My phone vibrates every time I take my face off of it during a call. the sensor assumes my face is off of it so it turns on the screen and the phone vibrates. How do I get rid of this?
Cm7 nightly 31
Faux123 kernel 2.3.0 lv
NOTE: The vibrations during calls are not due to messages or emails. It is just vibrating to practically let me know that my face is off of the phone.
try messaging>settings>notifications> vibrate when on call and uncheck it.
Didn't work
Can anyone help? I've tried a lot of techniques and the only way to stop it is to cut off vibrating from the sound option altogether.

How can i enable the vibration even when i am in a call.
what i mean is that vibration by default gets disabled for the time being the phone is in call mode. so it wont vibrate even if some alarm or sms arrives.
I want it because i have developed an application that will make phone vibrate when call gets connected and will turn the sceen off. hence saving the battery and annoying screen clicks with my ears as i will get notified by vibration when the call gets connected.
Thanks for Reading.
I am having HTC touch ELF.
I guess post title says it all..
Whenever I start a phone call, the screen goes off...it is very annoying.
Any way to stop that behavior ?
I have searched this forums with no luck.
I am running Modaco's 2.3 ROM on an unbranded hero.
I have tried using Powermanager tools to define a 2min timeout in the "screen off during call" feature but with no luck.
thanks for the help!

There is an app called shake awake which wakes up the screen during a call when you move it away from your face.

Thanks. i'll give a try but the bad reviews are scaring me.
Is there a setting anywhere for that screen turning off while on call ?
i didn't liked "shake awake" the calls got dropped when the phone "shaked" sometimes i had to call the same person 3 or 4 times because the call ended. first i thought it was my phone but the problems started after installing shake awake. after i removed it my phone worked again
Keepscreen does the trick. Works absolutly great. The full version is able to keep the screen on with every application. Very handy when reading mail, browsing etc. You must set youre screenout delay in settings from the phone to 30sec.

I'd like an app that actually does kill the screen as soon as the call button is pressed. Sometimes the Hero is too slow to turn off the screen and you hang up the call with your cheek.
Thats annoying.
1024 Leo, USA T-Mobile version.
It only happens with incoming email, SMS and calls are fine.
When I try to reproduce the problem, I simply have to wait for the phone to check for new mail. The the phone notifies me about new email. If I try to turn the screen on, it won't. The hard button lights up, indicating the phone is on but I can't interact with the screen. Resetting the phone via the red button is the only remedy.
If I act real fast when new mail comes, sometimes I'm able to start sliding to unlock but it still crashes. If I'm really fast I'm able to even get to the mail screen but it still crashes.
But the crash does not occur if I'm already using the phone when new email comes in. If I want to reproduce it, I have to leave the phone "alone", with the screen off. If the screen is on when the new mail comes in, the crash does not occur.
The problem started occurring with completely stock phone, the very first day, without making changes. As I cab tweaked the phone, (no ROM) the problem persists, it happens.
Because of this problem, when I wake up in the morning, I can't use my phone because the screen doesn't turn on and I have to restart the phone so I can use it. My mail send/receive interval is set for 4 hours so while I sleep the phone receives new email at least once.
I investigated similar problems for TP2 and Touch HD but it does not help.
I backed up everything on my phone so I'm ready to make changes if you have any advice. I checked for: changing the email ring tone, wake up on new email setting. They have no effect on this problem.
After this happens, I tried calling my phone. It will not ring, but the hard buttons light up but are unresponsive, I can't neither pick up nor reject the incoming call. I sent an SMS to the phone in this state, it didn't do anything.
Do you have knowledge that can help me? Is anyone willing to try to reproduce the problem on their phone?
All you would do is set any ring tone for incoming mail, leave the phone with the screen off and "wait" for new email to come in. Don't do anything for a minute and then check if the crash occurred.
Please help, I hate waking up to a crashed phone that I need to restart every time. Because of this problem, setting a wake up alarm is useless.
If you can't help with this, at least is there any way I can "force" the phone to restart without removing the battery cover?
Thank you.
Hey,
I have a weird issue with the proximity sensor.
When I answer a call, the screen turns off as usual, however, every now and then the screen won't turn on after the call ends. The phone is still responsive however, and pressing the power button simply gives the lock sound.
I'm using CyanogenMod 6.1 Nightly 85 but I'm fairly certain it's happened before on other roms as well.
Any ideas?
That Problem I've sometimes too! Dont know to fix it...
Before you know it isn't Phantom vibration syndrome, it often vibrates when it's on my hand and it makes sound when not on vibration mode. And this happens periodically(1:00am, 8:00am, 3:00pm, 8:45pm, and 10:00pm). And my Note 4 doesn't have the settings shortcut feature.
My note vibrates every time I turn the screen on as a way of reminding me that I have a notification, you get one when you receive the notification, but every time you turn your screen on after that it vibrates to remind you
