Just thought about gathering up some info on Quadrant scores and possibly correlate that to ROM/Kernel/MicroSD setup in order to figure out the best combination. I understand that Quadrant scores are somewhat subjective and Kernel code along with HD2 Android Builds are constantly changing, but it would still be interesting to see the tendencies in the performance.
Here is my most recent result:
Quadrant Score: 2046
Neocore Score: 31.8fps
ROM: [Build][21.10.2010][NexusHD2-FRG83 V1.5 PPP + RMNET (Froyo 2.2.1)]
Kernel: Hastarin 7.7
SetCPU: 1152/1152/ondemand
MicroSD: Transcend 8GB Class 6
Please note that I ran Quadrant and Neocore multiple times and I am showing the highest score achieved. I recommend you to do the same. I have seen 1994, 1997, 2015, 2017.
Here is Quadrant Score breakdown:
CPU - 6405
Memory - 1139
I/O - 1958
2D - 309
3D - 418
I noticed that 2D and 3D scores are not fluctuating as much as the other scores, though overclocking does slightly increase their values.
Thanks,
-CJ

that's quite some result!
Quadrant Score: 1500-1700 (varies quite a lot)
ROM: Mdeejay FroYo HD v.3.7
Kernel: Hastarin 7.7
SetCPU: 250/1152/conservative (performance doesn't change score)
MicroSD: Sandisk Class 6 (Ultra version)
I think it would be useful for those who have quadrant advanced to post the breakdown of their score to see exactly how everyone differs so much.
Not to be a buzzkill but a synthetic benchmark result from any of these programs doesn't really mean anything. It's more than possible to have a high linpack/neocore/xyz benchmark result and have a sluggish, unresponsive UI. You can do all sorts to Android to inflate your score but what counts is being able to use the phone day to day, with no problems.
how are you guys running neocore. my phone keeps telling me i dont support qualcomm accelerated graphics. then it force closes.
ive tried nearly all android builds, with a variety of available kernels.
none of them seem to allow me to run neocore. however i can get a 2k score in quadrant advanced.

Neocore FC could be a kernel issue (and/or maybe related to stagefright). Try Hastarin's 7.7 kernel and/or make sure stagefright is enabled.

score from my floyo v0.20 from racht:
using Quadrant 1150 with 748MHz
anyone know how to improve to get more? for me reboots if I set more than 748MHz :S
I once got 1323 with racht's floyo v20, 768MHz...
This has no place in DEV section ! Post in general.
I got 1026 in MiniCM with standard 600mMHz
I got 1113 with racht's floyo 0.20 without overclocking
anyone know how to improve ROM's to be stable for highter processor's frequency?
Crashes when set it more than 748MHz
Does anyone work at higher frequencies?
Max frequency depends on processor and every processor is different. One can run on higher frequencies without problems but other can't. For example: I can overclock max to 710 Mhz but you can overclock to 748 Mhz
quadrant 1132 floyo 0.20 [email protected]
floyo v0.20 from racht: 1081
Racht's floyo 0.20 - 600 MHz
About 1050
Sent from my X8 using XDA Premium App
MiniCM - 1430 (825 MHz)!
froyobread v004 no oc.
:1079
update: after switching to doixanh FroyoBread, I got 1114.
CPU Scores 3612.
Got floyo 0.20 , most system apps removed, max available ram 109 mb , no oc, max score 1100

Nice scores
Is anyone try benchmark with new HACKDROID CM7 2.3.4 gaming rom realise?
1050...but i will try again with less apps
Total : 1175
CPU : 4038
Memory : 884
I/O : 347
2D : 265
3D : 383
Floyo 0.20
Overclock : 748mhz
some apps installed : advanced task killer , android booster , astro file manager , barcode reader , double twist , engadget , GPS speedo , just pictures , maverick , kreac Calculator , MultiTasking Pro , note Everything , opera Mini , Vplayer , SetCPU and smart keyboard
plus preinstalled apps in floyo
but before running quadrant i cleaned up memory with advanced task killer so i don't know if those apps was affecting the result or not
floyo .20 quadrant --> 1050
miniCM overclock 800+ --> quadrant bigger than moto droid x
but uselles because i dont like gameloft game, i more like strategy game like grave defense, majesty kingdom, etc.
FroyoBread with 825 Mhz - 1415 (first place!)
Why i don't get reboots on 825?
I got 1067 points in Quadrant GingerFroyo v1.4.16 ROM with no overclocking.
Up to how many can I overclock my MHz X8 without problems?
Greetings from Brazil!
A new benchmark app is out that promises
results that cannot be faked like some other apps.
It also gives you more relevant information like browser performance etc.
It works on HC although it switches to portrait automatically.
Check it out, what do you think of it? Post your test results and rom version here on this thread.
The name on market is Vellamo.
Results included, overall result 1174 - rom info in signature at bottom... LOL my galaxy rom hammered the actual galaxy 10.1 although she is clocked at 1.4
Enjoy

Can you try without OC, just to be fair

Not too shabby with stock, but so far cant see anything better than virtuous galaxy...

My Iconia gets 986 with stock rom 4.010.22
the result does not really matter since some parameters have to be taken.
so let's compare like this
* from 100%, maximum light, maximum sound, wifi close (to avoid any kind of mail notification or else), during 30 minutes playing a game like let say "NFS and everybody's golf"
how much battery you left ?
then let say we can do some kind of math rules to be more FAIR
how compare score, with so difference in term of OC.
guys try to be fair, see the score between stocks, between roms, between oc, between kernel.
run also 3 or 5 test and make an average score
but do not forget the battery, nothing matter more than the lifespan hehehe
stock acer iconia 3.1 @ 1ghz = 950
Score: 1139
Cpu: 1408mhz
Stock plus custom kernel V1.3 20-05 Richard.
Cheers!

Hello i have CM 10.1 Jelly Bean 4.2.2 by Quarx (04.04.2013) and i have problem, i see BT don't work but Quarx say: Suspend optimization. and what i can do? Quarx left project? BT never work in his builds?. Second part of topic is question about overclocking. I try to play games on this rom with smooth gameplay but: 1) What governor i should use? (Good performance = average battery life) ; 2) What should I set the CPU speed? (Now i have: vsel1=300 MHz, vsel2=600 MHz, vsel3=900MHz and vsel4=1100MHz) ; 3) What should I set the voltage? (Now i have: vsel1=30, vsel2=46, vsel3=56, vsel4=60 ; and Smartass settings i really don't know what these parameters increase / decrease ex. smt_min_cpu_load. Please guys help me with these .
I almost forgot i have Aventador theme and performance is lover, but now i change to stock, and second thing i remember is SuperUser problem. When i play game many times i have message ex. permission is granted for SetCpu (this is example because i have polish language in my defy and it's hard for me to translate this) and this message i see sometimes every two seconds!.
Just use the formula vsel = clock frequency/20 + 2.
So for 300MHz the vsel value will be 17. Almost always results in a stable device.
I change these values under CPU settings in the boot menu. So I have no problems. Be careful while changing the vsel values in the boot menu. Hope this helps.

I set in cpu settings in bootmenu but still have lags, but NFS Most Wanted work (with small lags but work) and battery drain to fast
Myself, I had a huge loss of performance after installing 4.2.2 Jelly Bean by Quarx. My phone is lagged most of the time with huge and long freezes, and 3D games are now barely playable.
Asphalt 7, for example, used to run just fine on Froyo 2.2.2, but after the update to Jelly Bean I can't play it anymore. Just an example, not to mention the huge lag on UI!

Yes but week ago i have CM 7.2 android 2.3.7. and my defy have 476 mb ram, and for me on jelly bean i can use 140-180 mb and on 2.3.7 same (sometimes i can use 220mb). Month ago maybe 3 i have WajkUI and this rom have great performance with lags but sys not use much ram (220 mb ram i can use more times but many lags and games have lags - WajkUI on defy = ****, ICS on defy = ****, JB on defy = ****, sometimes i think CM 7.2 with android 2.3.7 = **** because i have "hotboot's" (Ultra Fast Reboot) Today im going to back to Cyanogen Mod 7.2 with Android 2.3.7 because many games work smooth. For me, these two systems (JellyBean and IceCreamSandwitch) I will be used only when l buy a new smartphone (Galaxy S III or Sony Xperia Z)

tried jb too..but cm7.2 is more suitable for my defy..stock rom is way too laggy..
opt for JB 4.1.2 at vlse +4,+8,+12 and get into bootloader where you can change the values for UI integration time as +/- 16 ..It runs good for me..
Till recently I was using the old 6-13 rom, before Hummingbird went to nightly builds and they could build the overclock into the rom.
Since upgrading to 10.1.3 I've read cyanogen doesn't allow for any overclocking like this in the rom... so what could I use to bump the clock back up to 1.5ghz? I have the performance options in the menus but the maximum clock speed is the default 1.3ghz.
Thanks guys!
