Hi, folks!
I have an inquiry about long MMI command in my Aria using CM7 RC2 [Cyanogen].
Before that I was running Liberated FR008 and it works like a charm, but now, on CM7 it just gives a dialog box containg "Connection problem or invalid MMI code".
I tried this MMI: *202*0555505050#
Also had tried *+202#0555505050# with still no result.
What should I do to fix MMI request problem?
Thanks for cooperation.
You get a wifi error cause you're using the wrong version of his kernel with a nightly. Download the rom ladios put out of cm7 then use drownings 6-7 kernel.
Signatures are fancy.

his kernel works fine with the later nightlies (I'm running nightly 30 with the 6-7 kernel and wifi works like a dream). The problem is that he's running rc2, which is wifi incompatible with the newer kernels because it doesnt have the update wifi drivers that were implemented in the later nightlies.
To OP:
If you want to use drowningchilds kernel with rc2 you will need to download one of his earlier kernels. He has a link for the older ones in the original post of his kernel thread. Otherwise you will need to upgrade to a newer nightly (or to ladios build).
Well that what i meant nightly as in rc2
Signatures are fancy.
BTW, problem with MMI requests in RC2 is still actual (The same problem in CM6, but everythin' is OK in FR008).

Hi guys,
Just have a quick question- wondering if anyone is running into the same problem. I just installed Cyanogen 7 rc1, and it is force closing between the load screen and the welcome screen (for the first time).
I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but any help would be great.
Thanks
Based off what I've read in the development threads, the RC does't seem to be too much of an RC. I'd restore and wait.
you have to flash RC1 over a nightly build.

Yep! Its was a known issue with the first build of RC1. Something was botched. I recommend you either flash RC1 over nightly build #38, or you just flash nightly build #39 (which already includes fixes that were left out of RC1).
Cheers!
Im about to install Manual Nooter on my SD card and begin to hack. Assuming everything goes correctly with that.....what ROM should i put on it after?
I hear CM7..now CM7.02 i think is the newest, is supposedly the best and fastest.
I know theres the froyo one as well.
Anyone have any ideas especially if your running one you like, let me know please. Thanks!!

My vote would be for CM7 and the OC kernel. I played around with a bunch of the options and have settled on this as my base.
But it's so easy to try different things I would have to suggest that you try anything that catches your fancy, once you have a good backup of the current base configuration.

I get the CM7 builds here:
http://mirror.cyanogenmod.com/?device=encore&type=nightly
(both the stable and nightly builds can be found at that link)
and the OC kernels here:

Have fun.

The nightly experimental builds are just that, experimental. They may blow up, or not work properly with certain apps, or conflict with the OC kernel. The stable builds are the "officially supported" builds.
What I currently have is a stable 7.02 configuration running with the 4-24 OC kernel and a bunch of installed apps that all work right in this setup. I back it up to my SD card using the"Backup Current ROM" option in ROM Manager (I bought the premium version).
If I update to a nightly I can always go back to that backup if I screw something up. I've only screwed it up that badly once so far

I have everything set up and working correctly (yayayayay!).....but im haveing trouble loading a kernel. Apparently i need an updated CWM on my sd card since i have 3.0.0.5, which is super outdated i think. The 4/24 kernel dowloads and install correctly, but it doesnt affect anything and i can still only OC to 925 through CM7 settings. Soooo im trying to look for the newest CWM so i can dowload and put it on my SD card

You should be able to flash the current version of CWM from the ROM Manager application.
So...I haven't really followed CM7 much, but I see that there is a cm7.1 now. What exactly is that vs the CM7 nightlies? Can I use dalingrin's OC kernel (or any other OC kernel) on CM7.1? Can I even put CM7.1 on my nook (as in will it work on it, not how to do it)? Would I want to put it on, or should I just run nightlies?
thanks in advance for the help...cm7 is a big unknown to me, obviously
For the Nook Color, the current 7.1 release is a RC or Release Candidate which falls between nightly and stable. Several nightlies have now followed, and I believe those nightlies are now also 7.1.
Yes, you can load 7.1RC on the Nook Color and it runs very well; yes you can use Dalingrin's OC kernel, and you can do this all off a uSd which is all what I am doing.
I could only find RC1 (is that the latest anyway) and only 7.0 nightlies. Is there a link to updated 7.1 anywhere?
This weekend I finally wiped my Phiremod 6.3 and installed CM7.1 RC1 and Dalgrin's 6/30/11 kernel. It's been super sweet thus far.
I never cease to be amazed at how great a tablet this is.
I'm confused about how to install the OC kernel on SD. I'll do some searching in the interim, but if you have a link off the top of your head, please share.
Starting to get very intrigued by CM7. The earlier run on what was supposed to be a class 6 sucked compared to a trusty ol' class 4 sandisk...
Actually, I think I get the OC thing (recovery mode, named update, etc). But now I have a different problem. I tried 7.1 and after installing market I can't search for anything. Any time I try any of the search icons or menu, nothing happens. Any thoughts there from anyone?
Now I'm getting confused. Was running RC1 and installed nightly121 over it, clearing dalvik and cache...according to my thinking I've got 2.34 installed with updates from the nightly..correct?

CHeck the version in 'about tablet'. When I did nightly 128, it said it was still cm7.0. Or maybe I read it wrong. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can answer...

Hi everyone.
I´m using right now CM7 by Quarkx (last nightly), I was thinking about switch to CM9 but I've found a post from user skeevy420 who mentions CM7 Kang. Can anyone tell me what version is this, advantages over Quark's version and installation procedure.
If anyone can give the links to the latest version of this rom and gapps working for this one that would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

You can find skeevy's cm7 kang here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1755200
I've been using it as my daily use rom and I get over 24 hours without charging. (just a guess because I charge it overnight when it's still at 40%)
You can find latest gapps by searching on Google.
He's only put out one version of the cm7 kang and it's super stable.
My suggestion is to keep using cm7 until cm10 is stable, if you're just looking for a day to day rom. Welcome to Bravo.
This has been a problem for me for quiet some time but never got the chance to ask.
I've had the invalid battery ever since I flashed a stock sbf file and been flashing cm 9 and cm 10, everything is working perfectly fine right now on cm 10 but yeh the problem is the invalid battery.
I even bought 2 new battery and a battery charger, the only way to keep my phone running is to keep switching battery.
Is there a way to fix the invalid battery without dismantling my phone??

Good news, after flashing CH kernel (tezet version), charging work well, and I can restart phone.
Previously, I used kernel included in MIUI rom, I thinked it was GB kernel, but maybe it was a Froyo kernel.
Now question is what is the difference between CH and EU kernel ?
I use CH kernel in France, and it seems work correctly

From what i've gathered, mostly, the EU and CH GB kernels are quite close, except the CH kernel is supposed to have the multitouch bug fixed (ie : you shouldn't have occurences of the screen "acting up" like you are runnning 52436437437 fingers on it in all directions while you aren't touching the screen).
There is probably a few other differences, but i never found out a list of those.
