looking to load android.....rooted???? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Im new to all this...
Im looking for android for my hd2..tons of roms here?
what one is the most working and stable?
does the phone need to be rooted for all the apps?
if so how do I do that
thanks for all the help

welcome!
i would advise you to have a look around the forum first, use search button more often, chances are, your question has been answered already.
Anyway, follow this step-by-step giude and you'll be running android in no time at all and remember to read up and search before asking questions.

Yeah there is actually too much choice for the HD2 lol.
Most of the ROM's are stable now so you don't really have to look around for stable builds.
Use that guide if you don't know how to do anything with the HD2. Oh and all the android ROM's are already rooted.

If ur looking for the best SD android build, in my opinion and own experience, HD2one !!!!!
Fast, stable, less battery consumption and better reception! With no htc sense but great interface though!

HD2one? what you mean by that?

I have really enjoyed many of the 2.2.1 Sense roms. I am currently running a few of them and for the most part it seems like most of the newer roms (since about mid feb) have generally good battery life. And I have yet to find a rom that is not rooted.

clockwork allows you to install time from a zip file on card, backup and recover settings, and other features..It is not mandatory to have it installed for many ROMS which can be installed using Usb flash option on MAGLDR. on the HyperROM thread if I'm not mistaken there is a good tutorial.

[Q] Desire HD Roms

Hey guys, was just looking through the NAND section for android and couldn't find any ROMs which are desire HD based and do not use D2SD (apart from gauner's)
Was just wondering if I overlooked any?
Cheers
I suggest you to try the rafpignas' hd build with data2ext if you dont want to use the d2ext just dont create an ext partition.

if you're using a tmous than try rafdroid. It's an excellent rom, also for the EU HD2

you don't have to be an asshole about it, just report it and let the mods take care of it.

Overlooking would imply that you actually looked. Several say either Desire HD or DHD in their title.

Well i guess you should go with old sense (like desire, evo...) and not the new sense (desire HD or Z)
rafdroid light or gauners
Good place to start as a newbie.

Why would a lie about looking through 2 and half pages of a forum?
And I put the question in the development section because there was plenty of others in there and i figured since my question is specifically about NAND dev i'll post in there, If you don't have something constructive to reply you needn't bother.
Anyway, thanks to others, I'm using an EU HD2 which is why I'd need data2ext for most of the ROMs, and I hardly found any which don't use that.
I do like gauner's but for some reason my texts keep getting wiped off the phone without warning, i just open sms and they're gone..

Stable NAND with Sense, not sure about radio.

Hi guys, You helped me alot last time so i have came back here for some more help I still have the first NAND version on my HD2 and now it keeps loosing signal etc etc. It has been few months since the release so i think of upgrading it to a better NAND. Which one is the most stable with sense ? Also short booting time would be good. Ahh and i would like to upgrade radio aswell. I live in poland if that has anything to do with it
Thank You guys!
Hi there, your question is difficult to answer because peoples' tastes and experiences differ with the builds. What may be fine for someone may not be ideal for you. However, try Sergio's CoreDroid. That is what I use and like many others, I find it most stable and reliable out of the lot I have tried. What radio are you currently on?

Hi,
You seem to have the latest radio installed...
Before you go switching to a new ROM,make sure you backup your stuff, either with a NAND backup in CWM ,or something like TitaniumBackup app.
Then check here:

Doesn't look like he's rooted. You can't just install Sense 3.0 like you install Launcher Pro.

Nope, but give this one a try: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.moo.android.inputmethod.latin.free
I just rooted my phone today and flashed a rom with sense 3.0. It's pretty awesome, i think i am gonna stick with it for a while.
If you are not rooted, please do give it a try. Just make sure you make the appropriate backups.

Guys please search a bit on the forums. You can find the custom roms in the android development forum
Also yes sense 3 roms are gingerbread.
Now, since they are mostly.experimental, do some research first, get to know some android terms (like nandroid ,clockworkmod, fastboot, adb ,RUU etc) read all of the stickies and then go flashing a rom. What's important when flashing roms/radio/recoveries/bootloaders is to understand what you are doing before doing it. If you do it that way, there are high chances your device won't end as a decorative rock/brick on a bookshelf
Also this is not the correct section

Yes, the guy is correct. Reading up is very important.
You could try one with 3.0 mods, 3.0 lockscreen, weather etc.
The rom that i am on now is InsertCoin, stable build. Very stable, and it's on gingerbread. I highly recommend it.

Task29 clears everything meaning there wont be a rom on your phone then you go on from there, magldr 1.13 etc there are guides within the forum that will get you through it like this for example http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
EDIT: oh and if its an sd build windows is still there, so basically you wont see android until you boot it from your sd

Sent from my TripNiCE Pyramid using xda premium
Cant really recommend roms as what might be best for me might not be for you, so id just read around HERE and see what you might like test a few and if you install them correct you wont have a problem with half of them, some are still in beta so not stable for every day use, look at these 3, these have been up long so most possible the most stable Rom 1 Rom 2 Rom 3 Enjoy...

You, sir, are an idiot. The title of your thread itself points out that there are already thousands of these threads asking for the best ROM, yet you decide against all common sense to create a new thread? Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.
I recommend either American Android or tytung GB rom for sd
I think magldr is good depends what u have on nand

always one arsehole.
and to walidhazem, thanks. the amount of roms available is shocking. and none of the other 'which rom' are about stock roms. going to be keeping winmo 6.5 as my nand rom.
This is a lot like asking whats your favorite food, your bound to get many different answers because what i/we like on our ROMs you may not. Every person has their own likes and dislikes about the ROMs they choose so without trying a few your only going by what someone else likes and not really what you may find that you like.
You could check out this site. It lists about every ROM (android) for our hd2 and gives some basic info you can use to help narrow down your search. I sometimes look at the developers signature or others i find give a lot of benifit to the site because i feel they would have a better knowledge on whats a good, stable ROM. Hope you find this helpful.
