcm4329.bin on the sd card.
3. Now open root explorer or root browser (allow superuser request) on phone and move fw_bcm4329.bin from sd card to system/vendor/firmware.
A dialog box will appear click yes.
4. Now reboot phone and switch on wifi.
Edit: If this still doesnt work. Use tytung's kernel r3 and then follow the above steps

Problem solved. I flashed tytung kernel r2.3 and wifi works for me. Thank you for your help!

I also encountered this wifi issue, did you just flash tytung kernel r2.3 to solve it?
or you also copied the fw_bcm4329.bin into system?

Did you flash tytung kernel following this instruction?
Edit: Which rom did you flash successfully? I've tried EvoHd2IcsV9x, Unofficial-cm10-hd2(jellybean) and aokp b40, but I still can't turn on WIFI.
However, it better than before, that the system will ask me to turn on WIFI when the first boot configuration. (but can't turn on too.)
No, i flash directly the zip file. Following these steps:
1. Flash your new rom first.
2. Download tytung kernel r2.3 from link in his profile.
3. Open the .zip file (not unzip) and replace the file initrd.gz in \kernel\boot\ with the one in your rom (open .zip rom and it's also in \kernel\boot\). You have to do this step otherwise wifi wont work.
4. Flash the kernel via recovery.
5. Enjoy
Almost new HD2 ICS rom use tytung kernel r3, r3.1 & r3.2 and wifi not work for me. So i try to flash the newest release and downgrade the kernel to r2.3 and wifi work well.
P/s: i havent tried Cm10 yet.
