Does anyone use Foursquare? It's not in the Android market on my Evo! I've even used the link off their website as well as their barcode. Does anyone know how to get this app on the Evo?
Found it fine on my Evo.
OTA updated.
Unrevoked rooted.
EDIT:
Senior Member!
What is Foursquare?
I only found a Foursquare churches but I don't think that was it.
I have it installed too on stock.

Yeah, I'm stock and it's definitely there. I use it when I'm sitting somewhere bored. It's kinda fun and addicting, you get little badges and points for checkin in places. I usually use it like I do Twitter though, to see what friends are up to.
here it is this though
http://www.mediafire.com/?m3t2dn3i211
i got it from a simple google search though so install at your own risk
EDIT: Incase you don't know: Download the .apk, transfer it to your SD, use a program like File Manager to locate the file, click it and chose open with Package Installer (if you dont have Unknown Sources checked it will direct you to check it)
Thanks guys. I actually found out that they have a google code website and the whole android app is open source... pretty cool. Anyways I got the APK installed off their google code page.
I seriously can not find it in the market. I'm running the OTA update with unrevoked.
Thanks booyakasha, I know my way around android but that is good instructions for anyone else who doesn't and stumbles across this thread.

Since I manually updated to DI18 protected apps are missing from the market. Is there anyway to fix this besides waiting?

Here is the thread on the Google Help forum. They monitor it pretty well. If everyone comments on the thread it will keep it towards the top of their list and they might fix it faster.

yea I noticed that there are about 3 apps that I can no longer access, although my buddy's captivate has no problem finding them.
This is still a HUGE ****ing problem. What the hell is going on? I've counted 6 apps I've tried to find in the market now but can't...
One of the people in the Google thread was saying they could now reach their desired protected app. Still no joy for me though (trying to download the ESPN Radio app and an app for my bank.) Very frustrating.
The whole marketplace access model seems kind of odd even though I kind of understand why it's there. But it seems there should be a better way to handle it, especially for larger partners/OEMs with a higher volume of updates. I haven't followed it closely enough, but I wonder if WP7's market will handle the process the same way. They've certainly thought through the overall OS update process much better (i.e., putting carrier/OEM software additions into a walled off silo.)
So what must be it...
I've been trying to figure out why I haven't been able to find Paypal or Blackboard Mobile Learn on the market for the last couple of days. I guess those fall under protected apps as well then?

No go for me either, no paypal, fandango, nothing.
This happened with the DI07 update.
Give it few days and you should see those protected app appear.
errrrrr.....this is really annoying...i just want one app and is the only one i can't find...
pure calendar
Seems to be working now (at least, I was able to find the ESPN radio app that wasn't available earlier.)
Yep fixed, I see my missing paid apps now
Working for me too. I hope they coordinate better next time.
Agreed. It's finally fixed.

new market update? does anyone have any idea if this can be implemented by end users, or whether it will need to be cooked into ROMs?

Just thought I'd chime in & report that they're apparently pushing the new market out already. I went to download some apps earlier & found the new market on my phone. It seems a lot faster than the old market.

Yes, mine was pushed onto my phone just now. The Market looks much nicer and is more informative than ever before.
I've installed on my hd2 with mdjay's revolution build but i can't get every app anymore like the official paypal app. I'm on vodafone netherlands. If I install marketenabler with the same vodafone settings in other builds just don't matter. (20404)

Mine too.
Think you just have to enable the accounts & sync background data and voila it gets updated unknowingly through data so wifi should not be a problem as well.
I've looked around and it seems I'm not the only one with this issue. For some reason I can only see paid apps and original Google apps in the My Apps section of the market. Does anyone know how to remedy this? Or if it even needs remedying? I'm just concerned that I won't be getting updates.

Actually it's more random than that. I see a couple that aren't paid. I also have a feeling that this issue is created on Google's end. First of all, because there's always something wrong with the market, but also because like the previous poster, I've also seen something similar before but this is lasting longer than normal. It shows apps I've already got as NOT being installed, apps I've purchased as only being purchased but not installed and tonnes of them missing altogether even though they're on my phone and running fine.
Where is it for Nexus 7 2013? Will it be in the factory build? Is it going to be available for download separately from the store?
I find it odd that with all of the push to eliminate fragmentation it's not included.

Google Experience Launcher was intended to be Nexus 5 specific. It will not be included in official Nexus 7 images.

Who cares what google search comes back with? Guessing/speculation/your mom talking about cats. The reason I posted here is because people who tend to know what they're doing come to xda for news/know-how.
Is the missing launcher really a bi-product of optimization and the always listening feature? Or is the GEL launcher going to be available on the store? Maybe you don't know but that doesn't mean that a developer or somebody else doesn't know.

Yeah. God forbid you should do a little research on your own. That's why everyone comes here, to spoon feed you information so you don't have to look it up yourself.
BTW: It was bing search. I thought it was quite witty to use bing to search for information about Google. I guess I'm not as funny as I thought I was.

Despite the reputation that xda has for people who know what they're talking about there's still you. Research would imply that there is information elsewhere that:
A. I care about.
B. exists.
4.4 for Nexus 7 2013 is a few hours old. I already said I don't care about speculation. Stop being an ass. The first thing I did was google this and when nothing was found I started a post. Did you do any research before you posted that link? Read the first four pages of results. Read the first 100 pages of results. There's no links to statements from google or any developer anywhere that has looked into anything. Instead there's a bunch of people who all regurgitate information, whether cited or not from The Verge, who also don't cite a source. They just say vaguely that Google told them. Right... because Google talks to The Verge and The Verge exclusively.
Let me change the question for you. Don't answer it. It's clear you're just a moron. This is for somebody else.
Is there really a hardware reason to exclude the Google Experience Launcher? Does anybody know if GEL really uses anything from the 800 or is Google just running a trial on the N5 users?
In addition, has anybody seen whether or not somebody has tried to take the apk from a Nexus 5 and run it on a Nexus 7?

So you're a moron and a liar? There's no statement from Google about it or you would have posted it. There's no information about whether or not the speculated functionality of the snapdragon 800 is really required for GEL's always listening either. You didn't find anything in Google (or Bing. I thought you were just being stupid).
If you found anything... anything at all, post it. I will take even your information gladly.

Those first builds of 4.4 that came around when the Nexus 5 was launched actually had the whole GEL. the only problem was the keyboard would pop up when you went back to the homescreen, but other than that, it was working fine, so the only reason I can see as to why they would have left it out of the tablet would be to give the Nexus 5 some more bullet points on its feature list than other products out there.

Interesting. So... chances are we'll have a unofficial version floating around in no-time. Did you have any hands on with those first builds? Did the always on functionality seem to impact battery life adversely? Thanks in advance!

I find it very troubling too. Especially when we didn't get the new look either. Nothing a little Nova Beta can't fix!

I didn't take any time to tear into the build and tinker with it, but if there was any battery impact, it was too small to notice. I was still getting days of use. Even though the keyboard thing wasn't fixed in that build, maybe now that official builds are out and about, it can be fixed and sideloaded. I mean, all it was was a install of Google Play Services, the Launcher and the latest Google Search. Hopefully it won't be too hard to package those up and have them working soon.

There's already unofficial builds running around. I'm running it on my N7 with 4.4 right now. Still has the keyboard bug though.
All I had to do was install the launcher APK from Android Police and boom, GEL.

As far as aesthetics go, no, changing the color of the notification bar text and icons wasn't enough. At all. Considering we didn't get the transparent notification bar or the new app drawer icon. I'm getting my fix of those two with Nova Beta though. Gets me all of those things, plus it's pretty stable.

Yeah I was more being sarcastic. Even though I was more looking forward to just having a bit more stability in everything I use the tablet for, I can't say I wasn't a little bit disappointed not having a very obvious "New Update Day!" feature to have fun with. And if Action Launcher wasn't the most overpowered launcher out there, I might use Nova. I just can't get over that Quick Panel. its too useful
