Help Upgrading 2 dk28

i need a little help .. im about to upgrade to dk28 im stuck on which rom to use .. which is stable bonsai??? How Do i Choose A Rom I Dont Know Wat Ext4 is ... Whats a Simple Plug N Play Stable upgradeable rom? Do I Add the pit file along with pda file on odin???

Why don't you upgrade to the Stock DK28 first? It's pretty simple to do.

remove the .md5 extension so it only has the .tar extension. It will work after that.

After you odin to dk28, I suggest rooting using the clockworkmod recovery 3.0.0.5 one click root method. It will format your phone to ext4 when you boot into recovery. I also highly recommend bonsai as a custom rom. I have been using v1.1.4 for quite a while. It is just as stable as stock eclair di18 and gives you an excellent froyo experience.

stuck on Samsung Galaxy Y logo..

Tried flashing a custom firmware, but ended up in a sort of boot loop, so i flashed my old firmware back, but the same problem occures, stuck in a bootloop..
No matter what I flash Im stuck now
help!

How you then flashed the stock rom

I was on DDLC2 HYBRID ROM v3.0
Tried to flash using CWM to [CusRom] Repencis v3 - DXLC1 - TIGA - {Update 02}
But stuck
So I tried flashing using CWM back to HYBRID

tried flashing using CWM to creeds
stuck
Trying to use odin to flash back to stock to try again, but that's not given me any luck i.e. still stuck

i constantly change roms and i never encounter anything like that.. this week alone i flashed hybrid 3, repencis 3 and chobits 1.4b just to test them out and i never flashed back to default firmware.. try flash again but before you start flashing make sure you wipe data and clear cache

also have you flashed any custom kernel? because as far as i know those roms need to be flashed on stock kernel

When I wipe data I get:
E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/stl10

Have you done repartition using odin

Nope, havnt touched any tickboxes, left all as default

Which firmware did you flashed using odin....
from sammobiles or where
Solution will be
Use odin 1.85(supports sgy)
Download odin supported stock firmware from doky's post in dev section
flash with repartition checked... Use totoro___.pit
if not working after this... You must be having a hardware issue... Have warranty then good to go.

as long as you are able to go into download mode, you are still good. Just make sure that before and after you flash the new stock firmware, you should always "wipe date and cache" both via stock recovery and cwm.

Thanks that worked i was using a wrong firmware for odin. All good now

Well, i have that issue with a galaxy s Young from ClaroPR(5360L). I have tried all firmwares available also from sammobile. Thing is that when the phone reboots after a successful flash it will go to recovery to apply csc and all the stuff and says cant mount E:/data or something like that. It will reboot itself but stays on a bootloop, splash screen and reboots again. Does someone have had this issue?

Changing with custom kernel is a bit rough, try to use the lite versions of roms

Try flashing stock using odin might help!!! i have had almost similar prob!! not exactly the same though!!:good:

i already used odin... but im still stuck .. my friends' memcard was reformat

try using ODIN and follow instructions

I was earlier on EH18 rom & now I am currently on geewiz 2.8 kernal & system (which was flashed using CWM red recovery) with EH18 radio. I have tried to Odin stock EH03 rom (md5 is correct) on my phone but could not go beyond modem.bin. I tried the same with FC27 rom too. Every time i try to odin i am getting stuck at modem.bin.
Has my handset been locked by my service provider from whom i have bought the handset ie Reliance (india)?
If yes, how do i unlock it safely without disturbing any other settings so that i do not lose my connectivity with them?
If no, what else could be wrong?
Can i flash EH03 baseband (radio) via CWM??
I need to do this as I'm not able to upgrade my handset to AKOP ICS roms which need my phone to be atleast on EH03 before starting.

try the geewiz odin file.. that should put you to eh03

I have already tried to Odin geewiz full rom but that too gets stuck at modem.bin

Have you tried odined the other full roms? Maybe that will help you pass the modem.bin step? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1526488

i have tried flashing EH03 stock & geewiz full rom too but still no luck...

Heimdall uses itd own driver...maybe you would have more luck with that? Have you tried flashing just the radio with an older version of heimdall? Don't use the newest suite as the program has become more of a Odin replacement rather than a granular tool.
Actually, now that I think about it you could also try the 1 click eh03 package in the dev forum.

Sounds like your partitions are screwed up or you are using an incompatible/bad version of CWM.

How do i restore my partitions? I have used CWM, stock as well as geewiz recovery to wipe data but all of them display similar mesage saying cannot format dbdata

Have you tried to Odin stock eh03 with the pit file? That may help. And make sure you check reparation

N910H damaged ext4 help plz ?

i need help to save the note 4 N910H of my littl brother
i don't know what my brother did exactly with the phone. but now the phone stop working ,it show just the logo sumsung and reboot to recovery . the phone was rooted and with recovery cwm v6.0.5.1 philz touch6.58.9.
now the only thing that work is recovry and download mode .
i search in the forum the way to solve the problem and i try many thing without succed
i try to flash with stock rom with odin and i try many other i always have the " THERE IS NO PIT PARTITION"
i try with the PIT file .
i try with many usb cable.
itry to format with cwm i have "E:error mounting/data !" but for other its ok (boot ,system,cache ...)
i try to flash some custom rom using cwm it start flashing but after few i have "e: error" and "e:damaged ext4" "uknow volume ext/path".
so plz help :crying:

Sounds like you device's internal memory's MBR maybe corrupted and needs to be reformatted completely before you can flash a ROM back onto it. I don't know how to do so I would recommend you do allot of research online or ask members here for help before attempting this yourself.

the terminal command work in the phone so i can try to format but im not good with the linux command .
i try with Mke2fs but i don't know the name of the partition ?

plz any one can upload or share Stock BACKUP of N910h to restore with cwm

Flash with the pit file for your device and repartition. But use the right pit. See the pit on sammobile forum

[SOFTBRIK] HELP! Error writing partition!

I have a Redmi 2 2014813, that is giving me a " error writing partition" when i try to solve my softbrick problem. I have tried flashing a 2014811 and 2014813 rom to it , with the moded modem files for the 811 , it wont work with eider. I have tried all available recovery's for it even tried CWM for the 811 model , each and every one of them is giving me a can't mount /cache /data /system. So flashing from recovery is out of the question. Anyone have an idea how to fix / repartition the phone ?

Replace the mobile to mi service centre!!

If you can still go to fasboot mode then you can still resurrect your device,search how to fastboot rom device,it will correct itself whatever you have done.

it won't flash , please look at the atached pictures to my original thread! It says : error writing partition when it should start flashing.

I had a modded 811 fw , but even that wont flash now. And by moded i mean , i exchanged the modem files for it to work.

If you can flash recovery go to wipe advanced then try to wipe these partition one by one if this doesnt help try fixing context option in twrp,If all fails then theres no option other than service center.
