Are you using adb or fastboot? Gotta use fastboot

you tried that?

Since you've unlocked your bootloader, you can get into download mode by turning off phone, holding volume rocker up, plug into usb of computer.
After that, follow this guide step by step for success.

I'm having the exact same problem. How did you solve this? (I'm on a stock, rooted, Nexus S)

As posted, us Odin, first you need to download Odin and the rom to use with it, I think the only one available is a 2.3.1 100% stock, I'll try to get the link for you, on the phone, power it off, and hold down the up/down volume then connect your USB to the phone, you phone should indicate downloading ., from then follow the info posted, I'll get you the link.

ok so i wanted to flash clockwork 3.0 but i was still running cm 6.1.1 and now i am stuck at the htc boot screen. i also cant get into recovery please i am begging for help.
please someone i really need help i obviously cant use my warranty obviously so please help me restore this or just get it back to working without a root anything
Dont worry pal.
OK,... AFAIK...... If you have flashed ClockworkRecovery 3, the only ROMs that will work are the 2.3 ROMs,... If you are trying to boot up a 2.2 ROM, it is likely to bootloop.
So boot back into recovery, full wipes, then flash a 2.3 ROM,... If that is what you were planning to do.
If you want to keep your 2.2 ROM on,... flash back to an older Clockwork Recovery,... then try to boot? If you get boot loops, try wiping cache and try again. If it still fails I would just do a fresh flash of your ROM again,... Remember full wipes 1st.

Can you boot into Hboot screen (phone off then volume-down + power)? If yes try to select recovery from the Hboot screen, it should reboot into recovery, if it doesn't and something is wrong with your recovery, Do you have an Eng. Hboot? , if yes do you have Andriod SDK set up and fastboot? If yes, boot into Hboot, select fastboot from the options, then plug in your usb. Once your device is recognized by fastboot:
Code:
fastboot devices
should return a serial number + "fastboot"
then reflash ClockWorkMod Recovery 2.5.1.3( you can download it from here:http://www.koushikdutta.com/2010/02/clockwork-recovery-image.html then place the ClockWorkMod Recovery 2.5.1.3( make sure its named recovery.img) into the tools folder in AndriodSDk where Fastboot is located, then run the command :
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot
once rebooted your probably gonna be stuck at the HTC screen again, pull the battery, then Volume-down+ power back into Hboot, then select recovery from Hboot screen and it sholud reboot into ClockworkMod recovery, then reflash the rom of your choice.
thanks but i already fixed it by pressing sim lock and i have no idea why that worked and i should probably set up adb now right?

Semi-Bricked myTouch 4G

Alright I have a semi-bricked mytouch 4G. (a friend's phone) I followed the gfree guide and did the hboot flash and now I'm in a boot loop. I have the original boot screen loaded and I can get to the recovery menu. S is off so the phone is rooted. How do I get CWM on the phone so I can install a new ROM and kernel so I can unbrick this thing. With my verizon fascinate I have options to go from where I am stuck (Odin and .md5 files). Where do I go from here? Can somone give me a step by step without pointing me to a different forum? I have searched for more than a couple of hours and this is where I have found myself.
Did you go into a bootloop because of the rooting process? What did you do once you rooted the phone? Did you download ROM Manager? Need a lot more info about what was done in order to help you. You can flash cwr through adb, but before we get there I think you should break down exactly what happened post-root.

I beleive it was after rooting. I followed the directions for gfree rooting exactly (of at least so I think, however, we can see that is apparently wrong). Rebooted the phone to check that S-off and then was stuck at a boot loop with the my touch 4g boot screen.

Since you have the engineering Hboot. this isn't that big of a problem, but you do need the ADB drivers at the bare minimum... use the blue link in my signature to get those up and running if you don't already.
first things first you need a recovery image.
Download this recovery image Download from here
Once you download it store the image only in the tools folder of your SDK or your c:\adb folder if you used True_blues method
now boot into your Hboot screen and plug the phone into the computer
go to your CMD prompt and type
Code:
fastboot devices
it should show you the serial number of the phone
if it does
then change your drive to the tools folder... basically where ever you store that image....
then type
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
it should show you something like
Code:
sending 'recovery' (3426 KB)... OKAY [ 1.172s]
writing 'recovery'... OKAY [ 0.797s]
finished. total time: 1.969s
if it does unplug the phone and use the volume keys to navigate to the reboot recovery option
once you are their you can flash any ROM you want.
Make sure to update the recovery image to 3.0.2.x once you are up and running.

Select recovery from the HBoot menu. That should reboot the phone into recovery. Once you are their select mount, then USB and store the ROM and the Gapps on the SDcard
Wipe the phone
select flash .zip from SDcard
Select the option for you to pick the .zip
flash the ROM
Flash the Gapps

Well, I was rooted and had been running the leaked 2.3 stock rom. Decided I wanted to try CM7...and flashed it and it appeared to flash okay b/c I was able to boot up, but I couldn't get gapps to install, so I ended up trying to restore from my backup, and that failed, and I couldn't get back to CM recovery. So, I'm stuck in a constant boot loop.

Please help :(

Ok you're confusing me now. What is it you're trying to do? Are you trying to flash recovery on the device or flash something else. Because what ever you're going to do, you have to flash recovery from rom maneger first. So if you have not done that yet, do that first.
Just boot into the device, open rom manager and click on flash clockwork recovery and follow the on screen instructions.

Don't reboot into recovery from rom manager. Turn off the device and boot into bootloader by pressing volume down then power button and hold till the device turns on. The with the volume button go down to recovery and press the power button to go into recovery. Once you do that come back and tell us what color the text is in recovery.
EDIT: actually, asking you to tell us what color rocovery is was a bad idea. Now that I thought bout it the stock rovery and newest almost look the same color.
Better yet boot into hboot by pressing vol down and power. Once you're in hboot make sure it says s-off right on top. I shouldve asked this from the biginning. If you had a s-off.

I think you done the ClockworkMod recovery flashing incorrectly or the flashing through rom manager didn't work for you.
Try via terminal emulator or via fastboot . This methods may work

Cannot Enter Recovery (CWM)

Hi,
I unlocked my bootloader today and I just flashed the latest CWM Recovery via Fastboot.
However, when I try to enter Android Recovery I get the Android with the white triangle and exclamation point.
I saw a similar thread but did not see a resolution. Do I need to flash the Gingerbread boot.img via Fastboot?
Also, I read you have to delete a file somewhere or else the default recovery restores itself every reboot? I did not delete any such file, and when I unlocked my bootloader, it obviously wiped my data.
Any ideas how I can get into recovery and flash me a dang ROM?

Okay, I tried porting a rom to the mytouch and it wouldnt boot after full wipe. So I said okay and tried wipeing it once more to install synthetics_aospX back on it. It wouldnt format the system and gave me an error(4EXT RECOVERY; also I didnt write the error code thing down). Then it tried to wipe data and just hung for like 20 minutes and I pulled the battery. Now everytime I try to boot up it just goes to a black screen and flashes on and off. I cant boot into bootloader or recovery. Any help would be appriciated! Also I am s-off and rooted with eng. bootloader.
If you can get into the bootloader you can try either flashing a PD15IMG.zip or, alternatively, reflash your recovery through fastboot and try again.
fastboot flash recovery recovery_name.img
Also, if you have a nandroid you can pull the img files and flash them through fastboot.

If holding down volume down while booting does not lead you to the bootloader, you're done. It's over. It sounds like you have corrupted the bootloader. You didn't replace the updater.script with one from our device, did you?
