720p Recording Bounty - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Okay since there is still alot of people asking for 720p recording why dont we just start a bounty to get someone to get 720p recording working insted of a green and purple mesh. I am willing to make a donation (dollers, pounds, euros or whatever) to the purson or people who can do this.
Anybody else willing???

It's already being worked on and already been discussed. Just go to WP7 if you can't wait.

There is already a thread about 720p recording in the Dev forum as you well know.
So why start another one here. ?
Could you not start your bounty thread in the general section.
720p will be fixed eventually.
If it means that much to you, do as protomanez says, use WP7 or buy a native android phone that does it.
Regards.

Possibility to record videos in [email protected]

Hi folks,
I was wondering if there´s any possibility of making the Touch HD record videos in [email protected], just like Xperia X1.
As the Xperia is manufactured by HTC, the hardware should be very similar. So, has anyone thought about trying to make the video recording better?
It´s a shame that a pda like Touch HD, turned to media playing content (because of its huge screen), has a crappy video recording.
It´s weird because it can shoot 5 megapixel pics, but it "can´t" record VGA videos.
So, let´s try a way to discover how to make it record better videos.
Who´s with me?
ok, you can start, and all of us will see your progress
stupid post no thanks

kersh, your post was completely unnecessary. If my post is so stupid, just ignore it.
I believe I have the right of having a question and post here, I´m free to do so. And I expect that only helpful posts to be posted here from now on.
I think other people have already thought what I asked above and are also interested in the helpful answers. Please, do not polute this forum with this kind of posts.
Thanks.
Your post is not a question, is a "HEY I WANT 30FPS ON MY TOUCH HD, SO PEOPLE START TO WORK FOR ME" with a ;D for sharm.
This is a topic already discused on A LOT of threads, like video performance, or TV out, you are not the first persin that want this feature, and if you search, maybe found it.
In other side, if you want something, dont ask others to develop for you, try to help.
And by the way, it seems to be that 30fps video it is only possible on X1 processor "A" version.

Hey Kersh,
Many are interested in the answer to this question.
If you know that it has been raised before, please provide a link to it, and we will all thank you.
If you're unwilling to do so, please just ignore the post.
I have spent a lot of time already on the forum but do not have time to see every single posts. It is not unreasonable to post a question even if there is already answer elsewhere.
This forum is not just about getting answer all the time. It is also a form of social interaction. Some of us even enjoy giving help to anyone who needs it, although it is on topic where answers are already availalbe with a search.
If you do not like the topic, just skip it. Nobody points a gun on your head to read it, if you feel your precious time is wasted.
The camera hardware from the Xperia is very different then the cammera hardware from the HD... To my understanding This feauture is bound to the camera hardware, and not to the Quallcom part of the hardware.
Therefor you can't compare them, and its probably impossible to get [email protected] fps recording native on the Touch HD.
kersh, I do NOT have a Touch HD, I even haven´t got money for buying it I was just curious to know if that was possible.
Eaglesteve, thanks for the support.
Lord.Bachus, I didn´t know the camera hardware was different in both phones. Unfortunately.
rudeys
No need to chew the guy out in a rude way... we all were eeeediots once you know. Let me add to the idiocy... what if the capture was not compressed but more raw file - would this allow for better FPS?

720p video recording

What has to be done in order to enable 720p video recording on this device? The photosensor is obviously capable of 5mp out of the box.
The Nexus One was hacked to enable 720p... should be possible on this device as well maybe.
Let's get started!
Please post in the correct forum. Moved this to General since it asks a question and does not deal with Android development.
Actually it would involve modifying the android system which is a developers task... Hence why it was posted in the development section...whatever you're smarter I guess lol!

I'm interested in this as well. Obviously the quality wouldn't be great, but I guess it doesn't hurt to try.
Also, are you sure this shouldn't be in the development forum? If anything, attn1 would see it and maybe try to incorporate it into one of his ROMs...
As of right now, this is a discussion thread. Once the thread moves past discussion, meaning people start to post various lines of code that could be compiled and added to a phone to enable 720p recording (if its even possible), it can be moved back to Aria Development.
And I'm sure the chefs are reading the General and Theme/Apps section in addition to Development.
The only lacking feature of the aria is video recording. There has to be a way to get better video and audio on the camcorder.
Sent from my HTC Aria, dudes!
Lines of code:
Cam.enable720p = true
If cam$ = developer then
Move section.development
Else
Move notatreofan.trashcan
End if
Its official, this can now be moved to the development forum!

The Nexus One somewhat struggles to get decent FPS out of its 720 mod, and it's clocked at nearly double the speed of the Aria. I'd suspect it's not possible, but hey, some hacks are fun to do just to do them regardless of if they're really feasible or not.
How about just widescreen recording? It would be more feasible than HD but still san improvement.
Edit: by widescreen I mean 800x480

Maybe this would eventually work with the Aria :
[MOD] Enable fullscreen recording for Froyo

EDIT : different files @ Nexus One , NO GO, I guess !

Well I wouldn't really say he's smarter now.
Anyways I too wonder this. It would be great if something like this could be accomplished.

Nice try. I agree with the Moderator about threads in dev that are really discussion threads. There are a lot more that could be moved from there, but where to begin, there are so many.
Guys, please give the mod a break. I think he's doing a good job of organizing information in a way that makes it easier to find for everyone. No two people are going to make every call the same way, so even if you don't agree with everything he does, try to give him your support because of what he's trying to do, which is to organize information in a way that is most effective for those seeking it out. If we start doing this by committee, nothing will get done.
Don't worry, I do scan through these threads and this one caught my eye - here in general.
As for 720p vid on the Aria - all I can say is that it would not be an easy hack. On the Nexus one, it took hacked camera libs, a modified kernel and a core of people far more experienced that I am. Once we get basic services of CM6 working and stable on the Aria, we can look at some of the advanced features, like apps2sd and enhanced video recording, but right now, any time I have for Aria enhancements is going straight into CM6, and if you are going to find 720p vid, that's most likely where you'll eventually find it, as it's already part of CM6 in other devices. Once thing is for sure, it would really be a nice thing to have!

we did need a new kernel with multitouch to play games

as we all know ,fake multi touch can zoom in and zoom out pefect now.however i would like to play games with multitouch.can dev make a new kernel with a real multi touch as big x10? i hope it come soonly.
1. read around. they ARE making a custom kernel. there's no need to ask if they can and u hope it will be done soon. everyone hopes that too.
2. doixanh already explained that our screens only have ONE sensor, so even with custom kernel multitouch might not be possible.
3. almost everyone who games on the x8 want multitouch.
so... be patient. the devs have real life obligations which are more important than cracking our phones. they're not doing this as a job
P.S: there's a sticky for this topic. i believe this thread will get locked very soon

Youtube channel reviewing latest custom Roms...

Hey guys,
so here is may shameless Youtube promo thread. Yes I am a Newb, but have been flashing Roms for about a year now. I am starting this Youtube channel where I'm going to be doing brief reviews of the latest Roms. I'm going to try and make them as informative as possible and really want some feed back on how I can improve them. Not sure if this is considered promoting, but I'd like to get something going where people an see what they are getting on their HTC Evo before they flash it. I'm just starting out so forgive the quality of the video, but if all goes well, I plan to upgrade my cam and review apps as well as roms. Hope I don't get **** for this, but I really hope you guys check it out. The Youtube channel is youtube.com / tunainthebrine
Thanks guys!!

60fps video recording?

Hey guys. Thanks for all the hard work and effort you've put into creating custom ROMs, programs and other helpful tools for the community!
I'm just wondering if there's any way to get 60fps video recording on this phone at all. It's strange that the phone can do [email protected] but not [email protected] Or [email protected] (which even 2014 phones can do). I've tried some modded Moto Camera APKs but they only show 30fps or 120fps for 720p and 30fps for 1080p. :crying:
I've heard talk about 60fps recording through one of these APKs, but I'm not sure where to find specific info on it. I've tried my best looking around for threads but I'm still lost. Could anyone please help a noob like me out? I'm also really new to XDA.
Thanks!
EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see the sticky. Mods, please move this to the Q&A section if possible.
