[Q] CM7 nightly 3/26 video attachement not working - HTC Aria General

I've had this issue before with CM7, well actually since I've started using CM7, I go to messaging and then attach a video (one I'm going to shoot now) and the video screen comes up and then when I hit the record button I get an error message and the video closes back out to the messaging....I have a friend that is using the same CM7 I am and his works.....and I believe we used the same process to install....

[Q] Video Camera not working

hi guys,
I noticed that VIDEO camera is not working well
it does not save the recorded videos and you can not change the format, and if you try to save, crashes..
when I open a video the screen stays black or a error message appears..
is it a software problem?
i've got cyanogen 6.1 stable mod
photos are good, i have only problems with the video
go flash cm7, camera works. why are you still on cm6.1 anyway, cm7 is stable enough. pretty much everything works.
It's a known bug and stated in the 2nd post of the CM6.1 thread.
so i'll go to CM7 as soon as possible.. thx

[Q] CM7 & YouTube

(This probably belongs in dev forum, but I can't post there yet.)
I'm wondering about the status of CM7 and the YouTube app. I've heard comments that it doesn't work... but it works for me *after* opening a video from Opera Mini.
1) Open YouTube app, play video == sound, but no video.
2) Tried in standard browser, only plays in browser if I change user-agent
3) Tried in Opera Mini, clicking a video launches the YouTube app and it plays.
4) YouTube app now appears to work fine.
Any idea what's going on with this?
EDIT: I'm running Ladios' CM7-RC4-KANG ROM.
I just opened the YouTube app for the first time since a clean install of CM7 RC4 (w/ Ladios's kernel). I had installed the YouTube app days ago when I did the clean install, but haven't run it until now. (I know for sure because it just asked me if I want to accept the agreement when it started.) I just clicked on the first video I could find and it played with video and sound without any problem. I'm not sure why you're having problems.

+1 - new install of YouTube on CM7 N37, no problem playing any videos.
Interesting. Maybe I was just experiencing a glitch then. I'll update the thread if I encounter the issue again. Originally I was thinking that Opera may have caused a particular module to load that the YouTube app hasn't. If I'm able to reproduce the situation in my original post and stock CM7 works then maybe it's Ladios' kernel.

I don't think its ladios' kernel, I've been running his kernel with the latest nightlies for several weeks now, and YouTube works fine for me.
YouTube works fine for me and im running ladios's rc4 rom on clean install.

[Q] Camera previews flipped + video not working

Hello to all,
I installed Android on my phone yesterday and am amazed how easy it was, and how everything works perfectly! Thanks to all the teams/devs for the great work!
The only issue I have is with the camera (the one at the back, I'm not using the front one). Previews are displayed with a right-to-left flip (e.g. showing text written backwards). When the picture is taken it is saved right, so it's just a configuration issue I guess.
Also the video function is non working. I always get a "The application Camera(process com.android.camera) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again".
Camera360 and Camera Zoom FX do not have the left-right problem, but they do have the video problem. I did not keep them as they do not work in full screen.
My config : HTC HD2, Android 2.3.4, mod HyperDriod-CM7-v2.1.0, build GRJ22
Thanks in advance for the time spent reading me.

i have problem to((
when the htc hd2 use Windows, camera and sound are great, but when you put the android, the focus is not a good picture, the picture is dimmer than the camera in Windows, and the sound is 20 percent weaker? Does anyone know a solution for it, now I use a miui 1.6.17

[Update 9/19] MIUI camera v17 & Gallery for CM7 & Blur builds

This is still a WIP, camera is100% working so is video.
I added the Miui gallery apk to the list. I can confirm it works on CM7 as of now. If someone wants to test on stock blur builds let me know the outcome.
I see a lot of people complaining about the stock CM7 gallery so giver a shot.
If you get a chance THANK Mongoosehelix for his hard work. I just brought the app to our table but he is the one doing all the hard work!!!
Hopefully this modified version he has will work. MIUI cam is by far my favorite.
My girlfriend has an Inspire running CM7. When I put CM7 on her phone she was greatly disappointed in the stock CM7 camera app. I put the MIUI cam app on her Inspire and she loves it. I have to admit the app is great and has alot of great functions that most ROM cameras dont.
The MIUI cam offers a few options the droid 3 cam does not ie: Burst mode, anti shake, and a nice quick continuous auto focus. I have been playing with them side by side and i have to say the MIUI cam seems to do a better job overall. Images seem richer and a tad crisper.
The app needs a little DEV TLC still, but all camera functions working. Video works, just not sure of its resolution.
I am not a dev and I just like to play around try to get things working that dont lol. Well this worked out of the box to my surprise. Give it a shot and report back what you think.
If you have both the droid 3 and miui installed you have to back out of the app not just hit home or either cam app icon will revert to one last used, unless you back out then you can go back and forth. No FC or errors.
Focus tone still exists when long pressing picure button. Mute for the shutter tone works on CM7. Blur builds require the build.prop edit below.
Blur build shutter tone removal build.prop edit---

MIUICamfixed.apk--->http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24110240/Camera.apk
MIUIgallery.apk---->MIUI Gallery
I'm not getting it to work, I downloaded the apk and installed, made sure that I backed out of the stock camera and killed it another time, but miui camera still force closes.
Sorry wrong files, Links fixed.
Forgot to mention I'm also on Alien 4, fixed permissions through ROM Manager the first time, didn't work, tried through CWM, didn't work either, still force closing.

The video is being saved as a 3gp so no, but i am sure a clever dev out there can tweak this working MIUI cam to do more with the atrix hardware, but tahts outta my league. I think the only benefit in its current state is just the added picture options for the camera. I havent had anytime to work on this any further as i am at work and already doing stuff i shouldnt be doing lol.
can you change where the images are stored?
Its for picking the location you wish to store the files, but considering this isnt designed for our hardware it doesnt know what to do i think. By default it saves to internal DCIM folder. There are still a few minor bugs to work out, but for the most part all camera functions are working. I hope a dev can take this and build upon it to make it 100% functional, it will stay as is for the next day or two. Im off 3 days in a row so that will give me time to dive into the inner workings and tweak it a little.
I wanted to get this out so others with a little more know how could improve it before my slow ass can get to it. I just wanted to share because i think its one of the best camera apps out there.
Just for ****s and giggles I tried it on cm7 pb3 it opens and I can see the whole ui set up and when I click to take a picture it flashes but doesn'tsave the picture(exact same thing with stock cm7 camera at the moment) so hopefully when thise wrinkles get ironed out mui camera should work for cm7 also. *crosses fingers*

Yup thats the same wall i got too with it as well, i then decided its something to do with CM7 and hardware. Its there and working as an app in CM7 just cant access the hardware completely or something along those lines
I like it, but I can't get it to turn off the shutter sound.
as soon as my apt-get update completes on webtop, i'll reboot and test it out on Aura 1.1.3 Build 8 Debloat.
I already have it transferred to system/apps and have fixed permissions, will report back shortly

Ya that's one of settings not functioning atm as well as storage location etc. Hopefully I can get her ironed out so all app settings work. For now though the main functions are working

installed great on Aura, i just plopped the .apk into system/apps
as with the others, shutter tone would not silence, no option to choose storage location, other than that i love it, might be a keeper
Works great on aura. I downloaded the .apk and simply installed it with the package installer! It even saves the picture size that you last selected. Forget the droid one, I like this one.

FFC support and im switching!
I'm glad the the v17_Fixed2 version is working pretty well for you all and if you want to install it using a flashable zip, follow the link in my sig. Also, I'm curious if the v17_TEST1 version I posted HERE works any better for the Atrix. Other phones have been able to switch to and use their FFC as well with TEST1.

[Q] Neutrino 2.2 Gallery bug

I am running into an issue with Neutrino 2.2. Pictures I take with my camera are 'cropped' when I view them with the gallery app. If I 'zoom out' and hold it I can see the entire picture, but if I let go, it zooms back into a cropped view. Note that pictures that I have downloaded to the phone work normally. It's just pictures that I take with the phones camera.
Has anyone else seen this?
If I remember correctly I also saw this with Neutrino 2.1p
Thanks!
Have you tried rebooting the phone? I've noticed this on just about every CM7 ROM I've used and came across the same issue. I don't think it's a problem with Neutrino's ROM, but more with the Gallery3D.apk that is being used. I'm currently using Wet Dream and I pulled Gallery3D.apk from the CM7 weekly 6 and pushed it to system/app with the same effect you described. Worked perfectly after a reboot.
