Depends on what your friend wants to do. Since Does he wants to root his G1 and get the custom ROM or, just going back to the original?

He actually wants to root n flash new roms but if get back stock is also ok

If you are going to root your friend phone and flash it with the custom ROM.
Follow the instruction in the link below:

Back to stock ROM?

Hey guys,
Okay so at moment I'm running a ROM from XDA but if I can I would like to return to stock ROM that came with my phone and get it back to normle, is this possible and if yes is there any guides how to do it?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I'm assuming you have an Ace model, you go here (http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Ace) and find the one that matches yours, download and run the .exe - It will tell you all you need to do.
Hey okay I gone to link, I want the lastest update there, my phone is HTC desire Hd I don't know which ROM it is though. Also these roms there full stock ones that ship with phone?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Yes. Thats why it's called Shipped ROMs. It's just different versions.
Right so if I install one of these stock roms my phone will still be rooted and stuff wouldn't it? So it wouldn't be in the orginal state

They return to stock completely, no root. I don't know if it sets R-ON, but I'd assume so.

Hi,
I have to go back to the stock rom, too. Thats because I killed my Headphone Jack and want it to send it to HTC for warranty.
Is this .exe settig everything back to stock settings (delete ClockworkModRecovery, unroot the phone, installing standard Radio and set Radio s-On and ENG s-ON) ?
I found out, that i orginally had 1.32.405.6 BB 12.28b.60.14eU_26.03.02.26_M installed, but the site with the link above has only RUU_Ace_HTC_WWE_1.32.405.6_Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26_M_release_155891_sig
ned.exe to download.
Is there any Difference, or is it visible for HTC?
1st I Had this Baseband in my DHD with Remix 3d Rom
12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26_M
So i downloaded ( RUU_Ace_HTC_WWE_1.32.405.6_Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26_M_release_155891_signed.exe ) and Run The Exe and flashed it back to 2.2 Froyo.. It all Went Fine and it boot up Fine too...
After that i downloaded ( RUU_Ace_Gingerbread_S_HTC_WWE_2.50.405.2_Radio_12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2_release_199042_signed.exe )
and flashed it again and Now in Stock 2.3.3 Gingerbread ROM.. But The Sense is 2.1 only Not 3.0..
Waiting for the Sense Update...

As far as I know, so far Sense 3.0 only ships with the HTC Sensation. Sense 2.1 is the correct version for your stock HTC DHD Rom, you shouldn't worry
So this back to stock ROM, does this return everything back to normle so un roots, radio on. All that?

[Q] how to flash stock rom without loosing root?

I have an old Tmobile G1 rooted that I would like to flash a stock rom 1.6 without loosing root. anyone Knows hot to do this?
What do you mean with "without loosing root"?
Without loosing custom recovery / installed SPL or without loosing the "root" functionality within the rom?
2nd will be a bit difficult, because it's no longer "stock", but there are some roms from Enomther which are going in that directions.
1st should be more easy (just an idea, I didn't try yet): Take the signed-kila-xxx.zip (full update release to 1.6), unzip, remove the radio, spl, recovery from it, modify the update-script, repack and sign (if you want to flash with Amon RA).

i have a copy of a generic stock rom made for rooted devices... i just never use it, was kinda just a rom with a root guide to have untill you install your own custom rom... but here's a thought
1. there are plenty of roms that are fully functional and much better, faster, and smoother than the stock 1.6 G1
2. can use the generic rom i mentioned, but again im not sure how it's functionality is compared to stock.
3. Unroot the device and flash stock 1.6
i don't have links right now but send me a PM on which one you want to do and ill get them for you..

in need of a good htc evo 4g stock rom

ive been searching for a good htc evo 4g stock rom so i can root my phone. but guess im bad luck or something and everytime when i run a stock ruu exe it would give me an error stating that i need a complete ruu file. do anyone know where i can find this? ive downloaded at least 5 differernt stock rom exe files and none of them would work! thx
Do you mean stock as in not rooted or stock as rooted, but unchanged?
Edit: BTW, this should go in Q&A if not general.
This isn't the right thread...but try Tommy's classic rom...

What's wrong with your current stock ROM? It should be easy to root what ever stock ROM you currently have on your device with revolutionary S-OFF method.
Firstly you need to do some reading on how to root your phone using either the unrevoked or revolutionary method to then be able to use Custom ROMs. Also, keep in mind that the development thread is only for posting developed work; this thread belongs in the Q&A section instead.
well its my first post so give me a break ok? well i was trying to unroot it with unrevoked but i got a error telling me that my firmware was to up to date. so my plan was to download a older shipped rom so i can unroot it but i guess the file that i have was bad so now im stuck on the main screen with "triangles on all 4 corners and htc logo on the center. i cannot get the phone to bootloader as well.
Are you trying to root or unroot you have said both double check before you send your reply so we have accurate information to help you I don't know what you're trying to do from your posts

stock rom download link

trying to restore my phone to stock so I can sell it on craigslist, anybody have a download link for a stock sense based rom? seems like all the links are no longer available.
thanks
If you are trying to unroot, it will depend on your bootloader version and whether or not your phone is S-OFF or S-ON.

Interesting on lg g2, need some advice

Hi, guys,
I am a disappointed owner of HTC One with its "ultra purple" feature.
I am looking for replacement, this one seems good enough.
But I don't want to fall into the same hole again, so I need some advice about this phone
1) how is lg's service based on your experience ?
2) how easy this phone to root, installing custom rom and get back to stock rom
( if necessary) ? HTC has ruu, cid, s-off, etc, I found it not easy for newbie like me
Thanks in advance.

Its very easy to root and installing custom recovery and rom. After recovery is installed, you can make a back up of the rom and restore it after to its original state,in case something goes wrong,or just want to revert back from any other rom.Thats what i did.
This phone is the easiest phone I have ever rooted.
I have been working for 8 hours and the batter only went down 10 percent. Whatever lg did to this phone it is some good [email protected]@t. But looking forward tethering method since the phone came on T-Mobile 2 days ago

It's all easy and as expected the only advice is hurry up before Loki gets patched not that I know anything but we are all rightfully paranoid of OTA
