Okay so I have the 8gb SD card that comes with the phone and most of the space is used up because I play games and store the game roms on the card. So my question is what sd cards are good quality?
Also since I play games on this phone and store the games on the sd card does it matter what Class the card is?

all the brands are good, look on newegg.com All the ones with no brands on it are crap
Thanks Im looking to get a 32Gb Ill go check out new egg to see what they have.
Sorry, I wasn't too descriptive. The brands I would buy are, SanDisk, Adata, Kingston, Samsung, Transcend, Lexar, Sony, PNY, Patriot, HP, Eye-Fi, Crucial,, Ridata and Dane-Elec.
I would mostly get the ones I left in bold letters. The one's I didn't list, do NOT buy them. P.S. I have a Ridata SD card in my camera, and it's still working. It has been a year and a half.
Here's the site http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=68&name=Flash-Memory
Thanks, I always wondered if those were good brands because all I saw was sandisks in the stores.
What about the Class of the cards?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
Class is basically the transfer speed between phone and memory card. Higher the number, the more "bandwidth" or speed you have. Heres the break through:
Class 1 = Standard Definition, such as MPEG2 and MPEG4
Class 4-6 = High Definition to FULL HD, HDTV video recording quality (Professional)
Class 10 = Full HD video recording, HD still consecutive shooting
So Class 10 is just ULTRA-FAST, but we won't be needing it probably for another 5 years or more. Class 6 is recommended in my opinion for use.
Cool, thanks again that was great information and it will help me a lot with my decision.

You recording in the dark?
Search, search, search.
This has been discussed many times before, the lag is normal when there isn't enough light available for the sensor.
Sometimes using flashlight can help.
Would upgrading the micro SD to a class 6 or higher help?
Which is the best or maximum class available in the market . I have less knowledge about cards so its better I purchase the best one.

SD Class is kind of irrelevant, you want to look for a fast read/write SD card and a good price of course. I myself am looking for a 32GB card and I found a really nice SD card but here nobody has one it stock, Kingston SDHC Class 6 Ultimate 133x 32GB.
But of course the card you want will depend on how much you want to spend, you can get SD cards that have really high read/write speed but dang are they expensive.
picked up a Patriot 16gb Class 10 today and noticed a bit of a difference when recording video and loading games. The card that comes with the phone is class 4 btw
I don't think that one would work, it needs to be a microSDHC.
I've searched everywhere and only found class4 cards.
If anyone knows of a 32GB class 6+ please tell.
I will be using it for storing/taking photos/movies and storing lots of gameloft HD games on it.
Which is better for my x10 with what I use it for? Which one will have better performance when it comes viewing photos and movies? Will the games load faster on the pny class 10?
Or will the difference in performance from two cards not noticeable from everyday use?
Thanks
Not card wise but company wise, sandisk makes better memory cards if not the best in my opinion. I have never had a problem with their cards.
Choose them if the memory card you need is made by them.

Read speeds can be significantly improved with the SD Speed Increase app developed by a xda member. Write speeds have no such cache fix available.
Unless you are writing very sequencally all cards are very slow. Technically a class 10 should be twice as fast with seq writes, but differences in materials and design sometimes reduce the difference.
A 32gb Kingston class 4 writes at 4.356 MB/s and a Lexar 32gb class 10 writes at 11.44 MB/s. But a Class 4 8gb Sony writes at 10.19MB/s! So what you actually get will be unknown until you have the cards.

Hi there, i just bought a generic 16gb class 10 microSDHC card off of ebay for £16, it was cheap so i was a bit skeptical, but i received it and did sum read write tests, i got upto 11meg write speed so atleast i know its not a fake, but its working well videos and pics are saving a lot quicker so im happy with it for the moment.
I have both cards right now, It was used for my sony camcorder.
How can I test both of them in my phone?
stan.s whats that app you are referring to? where can I find it?
THanks

I bought a PNY 16Gb Class 10 off PLAY for a bargain price (about £16) and am now in the process of returning it as I had to keep fixing errors using my PC.
I have had a lot of PNY flash cards for my camera with no problems, so hop this is just a one-off?
Hopefully the replacement card (a direct replacement) will be better.....

I'm using PNY 16gb class 10 for my x10....
is good.... no prb at all
It varies alot depending on brand but last time I checked android simply didnt take advantage from anything faster than class 4.. You can of course remove card plug it into pc card reader and fill it faster.. But android os is limited and wont take advantage of a class 10 card speed. Maybe on 2.3 or 3.0 ? But it doesnt on 2.1/2.2 at least

Tbh you probably won't notice much difference to your current one
I have class 2 and I replacing to class 6 or 10.
The games will work smoother ?

I would not go anywhere above a class 6. Class 10 are great for transferring of long or big files but have are slower if you are just doing small files for like playing games like Gameloft games where the files are read from the sdcard. I would also stick to preferably Sandisk. I have a 32gb class 4 sandisk but when I do sdcard test it comes back as 5mbps rather then the 4mbps. So in a nutshell, either a 16gb class or a 32gb class, those are the two options I would go with.
I want 16gb.
What class i need for smoother gaming? 6 or 4?

That's a sdhc card so no ; I have a kingston class 4 16gb and most games work smoothly ( the ones that dont are either due to hardware limitations or aren't optimised correctly)
If you're gonna upgrade, get a 32GB, waste of money to just get another 16.
Don't get a Class 10 those are made for digital cameras and video cameras. The Class 4 Sandisk 32GB is the known reliable good card for this phone. Be careful of fakes.
what's wrong with class 6?
I think class 6 is not the most compatible but works better of with 4 l, get the 32GB only a few more dosh.

Just ordered one for my brother and one for myself!
Just a heads-up: as the card class increases, sequential read/write gets faster, but random read/write gets slower. Which means that high class cards are great to take photos and videos but suck for general use, like listening to music, gaming and other uses get slower. You should get a class 4 or 6 for smartphones, never a class 10. Besides, most smartphones can't cap class 4/6 cards transfer rate.
Hope to have helped! You can check this info on Wikipédia or Google

I wouldn't say they suck for general use they have a faster transfer rate which most newer phones are capable of. There really isn't a reason not to got with a higher class unless your phone doesn't support the transfer rate. I personally use a class 10 on my Atrix HD and there is not issues with it. Just my 2 cents.
Haven't seen anything higher than 256, what card did you get? Any regrets?

First one I had was a Samsung Evo 128gb class 10, it failed after a year though I suspect it had problems from the get go.
Currently using SanDisk class 10 128gb and it runs a lot better.
It's important you get your cards from legit sources do not buy cheap cards (if it's too good to be true it probably is).
I got both my cards from Amazon just don't get them from 3rd party sellers. 128gb card should cost between 40 to 60 dollars (not 10 dollars).
You're also going to want to get a class 10 at least or higher if you can afford it to ensure optimal performance of your phone.
I'd get class 30 if you're into 4k video recording, class 10 good for 1080p and other multimedia files but would likely not be sufficient for 4k.
