I can't get my MyTouch 4G to load back up no matter what I try. I've tried wiping/formatting cache, system, boot, and data through recovery as I cannot boot the phone up. Formatting boot comes up with "Error formatting /boot!", formatting system causes reboot back into recovery, formatting data causes reboot back into recovery, and formatting cache again does the same. There are other things I've tried that have failed. Please let me know if you have any ideas.
Here are my stats:
Recovery: ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0.0.5
Security: S-OFF
HBOOT: 0.86.0000
Radio: 26.03.02.26_M
Have you tried to format and reload the recovery image through the FASTBOOT prompt?
I would try that if you haven't already. If your not familiar with FASTBOOT the cyanogen forum has some good info on the method as well as XDA.

By format do you mean the erase command? Then reflashing a recovery image through fastboot? If so then yes, the "fastboot erase recovery" returns with "FAILED (remote: not allowed)" and the "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" returns the same thing. Any other suggestions???
Yea, that's the one I was talking about. Have you tried this using a different computer?
I had a bunch of intermittent inexplainable issues when using FASTBOOT on win7 (even running the prompt as admin) and then turned around and used a machine with XP with no problems.

The only solution is if you have the engineering spl. If you do then what you need to do is flash 2.x.x clockworkmod recovery via fastboot and fix the catches from there. If you do not have the engineering spl... as of right now the phone is done.

I also cannot get fastboot to work even though adb does. I have dL various files with all the drivers(pda net included) and tried installing manually and adb works just fine but no fastboot. I have read and followed various guides to the letter and all end up with the same result-adb is fine but no fastboot. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Perhaps I am not getting into fastboot on the mt4g, Could someone give me step by step directions in actually getting the phone into fastboot? I would gladly donate for the help.
I can't find the right drivers for it on my computer but I have the android sdk and stuff do you know what drivers I need?
the one that came with the sd card works perfectly fine for me.

Since you've unlocked your bootloader, you can get into download mode by turning off phone, holding volume rocker up, plug into usb of computer.
After that, follow this guide step by step for success.

As posted, us Odin, first you need to download Odin and the rom to use with it, I think the only one available is a 2.3.1 100% stock, I'll try to get the link for you, on the phone, power it off, and hold down the up/down volume then connect your USB to the phone, you phone should indicate downloading ., from then follow the info posted, I'll get you the link.

Might help to know what error and which img file (specifically), I would just pull down TWRP 2.5.0.0 (specifically for mako):
fastboot flash recovery name-of-recovery.img
Boot into recovery (wipe/format and flash up new rom, etc), or if you instead get an error note the specific error.
PS: If you have no rom/etc due to erasure, you can 'adb push' the zip files to /sdcard while in recovery.
C:\sdk>fastboot flash bootloader-mako-makoz10o.img
unknown partition 'bootloader-mako-makoz10o.img'
error: cannot determine image filename for 'bootloader-mako-makoz10o.img'

First off, bootloader isn't a "recovery", second you're missing a parameter
fastboot [action] [partition] [file]
You were basically telling it to flash nothing onto a partition named bootloader-make-makoz10o.img which course doesn't exist.

You don't need to flash a bootloader. Just fastboot flash stock Google images and start over

Also please change the title, your phone isn't bricked. You just messed up due to taking a shortcut route aka toolkit.

It probably will if you use the proper syntax since you have to tell it which partition.
If you go and grab the TWRP 2.5.0.0 recovery image from their website for mako, you can use the following
fastboot flash recovery nameofrecovery.img
Making sure there are 4 parts as the word recovery is part of the command.

Well, i tried to install stock Bootloader, stock recovery and stockrom with wugfresh tool under "Back to Stock", and so thats the problem:
When i try to send the bootloader, it stucks and the tablet posts under the infos on the bootloader screen: FASTBOOT STATUS - DATA00140000.
And thats it. I waited 2 hour, it still stucks on sending bootloader. So i downloaded the Unified Android Toolkit, install the fastboot driver and tick the option to install a new recovery... It still stucks on sending bootloader. In Youtube Videos, i saw, that the sending finished about 0,2 s. Thats 1280kb! Why doesnt work it on my tablet. I had root, but i didnt tick the usb debugging. So when i switch on my tablet, it comes to the bootloader, and its the activated bootloader( i can switch to recovery, reboot bootloader, power off, reboot system,..) and its unlocked. If i reboot into the recovery, it also comes to the activated bootloader. Its also when i tick the reboot system. So what can i do? Is it hardware bricked? Or whats the problem? I have the bootloader version MANTAMF01 and the H/W Version 8. Can anyone helps me?
And yes, i am the Admin on my PC
The problem is the toolkit, just use fastboot
fastboot flash bootloader nameofbootloader.img
And your done
But after doing so you effectively wipe a few of your partitions so then flash recovery and ROM as well, the method on doing so slightly varies depending if your going back to stock or what something custom

Are you trying to return to stock? Download the appropriate factory image (just Google android factory image) extract all and flash with fastboot.
If you want more detailed explanation boot to bootloader and write down all info on that screen, pet me know the os of your PC, and the explain a little more what's wrong, I'm not sure what can't receive any files means. It is often helpful to copy and paste all input/output from cmd/terminal

I just resolved this issue on my own about a minute before your response lol. The problem was that I wasn't using the stock USB cord. Holy cheese and rice, I've been sitting here for the past 5 hours at wits end trying to figure out the problem. My problem was exactly like MrCreeper's, it was just stuck on "sending 'bootloader'" with no progress whatsoever on either PC or tablet. Who woulda thunk the problem was simply that I was using the incorrect USB cord -_- *sigh*
Anyway, thank you for your prompt reply. I did use a few of your tips from your other posts when I ran into other problems trying to flash stock image, so cheers for that!
