Could somebody possibly give me instructions to install this on the G3 please.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822523
I have been trying all day but Tw3oLauncher.apk(or whatever) Keeps recreating it's self.
Thanks.

YOU NEED TO HAVE ROOTED PHONE.I JUST FOUND THIS I HAVENT TRY IT SO IM NOT RESPONSE FOR BRICKING YOUR PHONE
Use root explorer(you can find it on Market)
1. In /system/app, rename the default TouchWiz30Launcher.apk and TouchWiz30Launcher.odex (if applicable) to TouchWiz30Launcher.apk.bak and TouchWiz30Launcher.odex.bak.
2. Copy this new TouchWiz30Launcher.apk into /system/app.
3. Set permissions of the new TouchWiz30Launcher.apk to rw-r--r--.
I thing that touchWiz launcher on our phone is different (in name)

id suggest having another launcher on the phone while doing this, just in case.

It's because that's treated like a system app. You either have to push it with adb or move it with root explorer and give the application root priveleges. I made a guide on how to reinstall APKs that are system level apks.

Hello i have the kyrollos 3.1 editon and cant install allshare.
Can somewone tell me how to install??
Thanks a lot

get the deodexed apps of ur original firmware
search for the allshare apk file
root ur phone
get root explorer or any other root enabled file explorer
copy the .apk file to system/app and reboot ur phone
Kyrillos v4 final:
I tried to install the dlna.apk with Easy Installer (message: not installed). Then I tried to move the apk with File Expert directly into the system/app folder where all other apk where. It did tell me that it is handling this copy but nothing appeared in this folder...
Tried it again with File Manager but he wouldn't let me Paste the file into the folder...
What next? Any ideas?
Thanks
did u enable R\W mode???
good question. I just realized that the folder is still on read-only.
I tried to use terminal emulator and type "chmod 755 ./system/" to change the rights but I got "unable to chmod system. read-only file system"...
So what did I miss?
use the built in switcher in root explorer or other file managers( e-strongs or astro) i know both have r\w toggle
or goto data\app and paste it there
u need to manually change permissions for each folder
So with root explorer I just go to the folder and change the rights into r/w?
If I understood correctly I need to change the rights first in system then in app, right?
Root Explorer rocks
I managed to change the rights (with "Mount R/W") andthis changed the rights also for the subfolders. Then I pasted the dlna.apk file into the app folder. Then I changed the rights back to r/o.
After reboot it took some time to get everything up again, and all my apps where again unsorted on the different screens.
The file is still in the folder but no allshare application in my programs....
So I copied the file into the data/app folder...
Reboot (didn't take a long time) still no app there...
What now?
Maybe someone knows another app from the market which can do the same thing, also for Samsung and other brands?
Thanks
did u get the deodexed apps from JPM rom or any other
& what do u allshare for???
I downloaded the dlna.apk from the internet and tried to install it with easy installer. I'm not sure whether it is from JPM How can I find out?
I want to use allshare with a Samsung TV.
Having flashed Kyrillos ROM.
Was that the question?
try imediashare or samsung remote
free from market
Download system app+framework file from kyrillos rom post n copy dlna file to system/app using root explorer!

Help! No Browser!

I was (like an idiot) trying to edit the browser icon by using root explorer & APK Manager
When I went to implement what I had done in APK manager into root explorer I replaced my browser.apk app and aparently what I had done didnt work
I made a backup of Browser.apk and I even tar'd it but I cant figure out how to get the browser back - when I click install it says "installation was not complete"
Extract the backup then use root explore to copy backup to /system/app then set correct permission on
browser.apk rw-r--r--.... Reboot see if that helps..
That's exactly what I did except for the reboot, thanks for the suggestions (trying it right now)
It worked Thanks
Any idea on how to change some of the icons easily without getting a launcher? I want the icons like on the Droid Bionic

[Q] Updating vending.apk on Nook Simple Touch rooted via SalsichaNooter 0.4

Greetings all. The rooting with SalsichaNooter 0.4 went well. One thing I didn't understand, however, was how to replace the Vending.apk on with Nook with the new one supplied.
The relevant link is
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351719
Could someone explain how I do this? So far, I have copied the new file to the /media folder. That is as far as I've gotten.
Thanks.
Well, you must replace the Vending.apk in data/app. Use Root Explorer
Root Explorer
Thanks, Platinum_Lotus. I am wondering, though, why, with my paid version of Astro, I can't seem to do what you suggest. I can definitely copy the new Vending; I just can't paste it, overwriting what is already in apps.
Is there some permissions issue that I need to address? Or will RE bypass permissions somehow?

Perhaps install the apk using Astro (if you can) or ES File explorer / ADB. If it says install blocked, you need to open Nook Color Tools and uncheck then check the box.
Well, I have tried. I noticed that the permissions on the app folder looked Linux-like (I *am* a newbie), and eventually figured out how to change permissions (it seems, only temporarily) so that I could copy the new vending.apk to the app folder. Before that, I renamed the old vending app.
So now, I have no access to the Google Marketplace whatsoever. And, the permissions have reverted to read-only. I do not understand.
I wish one of the heavier hitters here could help me out. I'm about ready just to quit.
(Note: I got back into the Nook and just used Linux commands to delete the new Vending & rename the old one to Vending. Now I have the crippled Android Market.)

Deleted Google Talk.

So I was reading on how to change my name on Google Talk and someone suggested removing the app and installing it again.
After I used a ROM Toolbox Pro to uninstall talk, downloaded an apk to install it again and its not working !
Sorry for being a noob, but how do I get it back?

download es file ex file explorer and move it with root to /system/app, then it should install itself....
Maybe you could attach it on your post here (the apk) cause u need it

One additional step, when you move the APK to /system/app make sure that you set the permissions properly. System apps need to be rw-r--r-- (644).
And reboot after setting the permissions. The app should be there.
can't acces the gtalk
after all process
can't login

Change.?
What do u want to change...
Do u just want to replace it...
Or edit it.....
** rooting is new for me,
nd i am a noob to root....**
Install apk through system app installer (download from play store) to replace system apps
If you get force closes if you try to replace them then place your new apk in a cwm flashable zip & flash it in Cwm to replace files
Copy the apks into the folder system/app (which is what flashing does) and reboot
PHONE SLOW CLICK ME?

I wouldn't recommend doing it that way - you may get force closes and you have to manually set the permissions yourself
System app installer does it all for you
For apps that cannot be replaced easily because they are in use the best way is to create a flashable zip to replace them in cwm
Marcus system app installer does what I just said also so does flashing I.e if he gets force closes my way he will still get them your way all he needs to do after is reboot I've done this many times (is probably y I forgot to say change permissions) and he asked how to do it using root explorer
Anyways OP I forgot to tell u this but u need to change permissions of the app u copy to rw-r--r just hold down on an app and select change permissions

You can use System App Installer, or if you really want to "change" them by yourself after you replace the *.apk you have to set permissions like this rw-r--r--, OR you can just delete the apps that you don't want from the theme's zip and flash it.
Sorry for my English
