Recently when I have been trying to backup my home screens on Launcher Pro I get an error message. "An error occurred while trying to create the backup. Please make sure the SD card is available." My SD card is working I can go on it just fine and my phone reads it. Does anyone know a way to fix this problem?
Thanks.
First try clearing data for it.
Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Launcher Pro > Clear Data
If that doesn't work, you'll probably have to remove and reinstall. Its probably data corruption.
Have you checked how much free space is left on your sdcard?

well, actually im quite experienced in flashing, bricking and restoring back ;P my prophet, but.. i really blank about "inside" things..
usually in the camera save to, i used to have 3 options, which were main memory, network (i don't know where it came from but i hope its the ext rom which detected as a storage too) and storage card, but now the storage card option is gone.. so now i only could save camera pictures to main memory, and have to move them manually to storage card..
anybody know how to restore it back or there's a tweak on reg or sumthin?
i've restart, soft reset, plug out and back in the storage card.. but i dont want to hard reset..
its not the storage card, my sd is fine on other ppc or card reader.. the option still gone even i put a brand new sd card..
Try disable Bluetooth Explorer if you got that activated. Options > Connections > Bluetooth > FTP
thx 4 answer, but i dont have it in this rom.. only bluetooth and no FTP thingy.. i seldom activate bluetooth btw.. any other suggestion?
you have to disable network folder at : Settings > Connection > Network Plugin > and uncheck "Enable Network Foler"
That's it!!
because i have same problem too..
i am having the problem with my market. When i first turn my phone on it will allow me to download them from the market but then it will stop and say Insufficient Storage Available then wont let me download any apps. I have enough space on my sd card. Is there any way to fix this from command??

i have 119 MB left
go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications. Go to Market and uninstall updates and clear cache. Then from the same menu, uninstall the app that isn't working, if it is currently installed.

Hello,
Few hours ago, I managed to fix the grey "Move to SD" problem in froyo by using the setInstallLocation 2 solution, after doing that, I moved all my applications to the SD card. Then I did a wipe factory reset to my device.
When turning on the phone, the SD card apps were gone, but they are still in my SD card "secure" folder, files with .asec extension.
They don't exist in my phone, but when turning on the usb storage, i can see them in my SD card.
Has this happened to anyone?? ty very much/1
I don't have much experience with this option, but I would say that a wipe is a wipe and the associated file on the sdcard is only a link to the put the application on the sdcard not the full application.
At best it would keep the option when you re-download that application from the market.
If so, where the real application is? what's the point of "moving the SD" if the application is still stored on the phone?
And it can't be a link because of the size of the files, it's really near the size of the application. I'm convinced it is the application, but wondering why I can't use or find them.
it's pissing me off, i had plenty of games and useful apps
yes, the "registry" of installed apps is gone with the wipe, so android does not know how to use those files on the sd card. You will have to nandroid/titanium restore or reinstall.
Aww.. lucky i got the saved games on the sd...
I got an unrelated question:
I found that the apn settings are saved under the file apns-conf.xml.
I downloaded the file with the settings i need, pushed it to system/etc and still i don't get the apn settings. tried rebooting the phone, and wonders why i still don't get the apns?
If you have a backup, restore it, move all your apps back to phone, then wipe, flash the new rom and move them back to SD.
All problems solved, ty
hey, i'm selling my x10 soon and i would like some tips on the preparation. thanks for the help. hopefully this would also be useful for future sellers.
1.) what should i do to save the important data (like pictures, videos, text, contacts).
2.) i would also like to save the apps if possible cause my next phone would most likely be another android .
3.) and how do restore to its factory state (erase all my info, data)?
connect it to your pc, move all your files that you want to the SD card - or to your pc if you want to sell with the SD still installed.
if you have a rooted phone, search for all your .apk files and copy to sd/pc also.
sure fire way to ensure phone is crisp and clean is to flash it back to original spec.
might not be the easiest way, but it will ensure that NO data is left behind!!
anymore tips?
If the phone is rooted I'd recommend Titanium Backup (http://matrixrewriter.com/android/). You can take a backup of all apps, settings, contacts, etc and then selectively restore to the new phone.
You still need to backup your SD card as mrtim123 said.
if use mybackup to backup the apps,, do i still need to copy all the apk files from my phone to my pc? do i simply
1 From the Home screen, tap the applications bar.
2 Tap Settings > SD card & phone storage > Factory data reset > Reset phone.
3 Enter your screen unlock pattern.
4 Tap Erase everything.
to delete everything and restore it back to factory settings?
[Q] The Play Store gives me this error message when I try to install certain apps: "Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card." What can I do to install those apps?
[A] *After receiving the error message*
1) Go to your phone's Settings > Storage
2) Unmount SD Card (your external SD card)
3) Download/install from the app(s) from the Store again
4) Go back to Settings > Storage - then Mount your SD card again (or reboot)
5) Enjoy the app(s)
Background: I thought I was encountering some compatibility issue because the Note 3 was newly released and I had just acquired mine. I had also received the error when trying to update one of my apps. It is still not clear to me why it occurred and this is the only solution that fixed it for me.
Could be SD going bad, check LOST.DIR for any files, if anything there, it is already getting corrupted.
Checked, nothing in LOST.DIR

Sounds to me like a ROM problem. I started experiencing that problem today when I install NV ROM for M8
The play store is an annoying piece of ******. I can install everything except Zooper Pro (RPC:S-3 error). Thus forcing me to use a cracked apk, simply because nothing else works!
Anyway, as for your errors. Tried deleting the data and cache on the Play Store and Google Play Services? Do you have enough space available?
sollution 2
here is some more info
it seems like it should be easy to fix fo google :/

Same problem. I've noticed the problem isn't the sd card, because i've changed it and could not install certain apps anyway.
I guess it's a rom problem. I'm on Blekota S5 v10 now, that's causing this issue. Yesterday I've flashed my rom stock backup, and every thing was ok.
Although if you are rooted first
1.)Unmount SD Card
2.)Download Link2SD it will requires root get it on play store for free
3.)Download your favorite app that get some errors
4.)Mount SD Card
5.)Put the app from external to SD using Link2SD
6.)Profit
Works
Thanks for the answer!
Just Backup and Format

Hi There... The problem with Unmounting and Mounting the SD Card is that since I have my music saved on my SD Card I have to choose a New Ringtone and all my Alarm tones all over again each time I do that... So I backed up all my Music to my Phones Memory, Formatted the SD Card and Voila... Now I don't have to keep Unmounting and Mounting the SD Card every time I want to update an App... more so I only had to go through the hassle of choosing the music once after the format... Hope this helps
