Photo gallery question here. - Xoom General

Hey guys I just picked up my Xoom about an hour ago. I'm a photographer and been wanting a nice tab for some time now to add my work, and use it as a nice portfolio. My issue is this.... I,ve dropped in a few photos into my xoom, all high res but when I go to view the images in the gallery they all look a bit pixelated. I would need to stretch the image out a bit to make them look right.
In the end if I had to do this for each image I wish to show it would just become a real pain in the ass. Anything in settings to fix this, or maybe an app that would help with this problem?
If anyone has any ideas please let me know? If there is no fix, than sadly I would need to return my new Xoom that I love very much.
Thanks.

Try QuickPic.

Yup a buddy of mine just told me about that app. Works freaking great! Looks like I'll be keeping my XOOM after all.
Thanks.

I am a photographer too..hobbylist at least (http://www.photographybykevin.net)
Anyhow, I host my pictures on mainly Zenfolio and sometime upload misc stuff to Flickr.
I find both of these apps are AWESOME on the XOOM
zFolio and FlickFolio...
Both of them will sync / download your entire gallery to your Xoom when you are on a WIFI connection, not 3G to save you bandwidth. It works pretty smooth and does a good job.
Otherwise the other option is manually copy the picture to the Xoom and use the Gallery 3D native to the Xoom.
The maker of zFolio and FlickFolio also make one for SmugSmug too I believe. The app is only $2.99, a good price for the app.

thanks for the suggestion

[Q] Anybody find a Photo Browser 3D download?

Okay, so I had an Acer Iconia Tab A500 for a few days, but eventually decided on switching to the Galaxy Tab 10.1, mostly because I need that extra battery life. But one thing I really miss right now is the Photo Browser 3D app. I really, really, really miss it.
Is it available for download as an apk somewhere? I already tried looking on Google but to no avail. I would really appreciate if somebody uploaded it, but if it turns out I can't get it, then I understand; in which case, could somebody recommend me anything close to Photo Browser 3D?
try to search in development section,
u can download any full acer rom, and get the apk from there, but i dont know whether it will work on SGT

Problem with Photo Browser 3D
I downloaded the app from your dropbox link, but it dosent work. I installed the app, it opens, i can see all my picture folders but i cannot open them.
I have a Iconia A500 with this rom:
[ROM][HC3.2][A500/A501]IcedComb 1.0 (Build 22112011) + Hotfix for USB Storage
I hope someone will help all of those how love this app including me.
Thanks a lot.
Here it is with acer need for speed.
If you want olny 3d photo browser, just delete nfs.apk in the zip. (System/app/nfs.apk).
Problem is you need apk and libs for 3d photo browser to work.
All is included.

Thanks for app. Works like a charm!

For everybody who is disapointed with the galaxy note's camera

The coding in the stock camera app seems to be a bit screwed up, it makes the camera tend not to focus well and seems a bit unclear most of the time. In that case use this:
https://market.android.com/details?id=vStudio.Android.Camera360&hl=en
If you have no interest in filters, there is an original version of every photo taken.
The one problem that may annoy you is the improper scaling. The photo's are worth it though, Here are some samples.
http://dagogo.picturepush.com/album/183838/p-Galaxy-note-test-(at-a-party).html
click on the pictures so it opens in a new window and then click "full" resolution!!!
Has a nice tilt-shift feature for enhancing depth.
Are you kidding
What are you thinking! Shot this this morning, no disappointment here! Must be something wrong with your camera.
Camera 360 is now free? I cant find Camera 360 Pro and Ultimate in the market anymore..

Apparently non US customers got screwed over like me, as Amazon bought exclusive rights to sell the Ultimate version in their appstore. Can't find it in market anymore. And my Titanium restore from Desire doesn't work either...
I don't like paying for nothing that much, to be honest.

I just checked, there should be a camera 360 free version, it still has some pretty cool filters. Its what I used in the photos in the link (if anyone is looking at them!!)

A lot of users paid for the Ultimate version and it is no surprise are far from happy in how the developer sold out to Amazon leaving it's paid supporters out in the cold.
For that reason they will not support the developer again, paid or free.
I just downloaded and installed camera 360 free version.
Works just fine....Ithink I'll still keep my Canon T2i however...lol
LAT
My camera works flawlessly.
After playing a bit with the Camera Settings may be I am getting somewhere Took it today:
I'm curious if anyone else noticed that the pictures after taken are not as bright as when seen through camera...
or am i the only one?
i downlaoded 360 for free as well. . .works great ..
camera is great in the day but i am finding it takes poor night pictures. .
Does this app scale (fill) the entire screen for everyone? I have a massive black border around it?

Got it from their developer website. This is great.
Edit:
I tried: It is on Beta - not working at the moment as it ask you to download other version. Do not install the above app.

Hmm... that's interesting..if ever there is a version 3.0, then why isn't it available directly in the market?

Such crappy apps.

I've been trying to find the perfect app for photos (particularly for my Flickr photostream) and what an abysmal lot of apps they are. The only one that seems like it might be good is FlickFolio but you have to pay to find out if it is. There is no free trial version or light version. I've tried nearly all of the free alternatives including Flickr's ofiicial app and that is terrible (Stuck in portrait mode on the tablet until you open a photo fullscreen and then it suddenly allows landscape mode. Exit fullscreen and it is stuck in portrait mode again). JustPics HD is sorta OK but has an issue where it makes the screen go full brightness when you show a photo fullscreen. Also it only shows sets instead of the photostream.
Don't even get me started on the inbuilt photo viewer. Complete garbage (why do I want to see every image stored in my books folder! Sheesh!).
This seems to be the way with a lot of apps on Android though. They seem to cater for either phone users or tablet users and rarely both. I don't have experience of Apple stuff but I am guessing things are a little more together over in the Apple apps camp.
EDIT: Sorry just having a bit of a moan.
Give Quick Pic a try. It's free and works nicely as a photo gallery for viewing local content on all my Android devices...you can choose which folders to include or exclude and the image rendering is very fast.
Id get flickfolio, really good app has all your stream and sets and so forth.
It stores it a set amount locally also so you can view while offline.
I've sworn by quickpic for a very long time but since the last few updates my albums sometimes take up to 90 seconds to load.

Try clearing it's cache.
I've done so. its a problem after cache clearking and reinstalls over multiple ROMs.
JustPictures works great for online albums as well as local stuff.
Flickr Viewer HD.
So far seems awesome, pics look great and a very cool layout. Still needs some interface work but my favorite Flickr App

HTC Zoe - Thoughts?

When I first heard about Zoe, I thought that it would simply take a few photos and a 3 second video whenever you take a picture. I also thought that it couldn't be turned off.
That was really putting me off because it would take way too much memory storing Zoe's all the time.
My mind changed, however, when I saw the following video -
It shows that it can be turned on and off at will and it shows a few more of the video editing that can be done natively rather than needing to download a separate app.
What are your thoughts on Zoe? Is it a good integration? Do you think you'll use it a lot? What do you think could be added to Zoe to make it better?
i didn't know Zoe did all of that which was showed in the video. Might be a neat little feature once you get the hang of it
I can see myself using and enjoying Zoe a lot, it's a really interesting and useful software IMO.

I agree, this time, HTC has included a bunch of useful softwares too
I'm only worried about how much storage space will take having all that.
Got to use the device the other day and I must say the Zoe feature does have a wow factor we took a few Zoe snaps and the displayed on a reel and it did look incredibly impressive. I would think the novelty would wear off eventually but im still going for it

Thank you for posting this video. Prior to seeing it, I was rather meh about the HTC One. Now that I see all of the photo editing functions brought on by the HTC Zoe feature, I will definitely be picking this phone up immediately. The three second clip itself I am not too interested in, but all of the abilities to manipulate photographs (sequence/touch-ups/removal) thanks to the additional frames provided by HTC Zoe makes for a wonderful experience to be had.

I'm not too keen on the 3 second clip either but perhaps we will be able to disable that bit but still have all the other useful features which Zoe is packed with. I haven't had a chance to test the One yet so I can't be certain about it yet though.
The sequence and removals will definitely be ideal though because the sequence will be perfect when I'm BMXing (just like it shows in the video) and removals are perfect for pictures being taken in a crowded public place.

I want to see if we can use our own audio tracks for the soundtrack feature, be it an available option or by finding the folder where they are stored and adding what we want.

From looking through this thread and the stock recovery thread (in development section), dev support really won't be a problem and will likely get root and custom ROMs available fairly quickly.
Anyone really tested this out yet? I know the One is already available in some countries, so hopefully some testers are around

I have a One, and have been taking a few Zoes.
One thing you need to know is that they will eat up space fast. Each Zoe stores 20 full 4MP frames, plus an mp4 video with audio, for a total of about 36MB for each Zoe.
The highlight video is neat but a little buggy. The filter for selecting which photos of an event are to be included doesn't work, so if you only want a subset you have to copy the subset to another event (gee, even more space eaten) as a workaround until HTC fixes it. Besides that, it works well. The songs you can pick are tied to the set of transition effects and filters used, which are matched to the beat of the music. The photos it picks and what order they go in is unfortunately random. No ability for custom songs and transitions yet.
I haven't experimented with the retouches yet, but the potential is pretty impressive for things like Always Smile. I can foresee myself taking Zoes indstead of stills and then only keeping the best frame for a lot of photography applications.
You cannot digital zoom when taking Zoes. It would look really bad anyway though, 4MP is not enough for quality digital zoom - Stills are terrible zoomed.
Thanks for pointing out that highlight selection bug. Thought I was doing something wrong there . Works good as alternative splitting events and selecting the stuff I want to use in a new highlight. Hope htc fixes this in a future update.

Phone created animated video all by itself, now I can't replicate it.. Any tips..?

So I have quite a few videos and pictures from a recent trip to Aruba and after I inserted the SD card into my phone, about 15 minutes later I had a notification in the dropdown menu that was a video my phone somehow created all by itself and now I can't seem to replicate it to show it to my fiance lol..
Anyone have any idea why my phone did that and how else do I find that video it made, because I can't locate it anywhere..
Thank you!
Do you have Google Photos installed? That's the app that tends to edit photos and make videos on it's own for me. Made a video from a series of photos I took of the kids at halloween.
