Ok i got Hulu working on my Thunderbolt by following these steps.
1. Download Flash 10.2 on your phone, make sure its set to not auto update
2. Download http://www.mediafire.com/file/en3tj77er9ucrqp/libflashplayer.so
3. Use Root Explorer or ADB to put the file in: /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib
4. If it asks if you want to overwrite the file chose yes, i know it will if you use root explorer, not sure about adb cause i didnt use it.
Hope you all enjoy!

got to love the hulu app
Didn't try it yet, but if you guys don't want to pay for Root Explorer you can easily use Super Manager. Enable root in settings and it will ask you if you want to R/W or R/O when you go into directories that require root.
Tried it on my wife's Vibrant and I got it to work in Dolphin, but not through the App. It was a bit laggy, though, on the Vibrant in the browser.
Going to try my phone now.
edit - rebooted her phone and tried again (browser and the app) and they both say it's not supported now.

Yeah I did that. It was working fine til I rebooted then it stopped. The user agent was still the same as it was before I rebooted.

when i first start the app it asks for superuser permissions i allow and check the allow always button. so i'm 98% sure i'm good there. i have no idea why this will not work. any ideas??
Ive never had this problem, only when my phone was not rooted..
Hmm.. have u tried the regular stuff? Uninstall, reinstall, reboot, etc?
*This was posted from my Evo 4G using Tapatalkpro! Great app, if you want to browse and post through many dfferent forums*
Are you sure that you uninstalled the previous versions before you installed new ones? And if you installed a rom with it already installed, then used something like Titanium Backup and it restored Wireless tether, that can cause issues
yessir, i've uninstalled/installed every version of wifi router from oldest to current. i've also tried reloading my ROM 3 times with a different release each time.
the bizarre part is when i first got my evo i used unrevoked until i learned about full rooting and until then, my wifi router worked flawlessly. it's when i did the full root and nand unlock and installed OMJ's rom(with wifi built in) that the app quit working.
try this......
If you have root permissions, but still cannot start tethering, it may be an issue with either the tethering binaries or your tethering settings. From the main tether screen, try going to Menu->Setup->Menu->Reinstall binaries/configs.
when i hit menu from the main tether screen i get Settings, Access Control, Show Log and About.
So menu, then setup, once setup is open hit menu again and the option will pop up.let me know if it works.

Update your SuperUser Permissions app. ROM Manager has that, and you can find it on here.

Ok, so for whatever reason you don't have access to a computer or you forgot your usb cable, like I did.
Here is how you root with just your phone.
Download Astro Filemanager from the market.
Open Astro and goto, menu > more > preferences, scroll down to the helper apps section at the bottom. Check "Enable Browser Download".
Open up the browser and download this file (QR-Codes at the bottom)
http://www.mediafire.com/?98jdjo9q2tdewxv
Mirrors:
http://www.multiupload.com/A5M3LWN7FY
Open up Astro, browse to /sdcard/downloads, move update.zip to /sdcard
Power off your phone, enter recovery mode (vol keys + power)
select "reinstall packages"
reboot, enjoy root
Once you are done with this you can grab the rom manager from the market, install a custom recovery and restore your nandroid backup. Worked great for me!

Download the file with an alternate browser such as XScope. It will download to your sdcard/xscope/downloads directory. Hope that helps. Stock browsers have issues sometimes downloading zip files.
Seems to have worked for me...
-e
i managed to dl the file but i get an error when i try to install it recovery mode that says its bad. I used the second link as it works for dolphin. i guess ill have to DL this Xscope and see if it lets me DL from the first link and give that a go
Edit: i managed to DL the first file with the default browser but when i tried to install it i got the same error saying the file is bad
The file in the first link is 90kb and the one in the second is 6kb. Is one of these files the right size or is the DL bad
Edit: My last question was retarded. Its supposed to be 633kb. dont know why its only DLin part of the file
Final Edit: Got it to DL poperly with Xscope. Thanks
Alright i have the SU ninja app icon but when i open it i only get a black screen and i still cant load non market apps. Sorry im a noob to all this.

See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=738376 for non-market apps.
Hiya - I have the Desire and just got Wildfire for daughter - she is delighted-me less so as we have switched from PAYG to contract and I do NOT want her to go over her minutes, so have tried in vain to get the Mobile Account Checker from the Android Market. It shows up on my phone on the market, but not on hers! I tried scanning the barcode thing with her phone - not available. Tried with mine and bingo it is there. Any clues? I have it installed on my phone, but really need it for her!

Did you try to install via the website with Fastinstall installed and activated?
Just syncing with appbrain doesn't work.
1. download and install appbrain from market
2. download, install, and open fast web install from market
3. follow on screen instructions to let fast web install integrate into appbrain
4. visit www.appbrain.com search for your application and hit the "install" button on the appbrain website

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
5. the application should then be magically pushed to your htc wildfire,
if not: check that wifi or 3g is enabled. if it still doesn't work, try "manage my apps" -> "sync with appbrain" in the appbrain application and wait a few seconds
Sync doesn't work since it opens the market page or tries to.
i guess you're mixing it with "perform installs"
i noticed that sometimes i click install on the website, but nothing happens. even when wifi is enabled ... so i did the steps @ #5 and it worked then ... just a personal workaround. nothing official
i found a topic at g4 tattoo
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=645286
like simulate screen resolution higher.
but it need root first.
i m not sure how to do root on g8.
maybe anyone who already root can try it out.

to this lockscreen?
When i was playing around alittle i noticed that if you delete the HtcLockScreen.apk from /system/app, it will rollback to the default one. Atleast it did that for me.

On what build did you try that?
Edit: I can't find the system/apps...Maybe because my phone it's not an Android based? I have hd2 and i boot Android from sd card...
Is there any .apk to install it for me?
edithhh! I get it...i must have a rooted Android version and with the use of root explorer i can do it! I will give it a try!
I used "Linda-manager" to go into "my phone", there you'll get a warning if you're sure to go into that folder. There you'll find the system/apps folder. Rename or delete the lockscreen.apk.
It works fine, but the Windows-button of the HD2 overrules the lockscreen so you'll always be able to enter the phone with that button.
I'm still finding a way to solve that "problem".

Procedure to install via Root Explorer Method
1. Download the apk file from the above link to your sd card.
2. Now using Root explorer, go to /system/app
3. Mount the system to r/w.
4. Now search for Vending.apk & rename it to Vending.apk1
5. Copy the file you just downloded to /system/app & rename it to Vending.apk
6. Now press & hold the app and select Permissions
7. Select only the options given below. Now REBOOT & enjoy.....

Auto update with wifi on combined with cm7 hboot causes a restart if you have much apps that is going to be updated. Probably because of high data write velocity and small cache.
