hey i want to upgrade my SGS to custom rom but i dont have 3 button combo so i upgraded to froyo 2.2 officially can anybody help me how to do it?

Hi..i am new to this site but i am very impressed with the work goin around here..i have done almost everything with my p3400i i.e flashing,installing new rom's etc..but i could only find out few ROM's here like blackmetal rom,manila 2d integrated rom and i ahve used them,i know there are many but am unable to find rom's that are compatible with my p3400i,plz help me finiding those posts and provide me the links,thanx......
just go to gene upgrading section !! all rom der r compatible with gene ! but u gotta know whether ur gene is new or old!
However, before you flash any ROM, take a look at the ramersonw's stickey to determine if your device is New or Old.
and then read krazy's thread (stickey) and follow it word for word. Or else we will get have another brick .

I want to flash my rom . Iam using Samsung galaxy s in europe . I want to flash the original ROM i had before . I found this site http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm and there are many Roms . Can somebody give me a hand and explain is there a difference in the version . Which is the standart one ?
oo and my phone is broken i cant see the firmware that i was using :S
If you can't know the firmware you used, you won't be able to install this one...
Try the JPY, it's the new official firmware in europe

i cant do it from the htc.com web site

(i use that one and it is faster than 6.1 so start with it,although it is a bit old it is still far better than the others IMO....but hey if you survived with stock 6.1 rom for over a year....then you won't bother with this one being released on 17. November 2010.)
almost all new roms are "1.56" so read the guide for 1.56 roms, if you use anything else your screen will look cyan and all messed up,but don't worry you can prevent it by reading or cure it by flashing the device properly with corresponding uspl/hspl (1.56 in most cases)
you don't need to bother with understanding this above right now,when you rad the guide it will be crystal clear to you
uspl unlocks the device for just one flash
hspl unlocks it forever
if your device is still under warranty i advise you to go for uspl since you won't have to flash SPL (let's say "put the lock back on") to send it for repair (flashing cooked roms voids warranty)
read,learn and search before asking something again (i am 100% sure that all questions you might ask are already answered somewhere in the forums,and if you know how to use search you can find all the answers...if not click one of links in my signature) and if everything fails,ask your question in dedicated thread such as Q&A thread in general htc hd subforum or in the tutorial thread i pointed in first part of the post

reading is fundamental. i researched HTC phones months before i bought one(came from blackberry). after i got my DHD i stumbled across "rooting". so i did months of research before i rooted my phone. i still feel like im a noob because im still learning and finding new things out. my point is...you should do the research and not expect people to feed you the answers you are looking for. im not trying to be a ****. just shedding some enlightenment.

well i have experience in android , had 3 devices before but htc devices are a little diff . since my device is rooted , just needed some small steps to move around here

See point number 3 (last lines in the first post), to check if you have ClockWorkMod Recovery installed (you probably have). Do it anyway, to update to new version, if it's the case.
You will flash your roms through ClockWorkMod Recovery.
To reach it, shutdown your phone. Then hold the volume down key and press the ON button (top one). You're in bootloader mode. Choose recovery from the menu, using the volume keys and the On/Off button to confirm.
You will boot into ClockWorkMod Recovery. To install a rom, you would already have downloaded the file in the developer's thread and copy the zip file to the root of the sdcard. Don't mess with the zip.
From the ClockWorkMod Recovery menu, choose install zip from card.

About the RIL, you will only need it if the rom has Sense. No Sense roms don't need it.
And you need to match the RIL to the Radio version installed.

I suggest reading the threads and learning, each developer puts instructions in their thread on how to flash the rom, I also suggest if you have issues you ask within the thread of the rom
